I decided on Dr. Sokoloff because of his stellar reputation and his kind and positive manner. I appreciated the time he took to explain the entire process to myself and my children. Dr. Sokoloff was also very honest and upfront regarding costs, which we found reasonable compared to others we had looked into. The office staff made working with our insurance company and arranging a payment plan easy and stress free. Over the years we saw Dr. Sokoloff, he was professional, encouraging, and patient. When my daughter went through some unrelated health problems that affected her ability to stay on top of appointments, he was understanding, compassionate, and accommodating. He went out of his way to make the necessary changes needed to assure she stayed on track until completion, without any further burden to us. When my son was away and lost his retainers, the office found us a local orthodontist in another state that he could go to get scanned so he didn't have rush home or wait for replacements. I will always be grateful for the way Dr. Sokoloff, Dr. Campbell (a wonderful addition to the practice), Patricia (at the front desk), and the rest of the staff have gone above and beyond for my family. He is very thorough and always takes the time to explain what's going on in my mouth using cutting edge technology, and reviews ways to improve my hygiene in order to prevent any damage. They are completely focused on prevention and do not recommend procedures that are not necessary. Tracy always does an amazing job cleaning my teeth, and gives me great tips on how to keep my gums healthy, whether it's a special type of floss or which is the best toothbrush to use, and her name is Tracy you cant go wrong there.. Personally, I have terribly tusks. One could even say I am the owner of insubordinate ivory incisors.... Needless to say, Ive seen many dentist offices. From the first step inside I was beckoned to the modern front desk, riddled with computers of all shapes and sizes. To my left, a rotunda of Apples, computers that is- about 6 of them all loaded up with inviting games and graphics. Flat Screen TVs abound. The examination rooms entail the perfect blend between professional functionality and, well, FUN- perfect for extraction entertainment- a true Dental Diversion (but only for the patient) as Dr. Cooper is a truely gentle, caring, yet utterly comprehensive EXPERT in his field. Ok so I'm getting my Invisalign treatment from Dr. Tina here who is a great person. I had a free…read moreconsultation for the treatment with another doctor (can't remember her name) and felt very welcomed and comfortable with her too. The receptionist just is the nicest person possible. However, my issue with this place is their lack of communication with the patient regarding the treatment plan. I plan on detailing my Invisalign journey with this place so here's the part 1: I got my X-rays taken and the trays arrived 2-3 weeks after which is standard. When I went in to get my trays, I had an uncomfortable experience. I had two people working on my teeth (had no idea what they were doing and neither did they explain). Clearly one of them was learning and the other was training her. I felt uncomfortable with my teeth being in someone's hand who probably had not done it before. At one point I said 'it's hurting' and the response was a curt 'I know.' This was a shocker, I mean she could have explained to me in a better way like oh this is normal because of ... " but nope. I was never told AT ALL that I was going to get huge attachments on the teeth in addition to the aligners. I'm sure there's good reason I got the attachment but I was extremely unhappy with the lack of communication. I almost felt betrayed because I was excited about getting 'invisible' aligners but no one told me I would have VERY visible attachments along with it. I came home and then after several people pointed out the attachments I called Dr Tina and she was nice enough to have me come back and see the issue. She told me attachments are important due to x y z etc but my issue was why didn't anyone tell me about the attachments before the treatment. It's my day 2 on Invisalign and I'm pretty ok with the Invisalign experience but I wish the doctor had told me earlier about the attachments so I could be mentally ready. I didn't know how many trays in total I needed for the treatment so I had to ask. All I knew was i need to change trays every 2 weeks. I had to probe the assistant about how many hours to wear Invisalign and what precautions to take, I wasn't told ANYTHING. I still find myself searching for answers on google as I wasn't guided at all by the staff or the doctor. I'll keep you all posted if the experience improves in the next few appointments.
