This was my favorite activity while in Dublin. We paid for a whisky tasting and were guided to a small room in which we learned the way the whiskey is made and the history of the distillery. Tried 4 whiskeys made by Jameson. The bar outside has the most delicious menu for cocktails. Be careful in the gift shop because you'll want to buy everything. We walked away with 3 bottles of Red Breast whiskey that cannot be bought in the US. Also purchased a beautiful warm jacket.
When planning our Ireland trip, there was a short list of absolute must visits and Jameson Distillery in Dublin was top of that list! As much as Jameson is synonymous with Dublin, you would think they take up several blocks of downtown space...however, this distillery is tucked away on Bow Street in the Smithfield area of the city. It is a little hike on foot from city centre, but on a good day, it is a nice walk that is well worth the reward! The distillery is absolutely gorgeous. The outside if classic Irish infrastructure, then you walk inside and are transported into a modern, rustic, elevated and exciting space dedicated to all things Jameson! We purchased tickets for our guided tour and tasting ahead of time, and I highly recommend you doing the same. Our tour started with a quick introduction to things, then up the stairs we went to the Daily Grog where we got to choose our cocktail, and of course, I went with the Jameson Ginger! From there the tour started where we got to see the inner working of the process, including the ingredients along with a sensory station for tastes, smells, etc...The final tasting allowed us to sample a few different varieties of Jameson, including one that was only available on site. The tour was informative and fun. Our tour guide was fun, engaging, entertaining and an overall joy to wander around and connect with. Clearly a very passionate person about Jameson! After the tour, we wandered directly into the gift shop where we of course picked up a few pieces of swag. Immediately following that, we bellied up to the gorgeous bar downstairs for a final cocktail before heading back out. Overall, Jameson Distillery was one of the most memorable experiences of our time in Dublin, and I highly recommend it!
I'm not a whiskey drinker but this place really surprised me, starting with our welcome drink. I chose the Jameson Lemonade and couldn't taste the whiskey at all thankfully. The exhibits were interesting and I loved the design. The whiskey tasting itself wasn't too much and I did enjoy the Black Label. But what made the tour the most enjoyable was definitely Niall who cracked us up the entire time.
One can't go to Dublin and not stop at Jameson. This was a wonderful experience. Booked a regular tasting and a cask draw. Let me start with this... you get a drink while you wait for your tour/tasting to start! From now on, I want all my tours to start this way! Ha. Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging, and walked us through the Irish Whisky making process while ultimately leading us to the tasting room. We then moved onto the cask draw, where we had a private experience talking about the barrel aging process in a very cool (literally cool) aging room and had the chance to taste a sample of whisky straight from the barrel. As if that tour wasn't enough, we then grabbed a drink at their bar before wrapping up and heading out for a much needed late lunch. Please please please don't drink and drive. The initial tasting alone is enough to put you over the limit.
Visited the Jameson Distillery! It was really nice! They have a restaurant that you can get some good food at across the way before your tour (that isn't affiliated). Once you enter, you will find a lobby and a cool bar! They have signature cocktails and you can of course get the whiskey poured straight up. Gift shop is also located in the central area, lots of fun items and bottles! I got a T-shirt and a Red Breast 21 ;) We did the Secret Whiskey tasting, not a full tour. I decided to do this because the normal tour did only included a tasting of some normal Jamesons. I mainly wanted to try some unique whiskeys! The tasting was pretty quick, about 45 min. But you did get to go into the "private office" and try 4 different Jameson branded premium whiskeys. You had an employee guide you through the tasting which was super cool. It was pretty private, since there were only about 8 people in the tour! If you are mainly concerned about the whiskey, I would recommend to do the Secret Tasting! We also hit the bar after the tour to hangout and try some of the signature cocktails!
First time at this distllery and it was an amazjng experience. We did the secret tasting which was really awesome. Our moderator Leah was fantastic. I learned so much about the history of irish whiskey and jameson. The staff throughout were great. Its a place where yoh can come solo or in groups and have a great experience.
The *secret* whisky tour was amazing. James... my only suggestion is that you need to bring your energy and enthusiasm up a notch, sheesh! The great thing about the secret tasting is that it is intimate and away from the plebs in the general public. Heathens! The amount of time dedicated to a flight of whiskys is just about right. James went through everything with perfect pace and detail, really great. You get to taste exclusive whiskys, available only at this location. Afterwards, I stuck around with my new alcoholic friends and sipped on drinks in the main bar area until it was time for the (add-on) cask pull. This had quite a number of guests, but Niell handled it like a boss. For the love of god, no flash photography!!! To be honest, I haven't traditionally been the biggest fan of Jameson, but this visit was entertaining from start to finish, and I realize now the rest of their product line is nothing to scoff at. Would recommend an elevated experience to get the most from this distillery.
When in Dublin you need to do Jameson! It's my go to drink with ginger ale and to drink exclusive versions during the tour was so much fun and got a nice buzz going Our tour guide Colin was great informative and fun and funny The staff in general very nice and helpful The place is bigger than you think as you walk room to room and explore during the tour Everything is organized well and it's a fun time Love Jameson!
When in Dublin... This is a must! We didn't have a lot of time, but knew we had to do some tastings. It's a beautiful place and though we didn't get to take a tour, we did find a spot for tasting and really enjoyed the all around atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're into Irish Whiskey or not!!!!
I booked tickets online for the Bow Street Experience and Cask Draw (€41 - if you don't want to do the cask draw, the regular experience is €26) for a Saturday at 11:30. We did get there 10 minutes late but the first 10-15 minutes of the tour is getting your included drink at the bar. You can choose from Jameson on the rocks or a Jameson and ginger. From there, they take you into different rooms, where you get to smell the ingredients that go into distilling Jameson, and tell you about the history and the process. You'll also get to try a few different Jamesons. From first drink to finish, the whole thing lasts probably about an hour. When booking the cask draw, the website tells you to make sure you book for an hour after the Bow Street Experience so that you have enough time to finish the tour. We booked the 12:30 and it starts on time, and lasts for about half an hour. They take you into the barrel room, where they explain the whiskey, and then you get to taste cask strength single pot still whiskey, drawn straight from the cask. I don't remember what ABV they said it was but it's very high and not something that should be taken as a shot. In fact, it's so high that children are not allowed in the barrel room because of the fumes from the alcohol. Neither my husband nor I knew this at the time of booking, and we had our 8-month-old with. We just thought they bring you into a regular room, and let you taste the cask-strength whiskey, but you actually get to see them draw it, which was cool. Initially, we were just going to take turns doing the cask draw but my husband didn't end up doing it and they were able to refund us. So just something to keep in mind - if you're just looking to taste the whiskey or if you have kids with you, you might be better off going to the bar (though I'm not too sure if this exact one is served there). The experience is definitely for tourists but I would say it's one of those must-see tourist spots if you find yourself in Dublin.

