Ed came in fast talking, agreed to work... Then tried to "up sell" and install taps to pull more water in. I specifically asked worker about exit of sump pump... I was told buried... It isn't so it's only going to freeze in cold temps. I contacted a place called Ridley concrete and hard knoxs is who answered .. now 10 days AFTER cement still isn't dry... I sent pictures as asked was told he'd call me with a plan.. he still hasn't called. I still have wet cement in basement can't put washer or dryer back and ed says 3 months... So why'd your worker say 4 days? (Which IS excessive since it's 24/48hrs). I wouldn't recommend this company they are indeed quick to show up and get the job done but it's not correct. My senior citizen mother and disabled child should not be in environment of water sitting creating mold and mildew AFTER money was spent to "garuntee" the work. Paid $4700 to have a sump pump installed in October, still getting water. The owner told us "it's common for it to take about 6 months for it to work and to stop getting water". But also wanted to charge us an additional 2k+ to extend the drain panels and pipes a few feet each side of the pump. We had a plumber tell us the drainage pipe outside isn't pitched correctly, and had to cancel our flooring installation until we can sort this out. Planning to have another professional come out ( one that doesn't sub out the work to other companies) and give us a second opinion. read more

I can not say enough about this company....If you don't use them for your services, you will be a fool! they did work at my home a whole concrete wall for us.. They showed up everyday even worked a half a day in the rain. I must say they went above and beyond on their work and worked their butts off. Very hard workers, they were their ever day early morning and left late afternoon. They stayed till they were completely satisfied with the job even if it took longer to finish. I'm removing my previous review as the situation has been rectified. Ed reached out to us and was extremely apologetic for dropping the ball (his words). In that time there had been a lot of rain so we're sure we weren't the only people reaching out-new and existing customers alike. He stopped by to take a look at the walls to determine what needed to be done. He had a crew out to us the next morning. In a short time they had drywall removed, roughcasted areas in need and placed a vapor barrier to direct any water to the French drain system they previously installed. Once again they were respectful of our home, laying plastic and drop cloths to avoid tracking any concrete through the house and removing any debris. We had a serious mold and odor issue in the crawl space under part of our single home! We we're actually getting ill and running the air conditioner During this heat wave was spreading this smell and his pores all around our house. So we had to turn off the air conditioner. We were referred to Ed Knox , Who owns hard knocks waterproofing. We called him and the very next morning he was actually out to our house. We came to an agreement on the cost of the job. I knew basically what had to be done. When he came in, he hit every point that I was concerned about. The very next morning his crew showed up and they started working on the job. They were all very respectful and polite people and I could tell they were hard workers. They went above and beyond to make sure my house was kept clean, and that they made sure they didn't miss any thing they were supposed to do. unfortunately, they found out that there was a broken pipe coming from the kitchen sink which included of course the garbage disposal. This was part of the problem that we were having this was leaking into our crawlspace. Also, all the insulation had fallen down from heating and air conditioning ducts that are under the house in the crawlspace. They were condensing water onto the floor. The plumbing issue meant that the job couldn't be finished until the pipes were repaired. This entailed breaking down part of the cinderblock wall extricating the pipes going out and buying the parts needed to repair them. Luckily one of their employees was a plumber. So while they were out getting the plumbing the other guys were finishing up totally cleaning out my crawlspace, killing the mold, drying the floor beginning to put a brand new insulation in the rafters under the floors of my living room dining room and kitchen. So they decided that instead of coming back tomorrow they were going to stay until everything was completely done that we had water back in our kitchen that the crawlspace was completely mold free that it was completely cleaned out that all the new insulation was put up and all the ductwork was re-insulated with special wrapping that prevents it from causing condensation ever again. I would like to say that I couldn't be happier getting to know this company they do great work they saved us so much By doing this job in one day we're actually about to get her life back together here. I very highly recommend anyone that has a mold problem or anything like that that they give Ed Knox A call. When we discovered the plumbing issue, it became something that wasn't covered in the contract and Ed Knox was very reasonable in pricing that job also. read more

I reached out to Hard Knox Waterproofing and two other vendors to resolve two main issues in my basement. First and most important was a radon issue I was having. Cracks in my concrete flooring and a large cove gap were negating the radon abatement system I had installed. The second issue was that mold had started to develop around the base of the cove gap and on one wall. Ed Knox the owner came over and felt he had identified all of my issues and came up with quote to resolve all of my issues and said he would have his team move around all of the stuff in the basement as part of the deal. I made it clear to Ed that my review of his work was going to be very dependent on the radon numbers going down. The team showed up at 7:30am just as they had schedule with me the week prior. At the time they got there I tested the radon levels in the basement and they were at 9.3 pCi/L, more than double the 4.0 pCi/L limit recommended by the EPA. The team got to work and finished around 2pm the same day. Today only 21 hours after they had finished the work the radon levels are at 1.6pCi/L in the basement and lower in other areas of the house. The radon levels are also continuing to drop and have not yet stabilized. The team completely removed the mold issue and applied mold resistant products to ensure I would not have the issue in the future. What they left behind looks MUCH better than what I had before. The team cleaned up the space after they were done leaving it cleaner than when they started. In the end I couldn't be happier with the work. The team did exactly what Ed had promised and the current radon levels are better than what I expected. read more
