After washing my hair two weeks later I smelled a chemically smell that even my braider noticed hours after washing while doing my hair. It seems like it may be a texturizer based on my curls laying "flatter" but it's very disgusting to believe that someone would put something in your hair that's not asked for. I also have obvious heat damage in the back as well. Really unfortunate! Don't recommend at all.

Firstly, I made an appointment at a certain time, and I received service right after I came in. This may not seem like a big deal but for black salons, that's a novelty. My stylist was Jessica and she guided me through everything she did with my hair, another great thing. She was very gentle when washing my hair and I the deep condition w/ hot oil treatment was very effective considering how dry my hair has been. I trust very few people w/ my natural hair, but she handled it with care and most importantly, respect. I came in with a picture of a braided style I wanted and Jessica suggested that she jazz it up a little. She started doing her thing but she always gave me the option of taking out the braids if I didn't care for it. She braided carefully and tightly, but did not hurt me at all. By the end, my hair was a braided perfection! I felt like heaven. This was a wonderful experience. Pleasant, helpful stylist who also offered good conversation. The salon was clean and beautifully decorated. All of the people, including the barbers were kind and professional. I thought I was going to break the bank for 3 and 1/2 hours of haircare but she only charged me $75! Needless to say, I left her a decent tip and will definitely be going back.

Sheila does all the salon work and she is the one who did my hair. Before she started twisting my locs, I asked her what type of products she used. She explained she bought it at a hair show and it's an all natural product. I specifically asked if it had Beeswax and she explained that it was all natural. Sheila proceeded to tell one of the Barbers to get a bottle to show me (the bottle she was using label was worn off). She started to twist my hair then half way through the bottle was brought to my attention. CLEAR AS DAY, it says "Shea Butter and Beeswax". I told her this has Beeswax and she said no it doesn't then I showed her the bold letters on the bottle that says Beeswax. She had an attitude then said OK well I will just use the cheap beauty supply stuff on your hair.....what? OK whatever, now I'm annoyed. After twisting, in a sarcastic demeaning voice she asked "is this okay to spray in your hair?". Lastly, it was time to pay.....I asked if they take cards and she said no. I said no problem I'm going to walk next door to the atm. She said OK you have to leave your cell phone, wallet or something. I got really offended she asked me to leave a personal item just to go next door for a measley $65 hair bill. I then left my phone charger (because that is something comparable to a hair bill right) went to the atm and gave her the money. I love supporting black owned business but situations like this makes people not want to patronize. I will never go back to this salon ever again. A hairdresser that's condescending and not knowledgeable about her products is a recipe for disaster.
