Wow, it is really unfortunate Julia R. that you had an unpleasant experience at Family Dentistry. My 12 yr old daughter and I became patients of Family Dentistry in September of this year, for the same exact reasons you stated: 1) At Family Dentistry, the dentists, the staff, most especially Angela, welcomed my daughter & I into their very family oriented office, from our first encounter on the telephone and again when we walked into their very family oriented waiting area; 2) location and great office hours; 2 mins from my daughter's school; and 3) they accepted my insurance and made payment arrangements manageable for my family while anxious about the long orthodontic and dental road ahead of us both. The credit card request was not an unusual one either, as with an orthodontist practice, they will be providing care to his patients for a set time frame and this has become the norm in many offices.
My 12 yr old was scheduled to have teeth removed and it was not an easy task to have her sit still without crying, even at her age. While I had prepared her for what would take place, she was still nervous with all eyes on her. I cant begin to imagine the anxiety of a toddler with 4 sets of adult eyes on her. Everyone was kind, soft spoken and patient, even while I held her hand and she cried. Angela, was the one who had helped to calm her before going in, and then also came in to check on her when she was crying and I was on the floor holding her hand. There was no rudeness, barging in, or yelling. In fact, it was Angela that called the night my daughter had her teeth removed (8:00 pm) to make sure she was doing ok.
As soon as we stepped through the doors of Family Dentistry and met everyone, my daughter was at ease and now actually enjoys and looks forward to her appointments with Dr. DiCicco and getting hugs from Angela and Samantha once a month, before and after her appointments.
It is unfortunate that someone had an unpleasant experience, but I am writing this to say we are real patients who absolutely LOVE going to the dentist and the staff at Family Dentistry.
It is important for me to say that Angela is the glue there and as the Office Administrator, runs a very organized, professional and welcoming office. I have never heard anything less than friendly, caring and professional manners come out of that office.
I came on to write about how wonderful and caring Angela , Dr. DiCicco, Dr. Ribalt and their staff have been, especially after my daughter's extractions on November 4th. They made a very difficult situation, much easier.
I would hate to have someone read the 10-30-13 review and think it was accurate in any way. It is not!!!!! However, it is someone's opinion after one appointment and I am able to say, I see consistency each and every time we arrive.
If you are looking to bring your child, children, or even yourself for care, THIS IS REALLY A FAMILY DENTISTRY PRACTICE and a place where you can ask and get answers, and a smile and a family that does care about your dental needs, without making it a dreadful task. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE AS THEIR NAME HOLDS TRUE TO WHAT THEY REPRESENT.
