Went to OC Smiles on Friday 3/13/26 for a loose implant because my dentist is closed on Fridays…read more Helena was great and the only good thing i will have to say about my experience. I didn't need a diagnosis, since I told the dentist that my implant was loose. He decided to take a ct scan, charge me for it and charge me for his false "diagnosis." $290 later.. he told me I need a New crown and wanted me to pay $2900 to return for 2 more visits to "fix" it. I Declined his outrageous treatment plan, knowing my implant was just loose. I waited until Monday with no problems and went to my dentist Dr. John Vartanian (Newport Beach) who did the implant for me. He tightened the screw and I was out of there in 10 minutes for free. I believe SoCal Smiles owes me $290 back for their unnecessary scan and incorrect diagnosis. They were trying to sell me something I didn't need and I'm quite upset about how this was handled when I brought it to their attention. I would go elsewhere and not trust this place with your time or money.

Not only did Dr. Gina beat the other places in price, she is really sweet and understanding. You never feel intimidated asking questions, which I really appreciate since I'm more on the timid side. I ended up getting veneers instead of composite bonding. A lot of places will try to upsell you and have you do 6-8 teeth, but Dr. Gina recommended I only do two teeth since I'm young. She keeps up with modern technology. We did a mock up of the teeth and the veneers are made in a lab. The technology she uses also tells her how much to shave off. My veneers blend seemlessly, not bulky and the color is an exact match. The time I came to try my veneers, I asked for more of a rounded shape, and they sent it back to add more, which I really appreciate. Three years ago I had to have a root canal and it was an awful experience. I ended up returning to that dental office 5 times to get them to fix the pain I was still in - eventually I gave up and just dealt with it and it took a year+ for whatever it was to stop hurting. I knew then I had two other teeth I needed to deal with, and I didn't. Instead I waited until one was lost and the other needed a root canal. I found Dr. Matt via a local search for my insurance and his demeanor on the phone instantly relaxed me - so I took the leap and went in. I'm so happy I did! Had the root canal done last Tuesday and zero pain and I wasn't sore afterwards! His calm and kind personality helped so much. I'm even excited to go back and complete the rest of the work needed to get my poor teeth back in good health and me on the road to no more dental issues - ever. Months later, I received a bill from a third-party laboratory (Specialized University Pathologists) for services that were never explained or approved, and my child never visited this practice. When I attempted to resolve the issue, I encountered multiple problems: I was unable to reach anyone for months The laboratory changed their address and phone number after the initial invoice No chain of custody for the specimen could be provided No consent or authorization was on file No documentation linking the test to my child was produced Despite the lack of proof, I was threatened with collections. Ultimately, I paid the bill solely to avoid potential credit damage--not because the charge was valid. What was most disappointing was the lack of support or advocacy from PM Pediatrics in resolving this issue, even though the situation stemmed from care received at their facility. After over a year of effort, I was left with no meaningful assistance. I strongly encourage patients to ask detailed questions about third-party labs and billing practices before agreeing to any testing.

There was a lady in the front that had an attitude and was not positive which affected the experience however, Jose really went above and beyond. He helped push my wheelchair and even brought in a boot and called other clinics to see if they would be able to take my insurance. Unfortunately they do not have imaging at this urgent care so if anyone has laceration issues, do not come here. I felt really cared by Jose and he went above and beyond for the service. It really made the experience bearable since I do not like hospital settings.

I've been seeing Dr. Toner for a few years now and he is wonderful. Not only does he do my dental work, I also just finished Invisalign and my teeth are perfect!! I love their office so much my boyfriend is now a patient and he sees Anamarie who is fabulous. Debbie at the front is super sweet, very inviting and always accommodating. He did a thorough examination, gave me a preliminary explanation of the work I needed to do and was invited back for another appointment to go over everything in detail. When I returned, I was blown away. First, by the technology that he uses and secondly by how much thought and time he put into my needs before I had even given him a penny. I'm not going to lie, I was also blown away by the cost, but his staff worked out a payment plan for me and I have never been happier about my decision to have him do the work. My husband and kids are constantly telling me how beautiful my smile is again, and they are right! Dr Moss is an award winning general and cosmetic dentist. He is also very kind, gentle, detailed, and very knowledgeable. His assistants are also knowledgeable and engaging, kind, funny, and always concerned for my comfort. After waiting an hour, she came into the room asking why the other dentist hadn't fixed it because it was an "easy" thing to do. Well obviously I wanted to go back to her to fix it not another doctor. Then without even looking at my tooth while I'm in pain, the tables turned and she said it was actually very difficult and that I needed to be charged for the fix, after I was already told she could fix it and that it was "easy" for the other doctor. This dentist is clearly greedy and just looking to squeeze as much money out of her patients as possible. She doesn't like to fix the work she messed up in the first place.

There was a lot going on. I was waiting for a camera crew to come out like it was some kind of joke. Then he tried to upsell me on different services, mainly "whitening" I respectfully declined and he couldn't get me out of the chair fast enough. One of my bridges he didn't even floss, he said "well you floss at home right" I said yeah, he goes OK you're done and hands me my purse before I'm even out of the chair while I'm taking off the paper towel. I will say the girls were all friendly and considerate. I think he seemed extremely unprepared, rushed and not able to care for each Individual patient fully.
