Our taxes are moderately complicated with some W2 stuff, some self-employment business stuff, rental property, property sales (capital gains), etc. and while some firms I have worked with in the past struggled to get it all correct and submitted on time, Frederiksen-Crawford has been meticulous about getting it all correct, on time every single year. They are professional, informative, easy to work with, diligent, and effective and make what could be a painful tax season feel fair and relatively painless. Thank you Frederiksen-Crawford! Steve went with me (no CHARGE), and well, the first tax-guy was too low on the totem pole to understand the tax rules, or actually make ANY decisions, So Steve accompanied me to the 'BIG' Audit (just another guy, only one that COULD make decisions and understand the tax laws), and all was forgiven.

When I contacted the law firm of Robert Goldstein, I had seven years of unfiled and unpaid taxes,…read moreand the IRS was threatening me with levies and seizures. I was in a panic, had no idea how to work with the IRS, and certainly had no way to pay the tens of thousands of dollars of past due taxes, interests, and penalties. Mr. Goldstein and his staff immediately put my mind at ease. I began to understand what the various steps would be, what documents I would need to file, and learned that the levies against my bank accounts would be lifted. The letters from the IRS stopped, and my anxiety began to calm down. Over a period of time, his staff collected all of the necessary documentation from the IRS so that we could file the missing returns. Although I had many questions, they were always patient and informative. Finally, they drafted an Offer in Compromise, which the IRS accepted. This saved me a very large amount of money. I couldn't be happier with the efficiency, supportive communications, and of course, the final result. Don't make the mistake of expecting a CPA to handle the complexities of dealing with the IRS; you need an experienced tax attorney. It's the best investment you could make.

I strongly caution anyone considering Stern and Associates for tax services. Our experience with…read moreCarol Fullam and Amy were awful and involved months of communication delays, unfulfilled commitments, and ultimately being dropped as clients on Tax Day itself. My husband worked with this firm for 6 months to assist with what seemed to be a complicated tax scenario (but was handled in less than a week by a new CPA). Communication was unreliable throughout, including repeated instances where they claimed to have sent questions or requests that were never delivered. In February, my husband introduced me so we could file jointly, as my individual return is very straightforward. Despite this, simple questions regarding their fee structure, required documents, and basic filing steps routinely took over a week to answer. When I called Amy directly for clarity, she appeared distracted and admitted she had left my emails unanswered because she didn't know the answers, telling me to contact Carol instead. I followed up politely asking for Carol's guidance via phone or email, noting that I had been waiting 1.5 months just to understand how to proceed and pay them. Carol refused phone calls, so I asked if they were simply at capacity so I could look elsewhere. Carol's immediate response was to drop me as a client. Following this, I asked for written confirmation that my uploaded sensitive tax records would be deleted from their portal. Amy claimed they were purged, but I logged in and found my documents were still active. When I followed up requesting screenshot verification, they ignored me entirely, leaving serious data privacy concerns unresolved. Two weeks later--on the actual day of the tax filing deadline--the firm contacted my husband out of the blue and dropped him as well, claiming they felt uncomfortable because my polite and easy administrative inquiries were "too much" (their words, not mine). Wasting six months of work and abandoning a client on the deadline is completely unprofessional. Avoid this firm if you need reliable communication and secure handling of your financial records. They have no idea what they are doing. If my experience doesn't convince you, just look at the business owner's responses to other negative reviews. They routinely expose private, personal client financial data and tax histories just to get the last word. This public retaliation is completely unethical, violates strict CPA confidentiality rules, and can result in severe legal fines. Wonder if anyone has reported this yet..
