They refill your communal rice bowl if asked. Everything was delicious, and as 12-year residents of Shanghai we left full and pleased. The server made it seem the rice balls were small, but they came bigger than expected. Might be better to split 1 if it's only 2 people. First of all this place is centrally located near national theatre. Lots of foreigners eat here so it seems like a touristic place. And it feels like that as well. It's super tacky with its pools, huge statues, chandeliers with crystals and crystal curtains. Horrible decoration or at least does not fit my stylish needs. The plus side is that it's a big place so you can fit large groups of people at once. The service was quite fast. There is lots of people working and running around. Not the most relaxing atmosphere though. I had the crispy duck with my friends and this was quite good. The duck was very dry but still the taste was good. The house wine was quite bad. Wouldn't recommend it. Some of the people of my group had the all you can eat buffet and they were quite disappointed. This type of places do not reach my expectations of a place I would go back to. A little upscale - you eat dim sum here with good manners, not a place to be loudly gorging on food like your usual hole-in-the-wall dim sum. One drawback is the restaurant is small and the staff is occupied at full service. We had to cancel our second order since they politely noted it would have taken 30 minutes (you're telling us you don't just microwave frozen pre-made dumplings?), so we left at 60% full. Lesson for next time. Still, I care less about service and rate overwhelmingly on the quality of the food.
