I had an oil change done with you on December 17, all was good until March 29th when I was driving and noticed the car driving rough. When I reached my destination there was a burning smell with no obvious source. I checked under the hood and checked the oil, since per my milage I was due for an oil change and to my surprise the dip stick was clean, checked again and no oil on it. I was able to get 5 qts, put it in and took it straight to a repair shop where they found a leak from the oil filter housing and oil cooler assembly. I had no issue with either of those things before getting my oil changed at your business. read more

Giving three stars and not one because the service writer was professional and the oil change was quicker than expected. when I received the bill for an oil change on my pickup, it was over $200. I was expecting that price, but when I paid, they added a 3% credit card fee without warning. The cashier pointed to a small sign in the cashier window. Instead of warning of the fee, I already had the work done and couldn't just leave. Had I been warned BEFORE the work, I would've went somewhere else. When I commented I would never return, a gentleman identified himself as a manager and said he'd take care of it, and didn't. I went to this deal for service because of the bad experiences at another dealer. I will NOTreturn to this dealer for service. They made a tidy profit off this service and still charged a 3% fee when no other dealer I've been to does. 3% becomes an issue when you're getting high priced service done. read more

I noticed some issues with my Jeep Grand Cherokee so I called and made an appointment. When I made my appointment I went over all the issues I was having and made a time to drop it off. When dropping it off no one knew why and said there was not an appointment. There was also staff standing around having a good time laughing while I stood there waiting for someone to help me. Then finally when I got someone to help I went over the issue with him. I got a rental car and went home. The next day one problem was fixed and I was called to pick up the vehicle. I asked about the other issues which then someone started to address. The issues were 2 dents I am willing to pay have removed, the battery needed to be replaced in the key fob which was not, I need a new key as I only received one with the vehicle. That was ordered and I have paid for it but don't have it. There is a rubber piece missing under the hood which I paid for and was ordered last day so of course I don't have it and then an oil change. There also was a broken door lock that was replaced. On the oil change I noticed when I was getting home the oil change light turned on and there was no oil change sticker. I called and asked Kim was the oil changed? Sure sure sure it was I got. I asked can you please confirm? She said yes and I'll call you back tomorrow and let you know. She never called back. Seems a little fishy now I needed to take my vehicle to another place for an oil change! If this is a common occurrence at your operation it's something you should focus on. Also this whole ordeal cost me $890 with your dealership $250 for the car rental and only 1 out of 5 of my issues was addressed and cost me hours and hours of time repeating my issues daily and $250 in rental car coverages and my oil change light and a little sticker can't be put in my window to tell me when my next oil change is due to help me remember. Also none of my repairs were covered by the factory warranty! 2 year old Jeep with 20,000 miles! Makes me want to get rid of this vehicle right now and it still rides bad! 1 star is all I can give for your staff being nice people. As far as performance I'm sorry but 0 stars. If you care about your customer service performance have a meeting with your people and tell them to make sure they reset the oil light and put the sticker in the window when they changed the oil! If they don't like whoever did mine give them a warning and tell them they will be fired on the 3rd time! read more

Traveling through area needed an oil change and a check engine light and a noise on left front wheel area diagnosed on my jeep jk. They replaced both front hubs and determined the engine light was a bad gas cap. Two weeks later engine light came back with same code and I was having noise in front wheel. I pulled tire off to look at hub and noticed the hub nut was not tightened. I sent the service advisor a picture of it and I snugged it down but not torqued and took it back. Dealer called me at end of day and has no idea why light is on, and they said the hub nut was already tight. They said the mechanic put the impact wrench on it and it was tight. Ummm, I told them that I snugged it down so I could drive it to them without doing any damage and that I doubt an impact wrench was not a very good torque wrench for 100 foot pounds. They said they would have him put a torque wrench on it. Not very pleased with attention to detail. read more

