I paid $250 for a CT scan, only to be given a CD that my endodontist couldn't even open. Now, I'm having to return for a new CD to give to a different oral surgeon (since I no longer trust this office and need a new referral anyway, even tho I was originally referred here to this oral surgeon). I was told my CD with the results of the scan would be ready at 1:30 pm. I arrived at 1:45 pm, but it wasn't ready. By 2:36 pm, I was told the CD didn't even have the image on it--likely the same issue from the start. When I asked about a refund, the staff argued that what I paid for was "the scan," not the CD. But as a patient, when you pay $250 for imaging, you should expect access to your records in a usable format. I never actually received what I paid for, and the lack of accountability and professionalism has been extremely frustrating. I stayed 10 minutes after they closed the clinic waiting for a resolution, didn't get my CD, didn't get offered a refund and not even a single apology. Just eye rolls and attitude.

I was immediately admitted into Long Beach Memorial. Such a scary experience all the way around - my first time in a hospital that wasn't planned. I was facing multiple surgeries. Dr. Blum was the only doctor to come into my room and explain to me what he was going to do to put my jaw back together. I never saw the other surgeons. One sent an assistant. But Dr. Blum was there to ease my fears and convince me it was no big deal. Really put my mind at rest for the first time in the hospital. The recovery wasn't as bad as I thought, having my jaw wired shut for five weeks. It was at times, uncomfortable, but temporary. In the meantime, I had follow ups and got to know his staff, all very nice and friendly. Special shout out to the office manager, Wendy. Such a help during the whole process, always warm greeting and helped me with all my questions. Office is clean and easy to get in and out of and parking is free! I'm doing much better. I look the same and I'm able to eat all the crap I want now. Almost 100% recovered. Hope I never have to see a maxillofacial surgeon again, but if I do, I'll gladly return to Dr. Blum's office.

I specifically told the…read morereceptionist that my insurance had only been terminated two days ago and had given a new one to update but was told that my new insurance wasn't in network but that my old one was still okay for the visit today. The receptionist tells me it's okay and takes me back anyways but then after my appointment I was suddenly told I owed $250 out of pocket. When I questioned why from the other receptionist she completely changed her story and claimed that I had told her my insurance was still active for the rest of the month which is not what I said at all. I only said I had been terminated two days prior. It feels incredibly dishonest and unprofessional to mislead a patient like that and then shift the blame afterward. If I had been told upfront that my insurance wasn't accepted I would have made a different decision. Transparency matters! Especially when people are making healthcare decisions and trusting your staff to give accurate information.Definitely double-check everything yourself if you go here, because the front desk communication is unreliable and just was trying to cover themselves.

This review is years in the making. I don't typically write negative reviews, especially for small…read morebusinesses, because I understand one experience may not reflect the majority. But in this case, I feel it's important to share. I came to this office years ago after moving to Cerritos, right before my wedding, simply looking for a new dentist and a routine cleaning. They had great reviews, which is why I trusted them. From the start, I was told I had extensive issues--multiple cavities needed to be redone and several crowns were recommended. This was surprising to me, as I've consistently gone to the dentist and had never been told I needed such drastic work. Still, I trusted their assessment. The procedures that followed were some of the most painful dental experiences I've ever had. They took hours, felt extremely aggressive, and left me in severe pain afterward--far beyond what I've ever experienced with dental work. I have a high pain tolerance, and this felt very wrong. What was most frustrating was what happened next. I returned multiple times explaining that I couldn't sleep, eat, or function due to the pain. Each time, my concerns were dismissed and attributed to things like not flossing (umm I couldn't floss because of the extreme pain), which didn't make sense given the level of pain I was in. After pushing back repeatedly--especially with my wedding just days away--I insisted something was seriously wrong and requested further evaluation. It turned out I needed three root canals as a result of their prior work. Separately, the crowns that were placed caused ongoing issues. Eating anything with texture would cause gum pain, and I noticed unusual gaps that trapped food. When I brought this up, I was told the only solution was to redo the crowns at additional cost. My crowns also came off. Later, I happened to see a different dentist at the same office (a female provider who may have been temporary), and she immediately noted that the crowns had been placed at an awkward angle. She corrected them, and since then, I've had no pain and no further issues such as crowns falling off. I ultimately switched dentists and have not needed any major dental work since--just routine cleanings every six months, with no recurring problems. Based on what I went through--particularly the aggressive treatment, the outcome, and the dismissal of my concerns--I feel it's important for others to have full context before making a decision.
