We have used Jamison for two large projects so far. Our old houses basement and our new house. Both were putting in sump-pumps. They also had to add structural support on our ok'd house. We had a mystery wall that needed to be removed. It's been super hard to find companies we trust to not only give us a fair price but also do the work correctly. Both instances they did a spectacular job. They were very responsive even after the work was finished. If we had questions we would have a response same day. Our most recent job was finished Friday and Steve was emailing us Saturday to make sure everything went well. The team left everything super clean too. I really expected at least a little mess! Especially since the new basement is finished and carpeted. Anyway I don't think we will ever stray from using this company while we are home owners. Call and ask for a quote! I would like to thank Jamison Basement for the excellent job they completed for us. Our basement had mold growing on the walls and baseboards. There was a stagnant smelled of mold and mildew. We had areas of the floor that would puddle with water and the walls would be wet after a heavy rain. We had several quotes from other contractors in the area in which all recommended a French drain install on the full perimeter of the basement with two new sump pumps. Drywall would be cut and the walls would be wrapped. We decided to go with Jamison. The quote was itemized and laid-out, no hidden fees, no games with a "discount is ending", or I can have my guys out in 2 days.. We are so happy we decided to have our basement waterproofed! Installed sump pumps and French drain system, which unfortunately only partially solved our flooding problem during large storms. Paid a ton of money. They're responsive and come out when called. Generally friendly people. Some of the installers and a bit unprofessional (swearing and trash talk in my house when on the job), leaving a soda bottle filled with tobacco spit in my crawl space). I was unhappy with them and hired another company who found that the Jamison drain was not completely sealed and may have worsened the problem. A real shame. Wonderful job by Jamison Basement Waterproofing. Communication was great (thank you, Steve C. and Kareem! So nice when contractors call you back the same day), the entire crew was respectful of us and our house and the project, and it was clear that they were all invested in doing a good job and were as excited about the progress of the job as we were. Jamison was also very helpful with their end of handling Philadelphia city permits - no small task (most of it is the homeowner's responsibility, just to be clear). Our basement goes the full depth of the house (almost 60'), and the job required excavation (man, oh, man, one bucket at a time out a small basement window during a heat wave) plus the laying of gravel, etc., before the concrete pour. Yesterday I had a problem with my sump pump that they put in 2 years ago. Steve called me first thing this morning and came out. Thank God it's working again. I used Jamison 3 times. The first two times my expectations were met and projects were completed on time in a professional manner. The third time was special. I had an emergency with a sump pump. Called Steve on a Saturday night and Sunday morning I had a fantastic member of the team, Elerie, show up and install a new pump and also some custom piping into an existing drain. Jamison's seemed the most thorough, most fair price, and had pretty solid reviews so decided to give them a shot. Can't say enough how impressed I was with Steve, Dwight, and the crew. These guys were quick, efficient, and unreal professional. They walked me through all the work they did at the end, and even laid a walkway so they wouldn't track mud and still wiped down the floors and steps for good measure. Had no idea what to expect from Jamison but their service went way above and beyond what I would've expected. My wife and I used Jamison for basement waterproofing as the house we had bought in 2018 had used Jamison to fill cracks inside our unfinished basement during inspection for presumed water leaks. The previous owners had contracted Jamison for the work to be done and we inherited the warranty on the work that was performed. Over time, my wife and I noticed small amounts of water in 1 of the 4 cracks that had been repaired. The gentleman that had done the work (Kyle Hill who both my wife and I did like and was very helpful) had come back to our house to evaluate the area and placed a topical "putty" of sorts over where we noticed water coming from. This occurred approximately 3 times. After the final time, we were informed that we would probably need more extensive work then what had been completed and that would be a different group within Jamison. Keep in mind, all this work was done under warranty and we were never charged for those visits. Upon having a second crew come out (Steve C), we were told that we would need a urethane injection to be used as a crack sealant and they would tie the work being done into the drain underneath the concrete and seal the wall with a vapor barrier and we would not see water again. Overall, this sounded like a good solution. We were quoted at a price well over $1,000 which sounds reasonable except that the work should have been covered by our warranty! Eventually the work was negotiated to a price of $400 after conversations with the company owner. My wife and I still were not thrilled paying anything as we had a full transferrable warranty and they had been to our house multiple times to fix work that did not fix the ultimate problem the first time but we needed the work to be completed. Unfortunately for us, the work done this time resulted in the same. Water leaking from the area we were assured would no longer leak. My wife and I contacted Jamison to let them know about our problem and we had an appointment for the following week. Not even 3 hours later, my wife gets a call from the accounting department saying that we have been terminated as clients as we were delinquent in payments to them from the $400 worth of work. This was news to me and my wife as when we called the company to pay following completion, we were told what our balance was and we payed it. We never received an email, letter, notification that we had missed a payment. This seemed very odd to me so I called Jamison back to see exactly what had happened and how it could be fixed (whomever called my wife was nasty towards her so I called back hoping they would respect me since they clearly didn't respect her). Unsurprisingly, not one call was returned. I called four times and spoke with the receptionist who assured me the owner would call me back. My wife called and left messages and spoke with the receptionist and was assured we would get a call back. Nothing. We called again after the fifth day of not hearing and both my cell phone and wife's cell phones had been blocked by Jamison! My wife and I were simply trying to rectify the problem, because if we did owe money on a payment, it was a mistake on our part and one we wanted to fix as we signed a contract. At the same time, we also never received notification that a payment needed to be made! Ultimately, we had to go and use a different company who did excellent work and corrected all the mistakes made by Jamison. Going back to the work that was done the second time, they never made sure water would go into a drain underneath the concrete because THERE WAS NO DRAIN. This was never disclosed to us upon completion of the work. We were also told by multiple companies who came out to give quotes on new work that would fix the original problem as well as Jamison's screw ups and that they have no idea what Jamison did to screw this up so much. Ultimately, we used Jamison because we were handed a warranty when we moved into our house. I would never use Jamison for any home service simply because the work they had done was sub par but their customer service was absolutely horrid. They were upset that the work they had to come back for was not being done at a price they liked, even though they didn't deserve a dime based off a warranty previously, and they took it out on the customer. Their owner didn't want to speak with us afterwards and back his products and work and instead blocked our phones and thought the problem would just go away. Please do you research and I hope this review saves other families from having to use Jamison as this company is not worth your money or time. read more

