I drove past this place each day on the way to work and I've been meaning to stop in for the longest time. Today was that day! I went with the jerk chicken and steamed vegetables. The chicken was very tender, and almost fell off the bone. The jerk chicken definitely has a sneaky spice to it that amplifies throughout the meal in the best way. Establishment itself has a counter you order at and a 4 to 5 tables that one could sit at. The owner of the Salish matter is super friendly. The food was prepared very quickly and prices are very reasonable. I was impressed with the portions of each serving, one order of jerk chicken could definitely feed two adults. Overall I was very impressed with Jamaican Thymes and they will become a staple of the take-out rotation. Despite is definitely one of Worcester's gems. I recommend you check it out sometime.

Oxtail my favorite from this place, not spicy but absolutely delicious!

The food here is absolutely delicious and freshly made daily! I love ordering the oxtail rice combo here. It's not spicy so it's enjoyable for me. If you want a spicy kick, go for the Jerk chicken, my god it was spicy for me but still delicious! The beef patty is spicy but sooo delicious, flaky, meaty and not greasy. I've tried a few places around the area and this is the one I go back consistently for food quality, portion, price, service and hygiene. You can tell owner puts a lot of love in the food. There are also some Jamaican soda to choose from, which I haven't seen anywhere else. I look forward to trying more menu items.

No frills good place to eat. There are about four small tables inside. I actually didn't see a menu because I was craving jerk chicken. The owner is very sweet and even remembered our last order! We arrived Thursday by 6pm and only curry goat, oxtail, and curried chicken were available since everything else sold out and it was pretty quiet. We came back on Friday for lunch and got to try the jerk chicken! Lunch was busier and they sold out of beef Pattie's. The jerk is a wetter jerk than I'm used to and not as brown as the previous photos but still delicious! Juicy and great spice. The orders come in small, medium, or large size and it really just pertains the amount of meat in the dish. A small has the least amount of meat but a very generous amount of rice and peas and side of cabbage. May be good for someone on a budget ($10.95!). The prices were very fair in my opinion. There's also curried chicken patties and beef patties, which were banging! I especially liked the beef patties- nice heat and scotch bonnet flavor!

I decided to call in an order of jerk chicken. I noticed that the number listed on Yelp is not the right number. That number takes you to their voicemail every time. I searched the restaurant on Google and received the correct number: +1 (508) 373-2944. This number is also posted on the white board inside but the old number is on the building sign. Anywho, once I called the correct number, I was greeted and I placed my order. The guy who answered the phone also provided my food and rung up my purchase. He was professional and informative. He explained that the food is generally prepared once the person comes in, I guess it cooks pretty quickly. I only waited about one to two minutes and calling my order in maybe five minutes before. He said he was cooking extra jerk chicken so lucky me. A few people came in after me, the seemed to be locals. The guy/owner made it a point to greet everyone who came in and he told them what was available and what was still cooking and about how long the order would take. +2 The spicy beef patty was my spicy but it was good. The large jerk chicken cabbage and rice and peas order was good not great. The jerk chicken was really salty. I've eaten Jamaica foods all of my life. I haven't had jerk chicken that salty before. Also the chicken was marinated a little too long. Some pieces of chicken were cured sort of like when you season pork ribs with salt for too long and how it makes the meat taste like ham. The rice and peas was really good and the cabbage was cool. I'm hoping that this was just a bad batch of jerk. I'm willing to try this place again. I'd try another item fro the menu.

Stew chicken plantains rice and oxtail.

The FOOD is amazing here my favorite happens to be the oxtail and soup that he makes with the ginger if you are sick clears you up in a minute the environment is so comforting they kinda make you feel as if your at home and I love when I walk in and the music is on. Yes highly recommended..

I often gauge the attention to detail with an establishment by the cleanliness of the restroom. Theirs was absolutely spotless and even smelled fragrant! That's a great indicator. Furthermore, anytime I get Jamaican cuisine it's like a good Italian restaurant with a litmus test. For Italian, it's calamari; for Jamaican it's the jerk chicken. Mama Mia did they hit a homerun. However, I also got an order of the curry chicken for a rounding of the flavor bases. PRO TIP-get the traditional rice and peas, ask for the ox tail sauce over the top. NEXT LEVEL! Both chicken dishes were slow cooked and maxed out with flavor. The heat level of the curry was actually a little more than the jerk. Regardless, they both hit the mark. Highest recommendation! Bon appetite! PS-super friendly service and staff.

Gorgeous presentation with an edible flower and gold dust. We also had a side order of maduros for an app. Delicious! The maduros were legit my favorite thing here, although everything was great. For a main course I had shrimp in garlic sauce with mamposteo. Served on a huge plate, there was a giant portion of rice and a small side salad as well as many good sized shrimp. Super delicious and the food was piping hot. Service was great and I loved the music here, which was a mix of reggaeton, Bad Bunny and Karol G but played at a low, chill volume so it didn't distract from conversation. The interior is sort of casual but with some nice touches like a wall of greenery with a PR flag. Our server was super friendly and this is a family business. We parked in the private lot in the back, which is reserved for tenants of the building. A guy who appeared to be associated with the barber shop in the same building told us it was safe to leave our car there to visit the restaurant. I'd recommend parking near the barbershop since they seemed to keep their door open and would see anyone messing with your car. There were a number of homeless people here begging but they did not bother us. Only reasons for not giving five stars has nothing to do with the food, atmosphere or service. I found the women's bathroom in need of a cleaning and they also have a small convenience fee that was not mentioned anywhere but was added to our bill. Additionally, be careful to review your check because they automatically add a 20 percent gratuity.

There is a small stocked bar (another time... when NOT working!) Started with the fresh squeezed juice. DELICIOUS!... then ordered the fried cheese appetizer. It came out plated beautiful. Actually, everything was plated for a beautiful dining experience, and this was LUNCH! I bit into the cheese with the homemade guava sauce and kept repeating OMG...OMG...OMG! I couldn't believe how tasty. Then, for my meal, i ordered pork chops, arrow con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), and salad. Just look at the pictures! There's edible GOLD on the pork chops and the tomato on the salad. More OMG's as I cut into and ate the pork chops. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and yet with edges of crispness. There was too much to eat at one time, and my greediness got to me. I ordered the appetizer for 1-3 people to go. Pork, chicken, mufungo, tostones, empanadas, salad, and seafood with their accompanied sauces. I'm at home now... I just reheated and fed 3 people off of it with plenty leftover for snacking later. Everything was soooooo wonderful. I can't wait to go again... next Thursday if I can!!!
