I just moved here from Chicago and just the thought of having to find a place to get a nice haircut was scary. This place was originally located in the CSU campus where, when I glanced inside, the charismatic owner motioned for me to stop in. A friendly conversation turned into a little sample of stuff (I'm not a guy that puts stuff in my hair frankly) that he styled into my hair himself on the spot and hey...not bad! Long story short, I made that my place after moving to Fort Collins in 2012. Still today, I notice that care in all the employees, and my current stylist Heidi not only makes me feel right at home but is very talented and professional. read more

I made an appointment to get partial highlights (which turned out amazing), but they were definitely quite pricey. The website claims $80 as a starting price (I have pretty short hair) and you get a $20 off coupon for your first time there. I thought it would end up being around $100 in the end, but it ended up being $130 with toner and blow-drying my hair. The toner I get, but I wish I had been told about the $30 charge for drying my hair since I can do that at home for free. Although they did a great job on my hair, I can't say I'll be coming back since I didn't feel they were upfront about the cost. read more

James Salon is a beautiful space with all of the Aveda goodness I was hoping for! I saw Shania for a hair cut and she also recommended a deep conditioning treatment after listening to my hair concerns and goals. The cut and treatment were exactly what I needed, my hair feels so soft and healthy! Shania gave my a very relaxing scalp massage and shampoo as well as a cute style to finish the experience. The space and everyone working there are very welcoming. I also noticed a good amount of men getting very good looking haircuts while I was there. I highly recommend visiting James Salon! read more

This salon is close to my house so I made an appointment for a cut and partial highlight. The atmosphere was great and stylists were very friendly. I don't get my hair done very often, and hate going to salons where they are snobby. My stylist was Leslie, and she was very quick getting the foils in. The color came out AMAZING and the cut was exactly what I wanted. I will definitely visit this salon again. read more

I went in for a trim and some layering. I have long, curly hair and I only wanted a little cut off the length. My stylist was kinda shy and quiet and didn't seem very confident. She used some weird scissor- twisted my hair, cut it, and thinned it out. It turns out, this shortcut method of "layering" leaves curly hair incredibly frizzy!! She cut layering around my face that was shorter than I wanted, as I specifically said that I wanted them to be long enough to stay back in a ponytail... they now fall in my face constantly. I learned an important lesson at this salon... you truly DO get what you pay for when it comes to hair cuts!!! I had to follow up this cut with an appointment with a qualified hairdresser. I spent twice as much as I wanted to and now my hair is much shorter, since the good hairdresser had to take a bunch off to make the style look better. I think this salon is best for men's cuts and women who only want a very basic style- otherwise proceed with caution!! read more

Two times after I scheduled an appointment Angel to cancel my appointments. Additionally I was told by her that my Amazon Local voucher was good for only a "Mini Pedicure". I was also originally told by Angel that she would be doing the service, but today she said that a student would be performing the service. I feel like Keith James Salon is using misleading and false advertising and misrepresentation of the services you sell. I would give Keith James Salon ZERO STARS if possible. Great service, relaxing salon atmosphere, and they do a great job cutting hair. However, I would not recommend getting anything waxed here. I had my eyebrows waxed by Michelle and she tore out a chunk of my eyebrow. I've been getting my eyebrows done for 5 years and this has never happened to me before anywhere else, ever. She at least comped the wax and gave me an eyebrow pencil, but obviously this is a frustrating and embarrassing thing to have happen and I will not be going back there, at least for waxing. I don't think Aveda spends enough time training their students in the cosmetology part of the job. read more

I was disappointed in my hair experience all the way around. I went in and said repeatedly that I didn't want a lot of blonde. I also said I wouldn't mind long layers. I came out with a lot of blonde, though little strands, it is a lot of blonde!!!! And I have short layers with one side being about an inch shorter than the other side. I wish you could have money back guarantee.... I can honestly say, I won't be back. read more

Disappointing experience. I was booked randomly with a stylist named Nichole. Loved my blonde highlights but she deliberately colored my roots dark brown-black, darker than I originally walked in with. I was appalled when while she washing the product off my hair, she asked me if I could "return another day; that is, Wednesday ( it was Saturday) so she could cut, dry and style my hair as she took too long with me and the next client would be there soon" in about an hour. I was in shock to hear such proposal. I had never been offered to be left out wet in the cold anywhere in the world. I insisted to receive a full service as booked and she proceeded to, but I ended up regretting it as I she sped through the haircut and left me with the worst rushed semi blow-out style of my life all for a total of almost $200. Days after, I brought my concern to the owner James and he was really empathetic and booked another wonderful stylist Janette at the main Greeley location to fix my color free of charge. Awesome. However, I was disappointed again when they let me go with my hair wet as apparently, hair styling was not included in the color correction service. I really wouldn't have minded even paying for the blow-out if they would have offered to do it for a fee, but they didn't even offer to style it. I went out in the cold with my damp unstyled hair. I really would have returned to see Janet as I really liked her, but after all this ordeal, I decided to follow the advice of friends, family members and coworkers not to comeback. Ugh! I guess I will continue searching for a good stylist and good customer service in Colorado. read more