My husband really wanted to check this place out as he is a fan of Jameson Whiskey. The tour talks about the history of Jameson and where it's grown to today. They no longer distill out of Dublin, but it is where they started, hence why they still have the tour here. The tour concluded with three small tastings and a whiskey drink of your choice at the end of the experience. There was also a gift shop for you to purchase Jameson related products. If you're a fan of Jameson Whiskey, it's not a bad tour to check out, but personally I'd rather just do the tasting. Keep and eye out for promo codes. We found one at the hotel we were staying at and got 10% off ticket price. read more
The place is so nice & big. Has lots of room & bottles of whiskey everywhere, of course. Amy, our cocktail class instructor, was awesome!! She took us into the cocktail classroom & we each had our own workstations to make our cocktails. She went over the history of Jameson it was very interesting. We started off with her telling us about an easy drink to make for gatherings. It's called a punch she put a lot of ingredients together so that it can mix together & sit for a while before we had it. After that, we started our first cocktail, we lined up all the ingredients & started putting them all together. Then, I got ready to mix it all up to make sure & get the foam from the egg whites. We made a strawberry sour it was delicious & came out beautiful. Enjoyed the first drink, then started lining up everything for our second drink we were gonna make. Added all the ingredients & mixed it up. It was old-fashioned & it was really good as well. At the end, they took us to a private part of Jameson Distillery to finish up the last drink the punch. We were able to stay there & have that drink & we also received a recipe book to take home so we can make these drinks again at home. Can't wait to come back when in Dublin, Ireland. read more
Omg came straight over here from a long L.A. flight, jet-lagged and with an empty stomach. No regrets! Lol got the tour and it was nice knowing the little history of it along with some tastings that were included. The shop is pretty cool especially if you're a collector. They have one bottle of Jameson you can't get anywhere but here and you can also get it engraved. You're in Ireland you gotta stop by this place! read more
If you visit Dublin, you MUST come here. There were many great sites on our trip but this was one of the most memorable and in no small part due to our guide, Molly. I will confess to have never in my life having tried Jameson but we were told this tour was worth it. The history behind this incredible Irish Whiskey is fascinating. Even if you don't drink alcohol at all, you will be captivated by the story of Jameson. We did not have reservations but we just walked up and were able to get tour tickets and the start it off right by giving you a drink to have on the tour. And at the end, there is a gift shop with some very quality T-shirts... and Irish Whiskey too (of course). I've had whiskey back home in the states and we tried whiskey on Scotland but there is no question that Jameson is my number one choice. Again, even if you don't drink, you will enjoy the tour (especially is Molly is your guide). I'm sure all the other guides are as knowledgeable, but Molly sure knew how to get the group engaged and made the tour such a fun and memorable experience. read more

