Everyone there deserves 5 stars for being kind and patient people. My issue lies with the scheduling and wait time for each appointment. I have had two appointments cancelled by them last minute in the last two years (I only seen them 2x a year). When I get in for an apt I've had to wait over an hour before being seen at least 2 times in the last two years. Today was my last straw. I sat in the chair for 45 minutes with no updates- asked for an update then they said they'd numb me and come back in 10 minutes to begin. After another 45 minutes with no updates now numb I asked for an update. After 1:40 minutes of not being seen I walked out numb with no services done. I am really disappointed because they are a great team, I just don't have a flexible schedule to wait around. When I addressed this they said they are really busy on Saturdays. If that's the case then respectfully then they need to schedule less patients or hire more people to work here that shouldn't be a patients fault. I genuinely wish them the best but I will not be back.

I didn't need a diagnosis, since I told the dentist that my implant was loose. He decided to take a ct scan, charge me for it and charge me for his false "diagnosis." $290 later.. he told me I need a New crown and wanted me to pay $2900 to return for 2 more visits to "fix" it. I Declined his outrageous treatment plan, knowing my implant was just loose. I waited until Monday with no problems and went to my dentist Dr. John Vartanian (Newport Beach) who did the implant for me. He tightened the screw and I was out of there in 10 minutes for free. I believe SoCal Smiles owes me $290 back for their unnecessary scan and incorrect diagnosis. They were trying to sell me something I didn't need and I'm quite upset about how this was handled when I brought it to their attention. I would go elsewhere and not trust this place with your time or money.

Recently, I had accidentally bit into a foreign object that made its way into my takeout order and I was experiencing some pain. Just to be safe and to be sure that nothing horrible happened, I booked a much needed cleaning and checkup. Now, I've been a germaphobe even before COVID, so seeing all the precautionary measures Dr. Chen was implementing for the safety of her and her patients gave me a little sigh of relief. 1) Appointments are staggered so there's nobody in the waiting room at the same time. 2) Deep sanitation of the equipment and chairs before patients are seen. 3) Dr. Chen wears a lot of PPE (gloves, goggles, face masks, face shields, covers, wraps things in plastic, etc.) 4) Minimal need to touch anything inside the office outside of the things necessary for your procedure. I was in and out with x-rays and my cleaning in a jiff. Luckily nothing bad happened and I was just experiencing some temporary soreness from my food mishap.
