I initially went to the salon in the spring of 2019 in preparation for my engagement shoot. I'm natural and wanted my hair pressed with clip-ins for my photos. I'll admit the consultation took a while but that is because Noël really wants to understand your hair! She was honest, took in my considerations (I really needed it cut, but didn't want to right before the photos!) and helped me get some high-quality extensions for my shoot. Following that, I became a regular as my goal was to really grow it as much as possible for my upcoming wedding. This involved a few cuts, several Emergency repair treatments, and ultimately she recommended a keratin treatment to help with my curl manageability and improve growth (I have more kinky, coarse hair). After a year, my hair grew to its longest point and actually past the length of the clip-ins I ordered a year prior. The few times I have gotten it straightened my curls have always come back! I went rogue one time when I couldn't get in and got it straightened at another salon and unfortunately experienced some heat damage - never again, but we are nursing them back :) During COVID she has continued to do virtual appointments when I can't come in, consulted me on various treatments and my wash routine, and shipped me products as I have since moved out of state. My hair continues to experience tremendous growth with the products I order from the salon and I am looking forward to being a regular again once it is safe to travel more freely! While the services are on the pricier side, I am willing to make the investment. I can honestly say, you get what you pay for at NNY. (also looking forward to when they can serve wine and snacks again at the salon:)

12/13/19 : Honest Review…read more I live in the neighborhood and surprisingly this is my first time getting a chance to check out Noel's hair salon. Right off the bat every employee was super nice, friendly, kind, and sweet. My questions were answered quickly, yet detailed and professional, each receptionist was very kind. I was given tea, and treated wonderfully while getting my hair done and even after. I will say though, they are on a bit of the pricey side. I usually pay $45.00 for a regular wash and press, but I payed nearly $70 at Noel's. It's okay though, because it was all worth it! My hairstylest Harley was super sweet, she made sure I left looking fabulous, and she really worked her magic! I got to meet the owner as well who makes you feel right at home. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone in the neighborhood, or even if you just want to stop by and check it out!

They did my gorgeous honey highlights and even dyed my full honey. Now I will admit my hair broke after all this processing but that was my fault lol These girls offer awesome deep treatments and do a great job styling as well. Their cuts are amazing and they aren't scissor happy like most Dominican salons. Since going natural, I've only been here once to straighten my hair. Needless to say everyone thought I had a perm! It was bone straight and looked healthy and bouncy. It was so wonderful. I'm laying off the heat so I won't be going too often but my wash and straighten with a deep condition and a cut was very reasonably priced. They offer different deep conditions, steam, hot oil treatments! A whole bunch of stuff. They speak their spanish all in the spot of course but that's expected. They always greet me "HIIII Briana!" lol I don't know why they won't learn my name but it's all good. They're friendly and always ask how my mom and sister are doing. They know how to make their customers feel right at home. My fave salon and I've been to a bunch of them. Def the best in the area.

A wash and blow is $25, wash and set $20, and a deep conditioner depending on which one you choose can run you $5-$10. The milk shake deep conditioner is $10 and worth every penny. Although, I didn't get the same results this trip as I did the first time I had it. You may experience language barriers at most Dominican salons out there , but that's not the case here, that's never been a problem. They do like ALL Dominican salons and speak in their language back and forth between stylists, having you believe that you're the topic of conversation, but even that wouldn't stop me from coming here. They know how to do hair well and that's what I'm paying for!

When I got there, the place was completely empty except for two guys working. In fact, the 2 hours I was there no one came in nor did the phone ring. Granted it was a Sunday morning, but still. I was a little scared. My appointment was with Diego. I had never done the keratin treatment before, but I had my hair japanese straightened once before. About the keratin treatment: WAY simpler and WAY better than I thought it would be. I highly recommend anyone thinking of doing it to do it. I hated my hair after I had it japanese straightened (see my review on Hair Village, gag), but I LOVE my hair with the keratin. Definitely do it. About Diego: He made me nervous because he seemed nervous. The way he touched my hair made me feel like he'd never done it before, and he kept walking away and asking who I assume is Demetris questions. However, he did a great job, and was super nice. I underestimated his talent. He also does a mean blow out. I was impressed. After my appointment I couldn't wash my hair for 3 days. Today I woke up and was finally able to wash my hair, and low and behold the treatment did exactly as it promises. My poofy frizzy hair is soft and beautiful despite the nasty NYC humidity. Long story short: This place is brand new, and does really good work. The salon was cute and clean. I can't speak for any of their other services, but I'm in love with the work they've done on my hair. I absolutely recommend doing the Keratin treatment.

He was trying to find "the perfect salon" to suit his "style and professionalism." He talked to me all about how important customer service is to him and his ideals about hair color. I didn't know anyone could care so much about hair color, but this is clearly his passion. I take my hair color very seriously and can get unrealistically distressed when something goes wrong. I'm a big believer in natural looking hair with a hint of pop to make it stand out. He totally gets that. It is very unaccepting to make a client feel mistreated, especially when they are paying above price for treatment. The elder lady is very sweet.
