While there may be times when you call and find they're out of certain items, when they do have their Caribbean dishes like jerk chicken, curry chicken, and brown stew chicken are top-notch. Their American-style offerings such as Mac & cheese, chicken wings, and cheesesteaks are consistently well-seasoned. They also occasionally serve breakfast. On a good day, you can enjoy some really delicious food, and the ownership is known to be friendly and respectful.

And the oxtails...LORD they were soooo good!! The flavor, the tenderness just 10/10. It's that good that I didn't want to finish eating it! I plan to go back and try their jerk chicken and beef patties. These are probably the best oxtails I have had in this area.

Finally made my way to D&D Caribbean Restaurant and the food was SO good. Like, OMG good…read more I ordered the brown stew chicken with a side of oxtail and cabbage (no rice for me). When I tell you that oxtail was falling off the bone? 10/10. The brown stew chicken was flavorful, tender, and cooked just right. The cabbage was seasoned perfectly, not soggy, not bland. Everything on that plate hit. No complaints about the food whatsoever. The space itself is small, clean, and minimally decorated. Nothing fancy, but very well-kept, and I appreciate that. Service was good. The owner personally took care of me and accommodated my request to swap out the rice for extra cabbage with no issue. I always appreciate when owners are hands-on and attentive. Now for the hiccup: the credit card machine wasn't working, so I had to pay via Cash App. Not ideal, but okay. What almost took me out was the attempt to add a service charge. I definitely spoke up because that extra $1? Yeah... it was about the principle. Sheesh. Overall, the positives outweighed the minor inconvenience. The food alone would have me coming back. And for me, that says a lot.

I ordered the jerk chicken bowl with potato salad, Old Bay fries, and ranch dressing. My husband got the jerk pork bowl with rice and peas and mac & cheese. I'm not sure whether it was the chicken or the ranch, but one of them was spicy enough to make my nose run. I have zero tolerance for heat, so it definitely caught me off guard. Hubby enjoyed his bowl, though he mentioned they gave him less pork than on previous visits. The staff were friendly and even brought the fries out to us on the patio. I really liked the fries and potato salad, but the chicken (or the sauce) was too spicy for me. I tried a bite of my husband's mac & cheese, and that was also good.

We decided to share the snapper. The music was soo loud you can't hear yourself think. But the place is clean to say the least. But empty. If you don't handle spice well, I recommend looking into jerk and curry flavored dishes before coming. I wish they had their full menu online because I like to get a sense of what I want before I arrive. Our appetizer was coconut shrimp. I am used to bland coconut shrimp but the shrimp here had a strong and fresh coconut flavor. My father in law had salmon with lemon butter, plantains, jasmine rice. He said everything was amazing. I ordered a Yardie Stack, which is a sandwich with a Jamaican patty of choice (I chose chicken), baked mac and cheese, and oxtail gravy on coco bread. Served with fries. The Jamaican patty was a little spicy but the sweetness of the bread and other flavors melded suspiciously well. That was a lovely sandwich. Fries were sub par but everything else was beyond any expectations I had, even the cabbage medley. My wife ordered fried chicken and I nearly bit my lip trying it. It melted when my teeth touched it and it exploded with juice. It took awhile to get food but they were swamped and it was worth it. My father in law also said the bread pudding is great and bought a slice to take home. The disappointing fries are a reason to be more adventurous and try the other foods. This was the best Jamaican/Caribbean food I've ever had.

After having parked nearby, we explored the spot. One side was where you would order food and drinks (no seating on this side). The other side had tables and chairs, including a full bar, and a large outdoor area - it was nice being outdoors when the sun was not hot (although I did see umbrellas and many covered areas out there in the back). Our event had a DJ as well. The overall layout of the place was nice, where I would revisit the business and maybe have my own party. This review is more for the carryout side. At the time, we were not trying to get a full meal, just something to snack on. I saw they had several patties available and when asked what they had, there were many choices. I don't remember all the choices they mentioned, but I do remember these: Beef, Chicken, Shrimp, Goat and Mutton. I got a Chicken Patty and a Mutton Patty - never tried either before my visit here. For drink, I got a Ting and Mango Passion juice (sold in a bottle). The Mango Passion juice cost a lot more than each of the other items I got. When we got our order, the patties were in a different bag, but the employee who was on the bar side couldn't tell us which was which. It was a bit of confusion, and we had to determine which was which for ourselves (I was not a fan of that). Both patties ended up being good. I had the Chicken and another in my group had the Mutton. I love Ting - it is one of my favorites. It's a drink flavored with both grapefruit juice and cane sugar. I got a chance to taste a little of the Mango Passion juice and could taste both flavors in the drink. Not sure I would pay that cost again though. I was still glad I was able to check this spot out.

And when it comes to CaribeExpress I'll admit they shocked me at how their curry goat platter separated them from the rest of the other outstanding Caribbean Cuisine Establishments. The sauce blended everything together perfectly and left me savoring every single forkful. Their seasoning game is second to none and the way they cook their curry down tells me that the chef takes pride in every meal he or she prepares. The cabbage was delicious on its own and with the curry potatoes mixed in ( which always gives the curry dishes an extra umph to me ) the meal reached the perfection plateau !!! We ordered the 1/4 jerk (dark) chicken (juicy and the skin came off easily), jerk pork chop (slightly tough and better with the jerk sauce), 1/2 a slab of ribs (tender and smoky), a side of the jalapeño cole slaw (it was crunchy and refreshing, and I liked the sliced jalapenos), and the Jamaican rice and peas (this was comforting).
