    Dinner. Way cool place.

Had dinner there twice this week. Excellent both times. Surprised we were able to get reservations short notice. All of their "pot" dishes are really good and can be very spicy. But, my new favorite was their price fixed Chef Menu which we also did the wine pairing with each course which made it a bit expensive, but it was absolutely fantastic.

This was recommended to us as the best Chinese restaurant in Oslo, which to be fair one can only expect so much since most Chinese food in the US is pretty iffy at best as well with far more Chinese people. The people who run the restaurant are all Chinese. The food tends to focus on Cantonese (Dim Sum) and Szechuan, but isn't exactly authentic. The venue is very sleek and intimate and feels more like a western restaurant/bar and definitely caters to a Millennial "hip" crowd. The stir fried vegetables were mostly squash and cellophane noodles and not very good. The half crispy duck came with fresh thin pancakes and all the expected fillings but the duck was quite dry and they shredded it instead of slicing. The 4 piece dim sum basket had 3 fried items and a shumai, which was by far the closest to the real thing. ~100 for dinner for two with a beer. If you are desperate for something resembling Chinese late night, and care more about atmosphere that food, come here.

Major disappointment. We saw the Michelin star on the door and that the place was packed so we expected it should be phenomenal food. Well off the bat, the service wasn't good. We were told we had an hour and a half to eat. After we sat down and got our drinks, we wanted three items off the dim sum section as there were only two of us and we don't eat much. Unfortunately, the restaurant has a weird policy, they refused to serve us unless we got four items from the dim sum section or two items and an entree. We compromised on two dim sum and an entree. The kindest way to describe the food is that it's better than most Chinese takeout "restaurants" in NYC. No idea why so many people go here.

Unbelievably unpleasant. I should have just left. I wondered how they could have a Michelin Star, and turns out they don't really! They have a plate, not a star, and that explains quite a bit. We got there and ordered drinks and some dumplings to start. But the waiter immediately and rudely tells us we MUST order an entree and things from the dim sum menu don't count! How is that possible?! It's a dim sum restaurant. What he really should have said were that the portions were small and we'd likely would want more food. But instead he made it sound like we either had to order more, or chug our drinks and go. I should have left right then, but I figured given the reviews, it had to be good. But no! Everything was mediocre at best. The restaurant was also loud and the table next to us nearly knocked over our stuff as they got up. As did the waiter, who at one point had the back flap of his jacket in our sauce. But at least he made us laugh: at the end he asked for a tip.

Excellent gourmet Chinese in the heart of Oslo. Starters include a very flavorful and appropriately spiced hot and sour soup and wagyu dumplings. They have four different kinds of duck, a breaded lamb with sauce, and an array of chicken and beef dishes befitting of any upscale Chinese menu. The fried rice also stood out for being low in grease and light. I'll definitely be returning to try what I couldn't on my first visit. Areas for improvement: -3 dumplings is an awkward number to share in an appetizer, although I've been advised by a local it's not uncommon to order appetizers individually -they forgot about our mains after bringing our starters

The food is good, but far from authentic Sichuan cuisine. It is a place most Westerners would like, but not for those who are in the know.

The appetizers were delicious as the dumplings were so juicy and tasty. I had gotten a Chinese meal (they offer various asian cuisines) that was strips of fried beef with onions, peppers, and carrots. It was really tasty, and had a unique flavor I had never had before. I wish there was a bit more sauce in this meal, and that the beer selection could have been a tiny bit better. Otherwise I had a great time!

We arrived at 5:30pm, without a reservation, and they were able to accommodate us, though mentioned they'd prefer we finish up within 90 minutes. The tables around us definitely turned at least once during our time there, so they're quite proficient with their service, handily ferrying people through their dinner and our the door, expeditiously. As for dinner, we started out with the prawn chips, which were as good as they ever are (and later, we learned are all pre-fried and stored in a large bin and simply portioned out with each individual order). My friend and I both then had our own bowl of hot and sour soup (one bowl could be shared by two people, if neither of you are particularly hungry). If you love spice, you'll love this soup. Good flavors, most definitely spicy (said as someone who loves spicy food). We then both had stir fried veggies (carrots, mushrooms, snapped peas, and baby corn) with chicken and prawns, in a brown sauce, which we both liked OK (liked, not loved). Overall, we thought it was all OK, and service itself was attentive and good, but we weren't wowed as much as we hoped we'd be. We'd likely explore another option rather than coming back, though truth be told, this place isn't necessarily bad. Just...OK.

It was a tough decision! There were too many interesting options. The Red Sheng turned out to be a solid choice. My friend ordered the Lychee-Chee but they brought her the Chili-ling. We didn't realize it until the end of the meal. We mentioned it and they brought her the right drink at the end. She knew something was wrong when the drink was spicy and that's not something she would have ordered. For the food, the dumplings came out first. There were two of each type: green, red, orange and black. They explained each one and we had to make choices among us about who wanted to eat what. We also got the scallops, which I think are hard to mess up. They were delicious. The Hakka Noodles were a highlight. The fried rice was underwhelming. The night we were there, they had a live DJ right next to our table which we found pleasant. The music wasn't too loud and set the mood. For a large group, the wait staff was very patient and helpful.
