Heard the ad on the radio about 11:45 AM and stopped in about 1/2 hour later on a whim. I was skeptical, as I had been there about 3 years earlier and was totally disappointed with the sales staff. Then stopped in about 2 years ago and had the same problems with the sales staff. Both time trying to push me well above the price range I had told them. But, I have had 2 friends get vehicles since that time, so decided to try a 3rd time. Dylan, the Sales Agent who approached me, was polite and I was up front and honest about the past. We sat and talked, he reminded of the sale and that it could not be extended - no problem with that. Inquired about my price range and even what color I was interested in. He then asked if he could show me a few vehicles and let him show me that he was not going to repeat the past. He proceeded to show me 6 different vehicles, all within my price range, and even explained all the little differences between each. Yes, it was his job. We decided to concentrate on Outlander Sport, well within my price range. After a nice test drive, we discussed more about price. He not only kept me within my price range but actually got me below my range. So far, the experience was extremely pleasant and easy. Dylan was professional, not pushy, not full of pressure and more then willing to listen to me and my techno-phobia. 4 hours later, I left him with my badly broken Escape and was driving off the lot in a 2019 Outlander Sport. If the maintenance department can live up to this level of service, I will have no problem recommended both to anyone. For now, I reserve my recommendation to Dylan. read more

Currently on the 5th day without a car. My problem currently is the dealership should honor your warranties promptly, furnish loaner cars. The vehicle has a serious transmission issue. No one there to fix it. Trying to make the customer pay to diagnose the issue, what ?The codes specifically state what work is needed. A class action lawsuit is pending due to this issue. Recommending that no one should purchase these vehicles. Poor service and an obvious transmission issue that the company won't accept responsibility for. Buy elsewhere! If zero was a rating. Thats what I would pick: Dishonest dealership. They will lie to your face to get the sale - Sean. Seems like he's a nice guy but after the sale he isn't. We bought an Ev and they didn't give us the charger , made excuse after excuse that they had to ask the previous owner for the charger? Why would u sell a EV without a charger ?? After weeks of calling they made us drive from Syracuse to Rome to pick it up bc supposedly the charger cord is heavy. Lie. Do not believe that they will get the best interest rate for you bc it's not. Get financed before you go. We traded in a car and made an over payment to the bank for the car we traded in. The bank showed us the proof of money being given to them. We Spoke to the person who handles their accounting and he blantly lied saying they issued the check and mailed it already. Which was a lie. They also said we would have to wait for 90 days to reissue the check to us. We waited patiently and 90 days has passed and now all of sudden the person we spoke to no longer works there. Erika the person who took the same position was rude , started screaming on the phone and hung up on us . Is this the customer service you give your customers when we got two vehicles from you? I had a great experience bringing my vehicle in for service the other day. I had a recall for the seatbelt and they were able to get me right in get that fixed and then a car inspection as well in about an hour. The staff was amazing from the time I walked in. I've never been there before because this is my first Mitsubishi. I also live about a half hour away from them but I would take my car in here again for sure if I have anything going on with it. Got a mailer showing I won $1,000 which I figured was too good to be true, but happen to be in the market for a new car anyway, so I decided to check it out. The salesperson seemed detached and disengaged from the beginning, and just wanted all my info first thing. They said they'd need to do a credit check for...something? I said no, sorry not going to do that. We then walked around the lot looking at different cars. The person didn't want to disclose the prices of the cars for some reason....which is weird. How would I even be able to compare cars if I have no idea what they cost? They did show the price of one new car but would not do the same for the used cars. I wanted to test drive a few but once he knew I was not buying today under any circumstance he was no longer interested. I asked the prices again and he told me to go home and look online to see the prices. We went across the street to the Honda dealership and did some test drives and had a great experience there and will be buying a car from them in the near future. Maybe they should send their sales people over to the Honda dealership for customer service training? Just because someone doesn't want scammy high pressure sales tactics "ARE YOU SURE YOU CANT BUY TODAY???" doesn't mean they are not going to buy soon. Ridiculous. read more

Conned us into purchasing a $30+k (supposedly that's all they could do for us, probably another LIE) vehicle for a family member who was in a pinch and with said "program" after 10 perfect payments, the bank can transfer the loan into the other persons name. The car dealership uses a lotto-looking flyer to get people to come in to claim a supposed prize. Not wanting to drive to not get a prize as it appears from the flyer, I called the number that verifies that you have won and to set up an appointment. The woman they had answer is quite an actress. I gave her the number printed on my envelop. She expressed surprise, "Yes, you ARE a winner!" Very convincing. She did not say, "Yes, everyone is a winner, just that you only get $5." I will not ever recommend this business. In addition, the flyer had several models of cars they were selling. In red and HUGE font, an appealing price would be printed. Reading the mouse print, one sees that this is after a 20% down payment. They should be ashamed of themselves. Or at least they should send out reading glasses with their flyers. read more