I highly recommend coming here for a cocktail making class. You get 3 drinks out of it (4, if you share a cool fact) and you can to have a neat cocktail menu/recipe book to keep. What's not to like. Our tour guide knows his stuff and gave a few explanations on why you chose this ingredient over that. Very good lessons! read more

We had Emer and she was AMAZING!! So funny and was really getting people into the experience. Considerate to those not drinking and involving everyone. I am not a big whiskey drinker and even I enjoyed this tour! The place itself is really cool to look at and catches your attention. Does not feel like a walk around, has many things going on and is worth it for sure!! read more
This place is hopping and a graining. Everyone is here to enjoy all the many experiences of Jameson. The interior bar is roomy and lots of seating in and outside. They have a gift shop also for shirts and etc. I tried the Trad which is an old fashion, and it was great. Also had a shot of Jameson orange which was good. Looks like the winner was the Irish coffee special everyone was walking around with. Parking was easy and it was a close walk to the front entrance. Happy I picked this out of all the other tours, it was fun.. read more

I do not remember This place as it has been years since I went to visit. but it was def on my top three places to visit in Ireland. I am pretty sure we had a tour of the distillery and prob got some free tastings. I remember the light fixture had Jameson bottles. It was cool. If you are in the area this is a must visit. read more

Great tour! The guide was friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience fun. We had a relatively small group (approx 22) the information and presentation was enjoyable with video, hands on and experiential in nature. The tasting was great as well. As someone that doesn't try whiskey very often it was nice to understand the process and be guided on how "best" to taste read more
I'm not a whiskey drinker but the espresso martini made with Jameson Cold Brew at the Bow Street distillery is worth buying a flight for alone. My best friend is a Jameson lover and we had to experience everything the Bow Street experience had to offer. We did a tour, our tour guide was great and gave us plenty of fun facts associated to the experience. He also encouraged plenty of questions and with a small group tour, we felt like we could ask and learn throughout the experience. (Please note the first 15 minutes is self guided and allows you to explore the space.) Both of us became obsessed with Jameson Crested. It's a whiskey that's available basically everywhere with the exception of the US and one of the oldest flavors of Jameson. It was incredible and we both ended up buying bottles of it to bring home. The extra add ons offered are also pretty fun (sampling whiskey out of the barrel - woah man, it'll grow hair on your chest ) and bottling your own whiskey is fun too. Pro tip: buy before you fly to Ireland there are bubble wrapper envelopes made for wine bottles that our bottles of whiskey fit in to travel home in within our checked baggage. No issues at all and we're both SO happy we packed them! Save them for your next trip! read more

The Jameson Distillery is a must-visit for everyone ! It's a place where you can learn all about the history and process of making this famous drink. The tour guides are friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience both informative and enjoyable. Plus, at the end of the tour, you get to taste some delicious Jameson whiskey. The atmosphere is lively, and it's a great opportunity to understand and appreciate the craft behind this iconic spirit. You don't need to go on a tour to enjoy some Jameson cocktails but the tour is a bonus and for sure not boring. For sure coming back when I visit Ireland again. read more

We didn't have time for the tour, so we stopped in for a drink. Place is clean and sleek. Bartenders are friendly and efficient. We ordered The Trad and The Choco Orange, both delicious if you're an Old Fashioned drinker. The Jameson store was smaller than we expected, however, we purchased some really nice whiskey! I will be back to take the tour. read more

On a vacation in Ireland and this was on our bucket list. We did a tour that included the history and making of the whiskey at Jameson. I didn't know what to expect but it was surprisingly interactive and the guide was there every step of the way. Shout out to Leah, who was informative and funny! My favorite part was the tasting process. Leah walked us through each one and it was a fun experience! Very entertaining and a must do. Also, we got our fee grog (I think it just means Drink) on the way out at the bar! Comes with the tour and the bar was such a cool place to sit and drink. I highly recommend heading here! We were here no longer than 2 hours so it was easy for us to fit in. read more
From the outside courtyard you'll see a gift shop, statue, and the famous Jameson Distillery, you walk down small alleys to or on Bow St. Before to dress warm or drink up to warm up! HA! Once you walk in you'll see bars to your left and right and on the floor you'll see class plates to see the old grounds of the distillery which look absolutely killer! I totally recommend doing the highest tire tour to get the facts, outstanding history, and amazing tasting at the end of your tour. I did not like dark liquor before this tour, but now I can say that I am a fan. You will honestly enjoy your time here and after, kick back at one of the bars and enjoy your stay. You're gonna love it! I think my tour guide was James or Jason! You were great bud! read more