Drove over 3 hours to purchase a vehicle that I was told would be pulled up and ready for us when we got there. When we showed up they were in the process of selling the vehicle to someone else. After being told that I should wait because this other person probably won't get financing for the vehicle anyway we left. After leaving we got a call saying the other buyer didn't get financing so it was ours to buy, No Thanks. They lost the sale today. I don't consider this dealership to be an honest if they can't hold to their word and won't ever get my business. Why tell me it'll be ready to go then try to sell it before I get there? And also the way that they talked about the other customer which was a young lady was very disturbing. This review is for the service dept and specifically the guys working on Dec 26. I had a new stereo put in my new jeep in Kansas City. Drove it to my parents for christmas and on the morning of the 26th, I left to drive the 500 miles back to KC. My new stereo wouldnt turn on, and I had a NOFUSE message on the dash. I pulled into BoBB Jeep to see if they could assist, since I figured it was probably a quick fix. I walked in and the guy behind the counter sighed and said "Well do our best, but if I have to order a new radio, i cant get it in today." I told him the radio is aftermarket, and he said "Why would you put in an aftermarket radio?" Cause no one ever customizes a Wrangler, right? I explained that I had a no fuse message on the dash, and he and another mechanic looked in the fusebox, and told me that everything was fine and the problem was the install. I had to drive 500 miles home with no radio. Took it back to best buy this morning, and the tech popped the hood, and pushed the fuse that was causing the message into place, looked at me and said "That mechanic was an idiot," and charged me $25 dollars. See, there is a fuse that is disabled when a Jeep is in transport, and mine must have never been fully engaged. The road vibrations dislodged it. It took the best buy tech 10 seconds to google what the fusebox should look like, and the Mechanics at BoBB, just didnt seem to give a shit. Thanks guys! read more

Update 9/28/17 When I bought my car in 2014 I also purchased 4 oil changes. Came in today and was told they expired... um what?? I purchased 4 oil changes and haven't used them all. This place is the biggest ripoff and so shady!! I would not recommend them to anyone. Even if you think you're getting a deal trust me when I say you're paying for it somewhere and probably more than you think. I can't wait to get new car so I'm not driving around advertising for them. It makes me sick to know I supported this place. **the service guy "took care of" my oil change... oh the one I'm entitled to since I paid for it?! Gee thanks for doing the right thing but doing it as a "favor".** Brought my car in for an oil change and have been waiting an hour. There was only one lady who was in front of me and she was not getting an oil change. The person who was ordered to do my oil change wash and tire rotation walked in and said he would do it AFTER he got coffee...he was just getting to work at 8am. Once I'm done with my oil changes I've paid for, I will not be back. This isn't the first time I've had to wait a more than reasonable amount of time for service. If you don't take oil change appointments you can't expect customers to wait forever until your employees get around to actually working. You can keep your "free" carwash. My time is worth more. I won't be back to buy another car here even though LeeAnn seemed ok. The friend who referred us to them had a horrible experience the next time they were buying a car (which was shortly after I purchased my vehicle). It was good or so-so when it was Bobbs but now the new ownership is very in responsive and show you 0 respect. I will never darken there doors again. I haven't ever dealt with a dealership that was so friendly and accommodating! I purchased a van from them. They found me exactly what I wanted and had it there in three days. Even the paperwork process wasn't as daunting as I've experienced in the past with other dealers. The same goes for the service department. Always helpful and pleasant to deal with. Yesterday my wife and I went to James Jeep to test drive a newJeep SUV. We were met by Quincy (sales rep). This was not an impulse as I have been researching new SUVs since February and had narrowed it down to a Jeep SUV and an Equinox. Quincy was very professional, knowledgeable with no high pressure, false or misleading information. He was honest in answering my questions. I am a senior citizen and I have purchased MANY new cars in my life. I can state with NO reservations that this purchase was the best buying experience that I have in purchasing a NEW SUV. I cannot over state the great experience and deal that Quincy provided. I will HIGHLY recommend James Jeep and Quincy to family, friends and anyone thinking of buying a NEW Jeep or a NEW Chrysler or any used car brand. My suggestion to anyone leery of visiting a car dealer, because of past incidents is simply to visit James Jeep and ask for Quincy. You can tell Quincy that you want to walk away with a purchase as pleased as Floyd and Freida were with their purchase. I know that he will accommodate your request. I put a deposit on a vehicle & the next day they said they were not able to get that vehicle, and to come in for my deposit, which I did, but it was not ready & that it would be a 3-4 day wait, & I still do not have it, 7 days & I am still waiting. My bank cleared the check 6 days ago. Bobbs said I have to prove to them that it cleared their bank. Not happy. I put a deposit on another vehicle at a different dealership, saved a lot of $, and would never, ever deal with Bobbs. My step daughter purchased a vehicle from this place, everyone was very nice, they put her in a nice vehicle with the payments where she wanted them. The vehicle started have problems overheating, it's been back 4 or 5 times, they keep saying nothing is wrong. On of those times, they said it was probably the thermostat and if she found a garage to change the thermostat they would pay for it, which she did, and as soon as the car was done, they called and said they wouldn't pay for it. Then my son went to them, they "pre-approved" him, but when he went to look at the vehicle he saw on line. They said he couldn't purchase that one - because of the age and mileage.(then why is it on line) Then after finding a different vehicle, he was told he needed 1k down or a co-signer - so he got a co-signer, they called and told him even with the co-signer he would need 2k down. On January 20th, 2018 I traded in my wife's high-mile 2016 Jeep Trail Hawk and updated it to a 2018 Trail Hawk model. Our salesman was "Big John" and he was terrific to work with. On a very cold, cold wintery day he went outside with us and showed us all the Trail Hawks and explained some of the updated features for each vehicle. It was a Saturday and very busy at Bobb's Auto Group (Cedar Lake), but after some price haggling back and forth, we came to a financial agreement. Like I said it was a very busy so my wife and I had to wait an extended period before we could see the Financial Director Rob Beem, who was also great to work with, to sign our contract. There was no pressure from him to add your typical sales pitched "after ad on packages", which I usually dreaded. If the above was my only dealings with Bobb's Auto Group dealership regarding this purchase, I would of rated them 5-STARS...........however, I had traded in my wife's 2016 Trail Hawk on "January 20th" and had already pre-paid for the February 2018 payment, so when they called and received the 10-day payoff amount, I was not worried about having to make another payment on the traded in vehicle........HOW I WAS SO WRONG......On March 3rd, 2018 (a Saturday) I received a late payment notice from my bank, via text, on the 2016 Trail Hawk for it's March 2018 payment..........I immediately called Bobb's Auto Group and spoke to a manager, who stated that I would have to call back on Monday to talk to the back office regarding my situation......Since I had to work Monday, my wife called Bobb's Auto Group and spoke to a receptionist and stated that she wanted to speak with the person handling vehicle payoffs........the receptionist giggled and stated "Let me guess, your vehicle loan wasn't payed off" before transferring her.......long story short, I ended up having to make another payment on the 2016 Trail Hawk in March (along with a payment for the 2018 Trail Hawk) to prevent a derogatory and late payment remark on my credit report.......I would still recommend Bobb's Auto Group for the buying experience, but until they fix whatever problems they are having in the back office regarding vehicle payoffs, I would highly recommend keeping abreast of your traded in vehicle's loan amount and to call Bobb's Auto Group immediately after 10-days to inform them that your trade in loan wasn't paid off.......... read more

