He is very easy to communicate with and has outstanding bedside manners. The office staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and always helpful. Mrs. Chang is in charge of billing and will sometimes personally accompany you back to the examining room. She has in the past administered the EKG, blood pressure check, and weigh in :). Dr. Chang will start my annual physical right after the initial checks are complete. I have never experienced any delays to my appointments over the years. What a great family business. If you are looking for an excellent internist go no further. I believe Dr. Lawrence Chang is the best and I highly recommend him.

His quick thinking and action led to discovery of a 90 percent blockage in my right Carotid Artery. 3 days in the ICU for removal of the blockage in my carotid artery, your'e one lucky son of a b...h you should be dead" according to my ophthalmologist ! At this appointment, he asked me if I had any issues and I said that I thought I had a wart on my foot. He looked at it and declared that it was a Corn and asked me if I would like some of the callous around it cut down to relieve some pressure. Without even thinking about it, I said sure and it took him 30 seconds to shave a little callus on my heel. I was extremely surprised when I received a bill from Providence and saw that they were charging $256 for cutting of the skin and $487 for surgery. To add insult to injury, I had been to the dermatologist in the meantime, and I found out that it was indeed a wart on my foot and not a corn. I appealed to Providence only to have them deny my claim. I am now appealing with my insurance company, but wanted to post this as a warning to other potential clients that this practice and this doctor in my opinion are scamming patients and insurance companies for procedures not performed.

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember and have never had a bad experience until now…read more The nurses and front desk staff are always friendly and helpful, no complaints there. My primary care doctor, Dr. Serna, is amazing and always takes great care of me. I had an appointment with her today, but the office called to let me know she wasn't in and asked if I wanted to reschedule or see another doctor. Since I've been in significant ear pain, I chose to see Dr. Ashizawa just to get a referral to an ENT. My appointment was at 3:00, but he didn't come in until 3:50. After briefly looking in my ear and doing a quick ear drum test, he said nothing was wrong and that there was nothing more he could do. I asked if he could please send a referral to an ENT since I'm in a lot of pain and pressure, but he shrugged and said there was no point because they wouldn't do anything different. That's simply not true, he barely investigated the issue. I left after two hours with no diagnosis or help and am now debating whether to go to the ER or pay out of pocket to see a specialist. I'd highly recommend avoiding Dr. Ashizawa, he seemed completely dismissive and uninterested in helping his patients.

This happens multiple time and just today I was returning a call that was left on my voicemail about my referral and I was going through the automated system again. Finally got a Patient Navigator and said I was returning a call left on my voicemail. I wasn't able to talk to that person that left the message on my voicemail and had to make an appointment for a consult. So now I have to drive back to the doctors office just to see what the voicemail was about. Anyone else having issues with this Automated Phone System they now have? If so, you need to speak up. What ever happened to talking to a live person from the doctors office you go too. Other than that the Doctors, Staff, and Patient Navigators are great. Been going there for over 20 years.

Just moved here a year ago and it's been hard finding a good doctor…read more Had my appointment today and very impressed how much she listens and takes her time with you. They just moved into the offices from another office, so the only downside is it was inviting at first how bare it was with no decorations and boxes everywhere. She took her time with me. My veins had collapsed years ago for another medical condition so I was worried they were gonna poke and prod my arm. She gently took her time finding my small vein and got it the first time without picking my arm out like other doctors in the past. On top of that she did it herself, not a nurse. Glad I found a good doctor in SOC to get my physicals done!