I have never been treated with such disrespect and rude behavior as I was when I stopped in to James Cars last Friday. Not one but two individuals, one being a sales manager, treated me as if I was clueless about cars, my trade in cars value, etc. They never gave me a value for my car, which is a limited edition, very low miles car. Yet they expected me to pay $10,000+ over the KBB price for an almost 4 year old vehicle. They want $5,000 more for the vehicle in question, than it cost new. I was lied to over and over with excuse after excuse when I questioned the window sticker price when new. Bad business! I am writing this on behalf of my mom, a resident of Rome, NY... *I visited JAMES MITSUBISHI of Rome, NY recently and test drove an Outlander Sport. I really liked the car and was ready to purchase it. The sales person who waited on me was very nice and helpful. We came to an agreement on the price and I said I needed to discuss this with my husband and would be back later that day to finalize the deal. When I called to let them know that I was not able to get back that day, but instead would be in the following morning, I was told by another, extremely rude and unprofessional sales person that the deal was no longer going to be honored the next day - "do you want the car or not?". I called back the dealership and left a message with the secretary for the owner, James Provenzano or the general manager to call me back about this disrespectful, high pressured way of doing business. Neither one had the decency to return my call. Obviously they do not need my business. I would never recommend buying a car from such a rude and unprofessional dealership. So I was going back and forth about whether or not I should say something about this... I've been nursing my babies for off-and-on 9 years. I have NEVER had a bad experience. Today, that changed. Bear with me here. Thursday, my husband and I went in to buy a vehicle from James Mitsubishi "For The People". We settled on a price, and we were scheduled to come in and pick it up today. They said it was ready to go, and we would be in and out during my husband's lunch break. We get there, and they can't find our car. After 2 hours of dealing with them trying to figure out where they put our car (I had to walk the lot with him to find my "hold" tag finally) now I'm on the phone with the finance company. My baby is hungry, so I ask my husband to grab a blanket so I can feed her. "You better not do that in my showroom." And then....the price was suddenly "whoops it's actually $8,000 MORE than what we came in for. I wouldn't do business with these people. They can't honor a deal. They're rude. If I could give less than that I would. Let's start with filling out a pre auth form online then having to do it again in person. Then ask to have a credit score pulled incorrectly. Then say you are looking for a used car and only be offered new or late models. Then a ridiculous payment. The phone will not give you what you are approved for or the amount of anything. They advertised a $5 down promo on Facebook. Having terrible credit, I contacted them on Facebook and asked if the promo applies to people with terrible credit. They told me it did and set me up with an appointment. When I got there, they then told me that the promo didn't apply to me. Apparently, my credit was too terrible. They told me that I'd need $1000-2000 down ON TOP OF my FREE AND CLEAR trade. They refused to keep their word and honor the promotion that they advertised AND told me I'd be able to get. They deleted my post and banned me from posting on their Facebook page. Avoid this dealer at all costs! Their deleting my post says it all! "The only people who don't want to expose the truth are people with something to hide." Would like the owner to reply to my emails or contact me directly to discuss this situation. I will never be back to this location again. If I could give it no stars, I would. To start things off, my mom and I got a flier in the mail called Mega lottery ticket thing. We matched 2500 and the directions on it were not clear. It said match the numbers, we matched the 2500, and win a prize. The prizes it listed were: his and hers cars/$40,000, $10,000, $2,500, $500 Visa gift card or $100 Walmart gift card. So me and my mom thought we won $2,500 since that's what we matched. It said to call the number to verify that you're a winner. That wasn't an issue. When I called, a girl named Heather answered. She seemed friendly enough, was questioning what car my mom drives and if she would be willing to trade it. I know what my mom wants so I filled her in and she said okay. She said that we were a winner and that we have to make the drive 50 miles to Rome since we live in Cicero. And that i had to make a "VIP appointment." But wouldn't tell me what that appointment included. So I went with it knowing we would win a prize. She started texting me instead of my mom. My mom would text her and she would text me in response. So my mom and I drove the 50 miles there and luckily the weather was nice. When we got there, there were cars parked in every direction. The parking lot is WAY too small for an event like this. They had parking spaces full so cars were forced to park sideways in the middle of the aisle so other cars couldn't move or go anywhere. It was chaos trying to get in and out of there. So when we walked in, there was popcorn on the floor which was also dirty. There is almost no seating so people were standing or sitting on the curb inside. They had the big version of the Outlander inside, which shouldn't be in there as it's too big and takes up a lot of space in which they could use for seating, but no they have to stick a giant SUV there. So we sat down on the curb inside and moved to a table when one opened up. There had to be at least 10 people there for the flier alone. Then a salesperson, his name I believe was Joe, came over to us. He immediately tried to sell us a car, ignoring why were there entirely. He didn't even look twice at the flier they mailed out. He immediately started questioning my mom on what car she wanted, etc. etc. And he was very annoying about it. Joe this is where the flier gets you, for the Walmart gift card, it says in incredibly tiny print "up to" $100 Walmart gift card. You couldn't see the "up to" part unless you really looked, that's how tiny the print was. So' when my mom said she wanted payments no more than $460, he said "I can't do that." And immediately started in with an attitude. I already got a bad vibe from this guy and now he was just angering us both. So he says "well let's just go over to my computer." So we followed him to his computer. Now this "wheel" Heather spoke about was not a wheel. It was a spin app on the computer. To get the $2,500 prize, you had to match three 7's in a row. We didn't. We got a bunch of different numbers. So we won a $5 Walmart gift card. A $5. Walmart. Gift card. We drive 101 miles around trip just for a measly $5 gift card. That's was almost $30 in gas. So my mom and I got even more upset as this guy, Joe, was already ridiculous and stupid. This couple got a the $5 gift card prize too but they ended up walking out with $30 worth of $5 Walmart gift cards. But we didn't get more than the $5 one. And when my mom confronted the guy he simply said "well that's what you won so that's what you get." And we said we wouldn't be back and we won't buy a car from them. Not a fan that every time I schedule an oil change I get a phone call about my interest in purchasing a new car. I have a 2017, I don't need a new car. I was just in for an oil change and they told me I needed rear brakes and rotars asap, mine are metal on metal and quotes me almost $400. We were looking at a Mitsubishi mirage we really liked the car. A young man { new salesperson } came over and chated a bit then asked if we would like to take a test drive. He had no business card yet as he was new however we exchanged information. He was really a nice polite young man. Then he went in to get the keys for the test drive. One minute later he came out and was apologetic saying they told him unless I planned on purchasing the vehicle that day they told him I could not take a test drive. Did anyone ever here of such a thing. Why would I commit myself to purchasing a vehicle if I never test drove it to see if I liked it. Any ways I was tired and thought nothing of it as I lived close by and could test drive it anytime and just wanted to go home and relax/ After getting home and thinking about it I thought who the heck commits to buying a vehicle without test driving it . Anyways I called the 800 no. for Mitsubishi they said they never heard of such a thing.and told me to call the general manager of james misubishi and ask him the reason why .I wasn't allowed to test drive . I called him Friday Saturday and finally Monday he got back to me. and said the reason ( is that when we do a test drive were hopeing that your actually interested in buying that day and we would have to get your information and stuff like that. then go from there You know what I mean ) were his exact words . I,m assuming that wanted to run my credit before taking a drive as I gave the young salesperson my infor name address phone etc. so what else was there. I was lured from my home in Oswego, NY out to this dealership in Rome, NY about an hour and a half away. I spoke on the phone to a woman who told me of a new "People For People Plan" that was created to help people with damaged credit obtain a newer car. Also, the Mitsubishi dealer ( James Mitsubishi in Rome) was offering $4000.00 minimum trade-in value for any vehicle you could drive, push or tow onto their lot. Upon arriving, instead of being welcomed and a friendly preamble into the sales pitch, the salesman went straight for the jugular...credit and cash down. He demanded 20% cash down on the car I had traveled so far to see; a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander. When I said I was not prepared to do that, he said "no problem", let me talk to my sales manager. He said upon reviewing my credit, that there would be no deals made today. I enquired about the possibility of a less expensive car, or perhaps a lease or a certified used car. The ONLY offer he came back with was the purchase of a Mitsubishi G4, a car so tiny I could not sit up straight in it. On top of that, he demanded over $1700.00 cash down and a monthly payment north of $460.00. I mentioned the payments in the advertisement, and brought up the $4000.00 trade value again. He as much as told me (not in these exact words) that the trade offering meant nothing. It was designed to get people into the showroom. He began to pick apart my trade, asking a zillion questions nowhere near the push, pull or tow advertisement. I left with my trade. These people are full of baloney. read more

Unfortunately I didn't even get far enough to purchase a car there. I went in looking to trade in my Acura for another SUV I was 100% set on an SUV and even told the sales guy that. First I asked about the $4,000 trade-in deal that they had going on he informed me that it was only for new cars and that with the car I was trading in I wouldn't have been able to get a brand new SUV only a car. A small car at that. When I told him again that I wasn't looking for a car I asked him if we could talk about the used cars they had and maybe I could go that route. While he told me that for some reason I wouldn't be able to get a used car spell chop trying to sell me the new Mitsubishi Mirage. I left there and went to Davidsons they showed me the Used Cars that I was interested in, got me approved for $27000 and I traded in my Acura for a 2014 Chevy Equinox. Maybe if the sales guy took the time to show me vehicles that I was interested in he could have made a sale! Stop trying to force people into cars they clearly don't want. I was pushed into a Mitsubishi Mirage buy a Salesman named Joe Caruso. I was not able to test drive the vehicle nor did I get a good look at it because it was so dirty. Upon delivering the vehicle to me it was not detailed inside or out and there was damage on one of the doors. I told them I could wait and come back and get it Monday, this was on a Friday when I picked it up. The salesman I dealt with that day told me I could bring it back in and they would do everything necessary. What they didn't tell me when I set up the appointment with the service center but I need a credit card in order to take a loaner. He insisted he told me on the phone that I needed a credit card, he did not or I would not have driven from Chittenango New York all the way out to Rome New York for nothing because I do not have a credit card. Bottom line is they did not live up 2 their responsibility and clean the car inside and out. They did not fix the dent in the door nor did they fix the molding that's hanging. I will be contacting the owner or the general manager after I leave this review. I don't suggest did anyone go there because they just bring a car around and you don't get to look at any others because that is the one they chose that fits you best whether you like it or not.
