I just called this company to get info on waterproofing my basement. Rather than offer services and solutions, 2 people got on the phone to tell me (lecture, really, because rather than allow me to speak they transferred me) why I'd be wasting my money. I appreciate the honesty and they seemed knowledgeable but they offered me nothing but a Ted Talk about how what I was asking for was wrong. I'm tempted to call them back and lecture them about why this is the wrong way to run a business. I had a sump pump installed by Rightway in 2019 and they were very professional and respectful of my space. A couple of years later, there was an issue with the floater and again they provided great service. The manager Al, and his technician, Reinaldo, did a great Job in explaining what the issue was and provided excellent service by fixing it. He came out and gave us an estimate on a home we were buying. There was water in the basement. He came out and inspected it thoroughly and showed us where the problems were. They were honest and fair on the price. We were so impressed with how knowledgeable Al was compared to other companies. We decided to buy the house and we had the work completed by RightWay. They contracted with me to fix a crack in my foundation but abandoned the job after 3 hours because they didn't feel like digging deep enough! The owner Al was rude and instead of honoring the contract he instructed his employees to leave. Update 12/5/2015: Funny that 3 years later someone from the company gets on Yelp and responds to my review. If she had all the facts (which she doesn't) she would not have commented. There were no unusual circumstances. I even asked the guy when he showed up where his machine was to dig out the dirt around the foundation. I was told that he can dig to China with his bare hands and I shouldn't worry and just go inside. So I did go inside and came out 2 hours later and the guy gave up (after removing my shrub and leaving it unplanted) and said it was too hard to dig that deep. So the hole he dug caused the leak to get worse and the owner wanted nothing to do with even apologizing for not listening to me about needing to dig deeper. The sales guy even measured inside to approximate the depth and agreed with me but directed me to the owner for the complaint. Then the owner threatened me if I leave a bad review! This is the USA and when poor service is delivered it is not only my right but my duty to let others know. Now I will clarify that this was not their "standard" service. I was not that concerned about the actual work but more the attitude of the owner and the treatment I received! And from the other reviews here it seems they are rude to many customers and it wasn't an isolated incident. read more

Might be great company, but the contractors who came to the site to fix the wet basement issue, didn't do the professional job. Lot of mess that I have to clean up afterwards. Problem of leaking was fixed, but I got stressed out dealing with the workers who came on site. Check on life time warranty, sometime company may change their name and same place, same owner, but warranty is void. read more

Another Rightway employee, Carolyn, was in attendance. Perhaps owing to the other people present, Al was much more polite and professional (e.g., he half-apologized for calling me a "f**king moron" and a "jerk-off"). To demonstrate that the system was functioning as it should, he hooked up a hose to the basement sink and put the other end inside the drainage tile lining the bottom of the basement wall. After approximately five minutes of running the sink, water began to trickle into the pit that, in our observation, had never been active since the system's installation. Whether or not this demonstration actually proves that the system is working properly, I'm not sure--we are at the mercy of Al's expertise. He theorized that maybe water was still appearing in that section of the basement because of a crack in the foundation floor. The floor is tiled, so the only way to identify if such a problem exists is to take up the tile. Al said that if we took up the tile, he would install another pipe to divert water from that area, free of charge. This is an interesting prospect, and one that we are considering, though he admitted that such an addition could have the unintended consequence of making that area more vulnerable to overflow. I'm adding a star to my previous rating due to the fact that somebody finally came out to investigate the system in person. Of course, one would expect that a customer who paid $7200 for services wouldn't have to fight so hard for a home visit if he was concerned there might be a problem with those services. read more