I brought my car in to be fixed and was greeted by a very rude individual named Russel, so rude, I left their busisness in tears. They claimed they fixed my car and I paid the following amount. When I went to leave, I started my car, and it still did the same grinding/clicking start up and the engine light was still on, along with another error (which is why I brought the car in the first place). When I expressed my frustration, that I just paid for something that wasn't even fixed and would like my money back until they fix it I was told No. I was also told it was fixed again on 12-11-19 but this time is it magically covered under warranty. There is no doubt theyre stealing my money, as what they fixed wasnt even a concern and I was told what they fixed was specifically regarding the engine light error and the error was still there when I picked it up! They're extremely nasty towards their customers and I do not agree with the way they handled this situation and robbed me of my money. I was also told it was half way fixed, well if it was halfway fixed, then why did I pay a full amount ? It wasn't half way fixed the first time, it wasn't fixed at all. Ridiculous and disappointing busisness to deal with and I would never buy another car from there, as this is our 4th car from them it surely is the last. The fact that I got my car back in the same condition I brought it in and then was told it was fixed is pathetic. I have a mixed review of this "Stealership". I was having problems with my Dodge Ram throwing codes for running too lean. I knew that the truck had 3 recalls on it already for some minor stuff that needed to be checked. Im a bit of a mechanic, and did a lot of minor troubleshooting and replacement of the least expensive parts first to narrow it down. Well, when I brought the truck in, I asked them if they could check on the errors it was getting. I told them I had already changed some particular sensors, and I felt that it was an error with the o2 sensors. They called me up and said that they had to hook it up to their computer and that would be $100. Ok, go ahead I guess, as long as I get it fixed finally. They called me back and told me there is a problem with the o2 sensors. I told them, yea, I already told you that. The tech said that it might be a electrical problem and would have to trouble shoot it some more. It would be another $100. Well, I cant really do the electrical troubleshooting, so, yea I guess so. Then it will finally be fixed. An hour later, they call me back and say, they think its the o2 sensors. Uh, isn't that what I told you when I brought it in here? So basically, two hours cost me $200 plus change for them to hook it up to their computer and tell me what I told them when I brought it in. And to top it off, "we don't have the o2 sensors, we have to order them. It will be $700 total for the computer reading, and sensor install." Are you Fing kidding me? Four sensors and an install that takes 30 mins is going to cost me another $500? No thanks. Ill just change them myself. I would have been better off just changing the expensive stuff first and would have still saved money. Unless you have to go here, just steer clear. Take it somewhere else. Hell, the techs were a bunch of 20 year olds that probably don't know what their doing anyway. read more