These guys are disorganized and unresponsive, they shop for convenient clients instead of being accommodating, don't bother!! I had an appointment with Steve for a basement remodel on Monday, he shows up the Friday before and insists we have an appointment. I'm not home at the time so my fiancé opens the door. He refuses to talk to her about the job we have and threatens to leave. I had to rush back from work, he talks to me for 20' and says "ok I'll come back to you with a quote by tomorrow". It's been 10 days I called the office, I emailed and no answer. I have other offers and I'm left hanging by these un-professionals. Shame. read more

Horrible. Cheated me out of $1200. Now that I've become much wiser about home repairs I see they add a block of concrete against my house to stop water for no reason. On top of that it's already cracking and it's not even the right type of concrete to block water. read more

Experienced water in my basement about two months ago. Found Jamison online through Yelp and called right away. The lady who answered the phone was very friendly and said they were booked up for the next month (they got about a hundred calls from the rainstorm in July). Their manager Steve came out to give me a quote to do a French drain on half my basement. I thought the price was very fair considering I was expecting it to be a lot more. We set a date for his crew to come out. They arrived promptly and were professional. The guys set down cardboard so that they did not make a mess coming in and out of the house. The project took about half the day and it looked great when they were finished. A few days later we noticed our utility sink that they had to work around was leaking. I called Steve and he came over within hours to diagnose the problem. While he was not able to fix it, he called his plumber to come out the next day. Jamison took care of the bill as I had hoped they would. It has been a week of straight rain all day all night and we have a dry basement. Just had my basement waterproofed by Jamison, from the first visit until the crew left I felt comfortable and confident with them. The salesman wasn't pushy in fact he was informative and helpful through the process. The crew showed up the first day and treated my home with respect, from the floor protection to the covering of items in the basement. They used other steps to help control any dust as well. OMG!!! BLOWN AWAY!!! Sooo happy that we used Jamison Basement Waterproofing for the job in our basement! A small amount of ground water was seeping through the concrete wall and I was ready to have this professionally fixed FOR GOOD! I did my research online and of course went onto Yelp to find excellent waterproofers with five star ratings from people who used them, and it was such a no-brainer! So I called Jamison and immediately I felt like I was in good hands. I spoke with Steve who totally made me feel like my troubles were about to come to an end and he was a very 'shoot from the hip' type of guy. He told me that his team could come out the next morning and do the job.This was music to my ears, the fact that I didn't have to now wait a week or two for them to first come over. Steve went over the steps of what the procedure would be. This was a two step process, in my case, because the first thing was to deter the water from sitting on the basement floor, and this was done by redirecting the water to flow into the french drain and then towards the sump pump. So Steve corrected this and then we had to wait for dry weather (so no ground water would enter) so that they could come back and finish the job. I called them when the wall looked dry and they came right over, literally, and Derek and Khain completed the second and last part of the job. All of the workers were terrific! I am a curious person and I ask a lot of questions and none of them seemed bothered by me asking them to explain what they were doing. All in all, I was extremely satisfied with the company and the completed job! I hope that I never need them again but if I should ever have that need, I can say without ANY HESITATION, that Jamison is the ONLY company that I will want to hire to get the results I want! Oh, and did I mention what neat freaks they are? They cleaned up so well afterwards it was almost as if they were cleaning their own homes, making sure that every bit of debris was hauled away!
