    Sushi!

Oh Monsun, you're tiny in size but not tiny in flavor! The man and I stopped in here for a anniverysary dinner, which happened to also be St Pats day. The joint was hoppin, but we got lucky and snagged a table for two right next to the door. Monsun is literally a hole in the wall, it's very very very tiny inside. I believe they take reservations so I would suggest making some, especially on the weekend. We were totally famished so we ordered a few sushi rolls, and a couple of noodle dishes. My crisp duck noodle dish was amazing! Duck being so fatty it's very rich, so I couldn't make it all the way through it, but my husband took care of that. He got the peanut noodles which weren't overdressed, they were just right and very delicious. All three sushi rolls were tasty, one of them was my favorite above all the rest, but sadly I can't recall the name. Since portions are quite generous, in the future I think we would just order one noodle dish and one sushi roll, that really is plenty, even if you're quite hungry. I also saw Foodora there, so if you want delivery that is an option, door to door sushi? YES PLEASE!

The atmosphere is great, embellishments are adorable . The food is also decent, the noodle lacks a bit of tenderness, but the sushi is on fleck. 4 stars.

This place has a vegan menu - make sure to ask for it when you arrive. The food is fresh and delicious, and the staff is friendly. The place has a good atmosphere, but is a bit on the small size.

I ordered Ramen Vietnamese noodles and they tasted like a low quality fast food restaurant. Dissapointing experience.

Elias Mat & Sant is located in the sentrum, Oslo's city center, so is walking distance to many sites and attractions. I visited here after walking from the palace along Karl Johans Gate as the restaurant is located off this main drag. Make reservations here for the restaurant is small and intimate. It was time to try reindeer while in the Nordic region of the world, so here I did. I ordered the reindeer stew, which was delicious. The reindeer stew was similar to a beef stew, but the reindeer is leaner, so didn't taste as heavy, which is a good thing. Over some mashed potatoes with a gravy and herbs and a side of lingonberry, it completed the meal. It also came with a side of complimentary bread, which is not always the case at other restaurants. That was a nice bonus though because the bread helped soaked up the stew. Perfection!

We had a unique and inviting dining experience at the restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by their friendly staff and owner. Tried different wines and moved on to sake with a small bowl of fun tapioca crisp chips sprinkled with earthy spices. Our meal was creatively prepared and presented. We started off with a refreshing Watermelon Sashimi which looked and tasted much like the real thing bursting with a fusion of interesting flavors. Moving on to my favorite dish was the Buttered Oyster Mushrooms which consisted of heavenly umami savoriness combined with the velvety smooth Cassava Puree, and topped with crispy toppings for crunch and texture. Crispy Rice Steak with Eggplant was also beautifully plated and delicious. We ended our meal with a mildly tart and sweet tamarind & sweet potato sorbet. What a wonderful vegan culinary experience, unexpected from a bar. If you haven't been, go and try it! Highly recommend!!

When I asked for something they did not have, the bartender quickly suggested something in the same ballpark, and it hit the spot. Tasty wines, and sakes to die for. One of the bigger surprises was the "forest" that turned into a dance floor in the late hours. The sound system is tuned to perfection which makes it possible to communicate despite the music getting cranked. It's really worth multiple visits due to great service, tasty drinks and good vegan food! P.s the bathroom is worth the trip alone.

They don't open until 2pm on Sundays, I will try to get Yelp to update. We showed up at noon so had to figure out how to waste a couple hours, which was a bit difficult since most retail in this area is closed on Sunday. We were starving once we came back at 2pm, and each ordered a dog. We can't read Norwegian that well so kind of flew by the seat of our pants, but it turned out all good. The beer selection here is good, and not horribly overpriced. I really like the vibe of the place, it's spacious, had covered outdoor seating, and comfy to hang out and stay a while. We both really enjoyed the dogs, I like mine best but my husbands was really good too. He got the Puerco, and I don't remember the name of mine. We also got the polse chip things which were interesting... they were thinly sliced sausage cooked until crispy and you dip them in bbq sauce. Definitely one of my more favorite stops in the Sentrum and I know we will be back!

The menu can be a little difficult to navigate on your own, but the employees are able to help if you need it. Google Translate gets the job done too. Most surprising was the vegan dog; it didn't have the snap of the other sausages but otherwise it was indistinguishable from them. We had 4 of them (Puerco, MIM, Completo, and Bunga Bunga) and the Puerco (chili dog with chips, cheese, and their chili mayo) was the clear favorite. They also have a dozen beers on tap here, originating from the US to Japan. Total cost for 4 dogs + 2 beers was 532 NOK (about $66 US) which is an average price.

She couldn't not have been more friendly or helpful and had a great sense of humor. Clearly, this is someone who loves her job and it made the meal extra special. I had the linguine with creamy shellfish sauce, scampi, lemon, squash and chili. Scampi is not shrimp, but langoustine, which is an orange-colored crustacean native to the northeastern Atlantic and Mediterranean. It is known for its small, slender claws, and is more like a mini-lobster than shrimp. The sauce was flavorful and overall was an excellent dish. My wife had the Pasta pollo ubriaco, which is rigatoni in a rich, creamy tomato sauce with chili, chicken fillet and bacon. Also excellent.