And it's funny that you've responded to this review since he blamed you for my problem saying the previous owner only wanted the basement dry for an open house and you quoted the job based on his needs and not necessarily correctly. He also told me you are no longer permitted to evaluate or quote these kinds of jobs. I tried to speak with you since it is your name on the warranty/contract, and that didn't happen. I stopped pursuing the issue with your company because if you didn't get it right the first time I had serious doubts about you getting it right the second time. Unlike Kathy K., I had a good experience with this company. They did good work, were fair and flexible in the price. We waited six months to be sure the system worked before installing drywall and carpet -- just before the last piece of drywall went up we had a leak. It was a corner, the original work only covered the front wall and yet, they took ownership of the problem and installed new pipe three feet out onto the wall that was not part of the original scope. Rightway was able to solve a huge water issue at our place in New Hope. We are close to the Delaware River and we had an underground stream running through the basement. Al spent so much time and effort to make sure the basement was dry and did extensive outside excavation. It's been several weeks and the basement is bone dry and doesn't smell anymore! We had a very hard-to-fix problem with getting water in our garage and basement 9 years ago. We had at least 6 different companies come and give us ideas and estimates for the job. Al & Rightway were the only ones who seemed to give us a legitimate answer to the problem. They installed a drain and grate in front of our garage & a sump-pump inside the garage. The sump-pump worked up until last spring. When we called they said we had a lifetime warranty, so they came out and replaced it. (Not sure if they still offer this service). We did have to pay for a service call but the pump was free. This past Sunday, (after that horrific freezing-rain that caused many fatal accidents all around the area), the pump failed. (Luckily we have a back up pump leftover from before the other was installed; we used it by hooking our garden hose to it). My husband called today and set up an appointment for Wednesday. However, Al the owner, called later and said he was in the area & stopped by. He said the sump-pump in the garage was working, but the pipe hooked to it that ran outside the garage was frozen/clogged with ice. He was able to unclog it, and then rerouted the pipe at a different angle to prevent more freezing. Everyone we have dealt with at Rightway, has been courteous and prompt. I normally do not give 1 star reviews but to say we are disappointed is an understatement. We gave Al (owner) our business twice (most recently a week ago). Spent THOUSANDS of dollars. We discovered additional water issues after his guys extended our french drain. When my husband called to explain the situation and offer him even more business, he berated my husband and asked why this wasn't mentioned previously (we didn't know about it until after the fact). He gave my husband a hard time and said that he couldn't fit us in his schedule until 1/22. I called him back today and he said that he now can't fit us in until 2/4 and was extremely disrespectful and rude on the phone. My husband also tried to call back and see what else can be done ... he hung up on my husband. We even bought lunch for his workers last week and this is how we are treated. Complete professionals from start to finish, and the price was lower than the 2 other estimates I got. Arrived on time with a 7-man crew, so the job was completed in one day. They completed the concrete floor work under my very heavy vintage soapstone sink by raising the sink off the floor with metal straps screwed into the wall. And that wasn't even in the original estimate, but they did it at no additional cost. A couple followups over the 6 years for sump pump issues also handled nicely. Highly recommend. read more

I had a great experience when I hired this company to waterproof my basement. But, when I needed them for a problem my experience was a 360 degree difference. So, if you want to have someone do your waterproofing but not help with an issue this is your company. I came home to beeping from my pump. I did not know what was wrong so I called the number at 4:45 pm. Was told the company was open till 5 and if I had an issue to follow the process for emergency. I did just that. About 1 hour later someone returned my call but I had just stepped out to the store. When I got back 15 mins later I called the person and the person said he could not hear me but would call back. At 8:30 I called again and it went right to voice mail . In the meantime I called the maker of the pump who instructed how to fix the initial problem. I called at 9:45 and left my work number and cell phone number for someone to call me the next morning. At 10 the person called (I was in bed) and the person who answered said I had left a message on their machine and was not sure how nice it was to which the man said if it was not nice that is the service she will get. The message was fine I am a professional unlike this company. I called the next day and was told no one could speak to me but they could come out 2 days later. I was told I was dealing with Al G the owner. Well, I called someone else who came right out and in less than 1 hour all was fixed. Other reviews say the owner is rude well I can not say that since he never gave me the courtesy of speaking to me. I have never in over 50 years been treated this way and this is my first negative review I have ever written but I do not want this to happen to anyone else.
