I decided on Dr. Sokoloff because of his stellar reputation and his kind and positive manner. I appreciated the time he took to explain the entire process to myself and my children. They both felt much more comfortable knowing what to expect and having the opportunity to ask questions. Dr. Sokoloff was also very honest and upfront regarding costs, which we found reasonable compared to others we had looked into. The office staff made working with our insurance company and arranging a payment plan easy and stress free. Over the years we saw Dr. Sokoloff, he was professional, encouraging, and patient. When my daughter went through some unrelated health problems that affected her ability to stay on top of appointments, he was understanding, compassionate, and accommodating. He went out of his way to make the necessary changes needed to assure she stayed on track until completion, without any further burden to us. When my son was away and lost his retainers, the office found us a local orthodontist in another state that he could go to get scanned so he didn't have rush home or wait for replacements. I will always be grateful for the way Dr. Sokoloff, Dr. Campbell (a wonderful addition to the practice), Patricia (at the front desk), and the rest of the staff have gone above and beyond for my family. Braces aren't ever going to be sexy and fun, especially for grown-ups, but Dr. H and his staff did everything they could to minimize the pain and hassle of having them.

The receptionist just is the nicest person possible. However, my issue with this place is their lack of communication with the patient regarding the treatment plan. I plan on detailing my Invisalign journey with this place so here's the part 1: I got my X-rays taken and the trays arrived 2-3 weeks after which is standard. When I went in to get my trays, I had an uncomfortable experience. I had two people working on my teeth (had no idea what they were doing and neither did they explain). Clearly one of them was learning and the other was training her. I felt uncomfortable with my teeth being in someone's hand who probably had not done it before. At one point I said 'it's hurting' and the response was a curt 'I know.' This was a shocker, I mean she could have explained to me in a better way like oh this is normal because of ... " but nope. I was never told AT ALL that I was going to get huge attachments on the teeth in addition to the aligners. I'm sure there's good reason I got the attachment but I was extremely unhappy with the lack of communication. I almost felt betrayed because I was excited about getting 'invisible' aligners but no one told me I would have VERY visible attachments along with it. I came home and then after several people pointed out the attachments I called Dr Tina and she was nice enough to have me come back and see the issue. She told me attachments are important due to x y z etc but my issue was why didn't anyone tell me about the attachments before the treatment. It's my day 2 on Invisalign and I'm pretty ok with the Invisalign experience but I wish the doctor had told me earlier about the attachments so I could be mentally ready. I didn't know how many trays in total I needed for the treatment so I had to ask. All I knew was i need to change trays every 2 weeks. I had to probe the assistant about how many hours to wear Invisalign and what precautions to take, I wasn't told ANYTHING. I still find myself searching for answers on google as I wasn't guided at all by the staff or the doctor. I'll keep you all posted if the experience improves in the next few appointments.

I had consultations with four Orthodontists, the treatment plans recommended by all four Orthodontists were fairly similar and the cost was also in the same ballpark. iSmile Orthodontics was not the least expensive but was towards the bottom of the spectrum, their plans also seemed more "all inclusive" if there were any additional services or visits needed. I ultimately decided to be treated by Dr. Helen at iSmile orthodontics, she and her staff took a lot of time to answer all of my questions and ensure that I had the information I needed to make an informed decision about my dental health. Daniel, their treatment coordinator, was so nice and helpful during the whole set up and process of our consultation. He really helped tie the iSmile experience together for me. During treatment it was easy to get an appointment and my appointments always ran on time. Dr. Helen and her staff were always very pleasant to work with, they all seemed like they were happy to be at work. I ended up needing dental work that could have impacted my orthodontic treatment, Dr. Helen worked with my regular dentist and the process was seamless when it could have been very disruptive.