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. The pictures will give you a glimpse of what to expect. Also if you want to bring a cool gift home they can put your name on the bottle. Our group decided to go to the Jameson Distillery on Bow St for their general tour and tasting experience. The tour itself lasts about 45 minutes between the "tour" and tasting. The distillery itself is beautifully done with accents to the spirit lines they have and is a very cool atmosphere to grab a drink. What we didn't realize was none of the machinery is at this location anymore. The tour included a welcome drink, discussion of the history of the distillery, how their operations current work, and the process of distilling their liquor. We ended with a tasting of (3) spirits neat. Our entire group felt the experience was lacking and not curated to Jameson itself. One could learn anything from the tour on a youtube video. Overall, I would recommend going for a drink but nothing more. read more

Had a great time both on the Jameson tour and afterwards having a couple drinks in the bar area. The tour was fairly quick, but gave a good history of Jameson and their distilling process. At the end, you get to taste three of their whiskeys, which for us was the original, the Black Barrel, and the Distillery Edition. Definitely should visit if in Dublin. read more
September 2023 - Our revisit to Dublin Did you know that in Irish, whiskey is called uisce beatha and literally translates to "the water of life"? Chronicling the history of the Jameson family and the "water" they're known for, the Jameson Distillery no longer makes the hard stuff (that's done elsewhere) though it does offer tours that provide insight on just how to do it. Whiskey drinkers hail the 40-minute guided tour (and the included tastings) as informative and fun, with energetic guides and a beautiful refurbished facility. Whether you're a fan of whiskey or not, learning about the history is sure to entertain anyone. Even non-drinkers say they enjoyed the informative tour. Like learning that the founder of the most famous Irish whiskey, John Jameson, was actually a Scotsman. Or that the Latin on the bottle's label, Sine Metu, means "without fear." read more

Our family did not do a tour - but just stopped at the tasting room for a quick drink, and definitely enjoyed ourselves. We were pleasantly surprised - while busy, it was easy to grab a few tables. Ordering at the bar took a bit, but we were getting quite a few cocktails. We really enjoyed our sours - traditional and strawberry. And my husband quite enjoyed being able to try different whiskeys. read more

Jameson is our go-to whiskey at home. While the whiskey itself was enjoyable, we found the tour short in comparison to others in the area, particularly considering its popularity; the guide was wonderful though, very welcoming and friendly. read more

Truly unique must do so for any whiskey lover. Tucked away in a cobblestone alley, the tasting room is enormous. There is an incredible gift shop with truly unique finds, including the distillery exclusive bottle. read more
Whether you're a history fan, whiskey fan, or just enjoy learning something new. The Jameson Distillery in Dublin is a great choice. We enjoyed a tour with whiskey tasting, cask draw sample, and even poured our own bottle from the cask. Only wish I had more time! read more
Uses your sense of smell & taste throughout the tour while you learn about ingredients, the process, and the products. Well thought out and interactive which I found very engaging. We did the basic tour but if available & more time I definitely would try others. read more

We did the regular tour and the cast pour tour with Patty. He was great. We also did the Red Breast tour with Alex and she was exceptional, hands down best tour guide we had on Dublin. Worth every euro. read more

The tour was so much fun! It takes about 45 mins and you get 3 tastings. You get to learn so much history of Jameson & get a free drink at the end. The little gallery that have before the tour was quite neat as well. The guide we had did very well. He was very informative and had the tour down to a T. Would definitely recommend for Jameson lovers. read more

We had so much fun at the Jameson Distillery! We did the secret tastings tour and learned a lot about different Jameson variations and got to go into a small, intimate bar area. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. And of course the drinks are delicious. We also paid to do the bottle your own as we were here during our honeymoon. Such a cool experience and a memory we will be able to remember every time we look at the bottle. read more
It's not often I'm impressed and wasn't sure if I wanted to do this tour and it was simply one of the best tours I've ever gone on. I thought it was much better than the Guinness storehouse tour. There are far less people over here. Our tour guide was amazing and I'm so sad I don't recall his name to give him the proper recognition. I love whiskey and never knew this much went into making it. Hearing the history of Jameson was very interesting. It's done in a way that captures your attention and they move on. Some tours drag on and this one was just right, I loved getting to sample Jameson and at the end I couldn't believe how reasonable their bar prices were. I'd highly recommend trying this tour even if you don't drink. Very informative and they have the friendliest staff I've encountered in Dublin so far. read more
I enjoyed this so much. I know people might tell you it's touristy and don't waste your time, but it's truly a good time. The guides are great, funny and informative and the experience is fun. Please pay the extra for an extra casting. It's all just so informative and delicious. You can def do Jameson and Guinness in one day. If you can hang! Hahah read more
