I just want to give a HUGE shout-out to Chris at the Best Buy in San Carlos. This was genuinely…read moresome of the best customer service I've experienced in a long time. We came in looking for a specific speaker, and Chris went to the back to try to find it. After about 10-15 minutes, I'll admit, I thought he might have forgotten about us . Chris came back with an update and explained that the speaker was available but might be in a harder-to-reach area in the back due to the construction going on. He gave us his number and told us to text him in 15-20 minutes while he went back to dig through inventory and find it. Sure enough, about 15 minutes later, Chris had found it. He noticed it was missing the power cord, so instead of simply handing it over as-is, he went and found a power cord to include with it. He then offered to keep the speaker up front with him until we came back for it. When we returned, everything was ready to go. Chris took his time showing us the speaker, explaining everything. The entire time and even after we left, I kept thinking, "They really don't make customer service like this anymore." And yes, I realize saying that makes me sound about 75 years old , but it's true. In this day and age, when someone goes this far above and beyond to help a customer, it deserves to be recognized. I really hope Chris's manager sees this review and gives him the recognition he deserves. Something tells me we weren't just lucky enough to catch Chris on a good day -- this genuinely seems like his standard for how he treats customers.

BEST BUY BROKE MY COMPUTER!!!…read more Brought my computer there to get more storage and boy was that a mistake. They suckered me into signing up for the membership at geek squad. The individual employees were nice, but when I brought my computer home, it didn't turn on so I brought it back and then they they adjusted something but when I brought it home again, it ran for a few minutes and then conked out again. This machine has been running beautifully since I got it. I brought it back and then they told me I needed a new motherboard and a new power supply; this machine has never had a problem the whole time I had it and all of a sudden it had a problem now after I brought it in to Best Buy. And they don't sell one of the parts that I need at Best Buy at all so I had to go to Central computers but they had some questions so when I tried calling Best Buy again and couldn't get ahold of anyone on the phone after trying to call for about a half hour or so I decided just to go back in the store and get my machine. When I talk to the manager he very nicely explained that sometimes things just break. He refused to reimburse me for any of the damaged items. So now I have to go to Central computers and try my luck there, plus I have to pay for the labor of installing all this new stuff that I didn't even need a week ago. Now I'm stuck with several hundred dollars worth of damages because I took my computer to Best Buy. BEWARE OF BEST BUY!!!!!

Two associates at the counter saw me approaching but continued their conversation with each other. When I reached the counter, I opened my Target app and displayed the Wallet barcode for my return. One associate looked at me and sarcastically asked, "What's this for?" I replied, "For my return." She completed the transaction, but immediately began talking to the other associate, saying, "People just put their phone up and don't know what they want--pickup, return, purchase?" I was standing right there and felt she was criticizing me in front of both employees. The comment was unnecessary, unprofessional, and made me feel embarrassed as a customer. I had done nothing more than present the barcode required for my return. What upset me most was the lack of courtesy and respect. Rather than feeling helped, I felt mocked. I believe customers deserve to be treated professionally, especially when they are standing at the counter within earshot of the conversation. I left the store feeling disappointed and would have appreciated a sincere apology for the associate's behavior.
