Today was my 2nd visit for a root canal and wow Dr.Okefe the dentist & Dr.Raouf the endodontist were both great. Made me feel at ease and answered any questions I had. As someone who's never had a root canal done before, I felt uneasy going into it but I did not feel any pain throughout. Bobby the hygienist was great as well briefing me and made me feel very comfortable there. I believe I found my new dental place. Honestly everyone form the front desk to the Dr's are all great. Highest props to management!

They had said they left a voicemail to confirm the day prior which I did not receive. A text message or call the day of would have been a nice courtesy since I drove far expecting my appointment to be honored. The office was very crowded to begin with and my family member who had an appointment was waiting for 30 minutes past her time. She asked how much longer it would take. They told her they could assess her teeth and schedule a cleaning another time due to the long wait. I have never had an experience like this at a dental office before where they cancel appointments and fail to tell you until you arrive and who don't respect your time by making you wait long past your appointment time. If you can go elsewhere for dental services, I would

Your office advertises limited Sunday availability for extractions, which is the ONLY reason I made that drive. I was trying to avoid going to the ER, where care is often rushed and not handled by dental specialists. I was also explicitly told that although you normally require a Saturday consultation, you would accommodate me by doing BOTH the consultation and extraction the same day if it was needed. Because of that, I followed pre-op instructions, including being NPO after midnight to prepare for conscious sedation. After driving three hours in pain and showing up as instructed, I was met with a doctor who appeared completely unprepared and unsure of what was even scheduled. He had no clear answers, no confidence, and honestly seemed unaware he might be performing surgery that day. When I asked a very simple, direct question--if the tooth needed to come out, would he remove it--I was told he "couldn't give an answer." That is beyond unacceptable. This wasn't a complicated question--it's the entire reason I made the trip. The lack of communication, lack of preparation, and overall lack of professionalism was shocking. The doctor's demeanor alone--shaky, uncertain, and unable to provide basic clarity--was enough for me to lose all confidence in allowing him anywhere near my mouth. No patient in severe pain should be told one thing, follow pre-surgical instructions, drive hours for emergency care, and then be met with confusion and incompetence. If this is the level of coordination and confidence your practice offers, people deserve to know before trusting you with something as serious as oral surgery--especially in an emergency situation.

At the beginning of the month, I was in a terrible rollerblading accident. It was honestly one of…read morethe worst times of my life. The damage to my smile affected me tremendously, and I fell into a severe depression. I was desperate to get my teeth fixed and start feeling like myself again. I was referred to Root Vision Endo in Lakewood. It took some time for them to accept my insurance, but once they did, I scheduled an appointment. The office was clean, and although I was extremely nervous, I trusted that I was in the hands of professionals. The doctor examined and tested three of my teeth. Based on that evaluation, I was told that I needed three root canals. I trusted the diagnosis and agreed to move forward, paying $1,099 out of pocket because I was desperate to restore my smile. Afterward, I returned to my regular dentist and was devastated to learn that two of the teeth that received root canals could not be saved and would need to be removed. I cannot explain how upsetting that was. I had just endured three root canals, the pain and recovery that came with them, and a significant out-of-pocket expense--only to be told that two of those teeth still needed to be extracted. That $1,099 could have gone toward the bridge and restorative treatment I now need. Instead, my treatment has been prolonged, I endured additional procedures, and I am now facing even more dental expenses. I understand that dental outcomes are not always guaranteed and that different providers can have different professional opinions. However, based on my experience, I deeply regret not getting a second opinion before proceeding with three root canals. If you are dealing with a dental emergency or trauma and feeling desperate like I was, please advocate for yourself and consider getting a second opinion before agreeing to major treatment. When you're scared and just want your smile back, it's easy to put all your trust in the diagnosis you're given. Unfortunately, my experience left me extremely disappointed, financially impacted, and still without the restored smile I was trying so desperately to get back.
