The DirecTV upstairs is a joke. Please replace it with something else! Good overall gym.read more

Overall, the gym seems pretty decent. I haven't used the pool, sauna, or hot tub yet, so I can't…read morereally review those. The equipment is in overall good shape, although there do seem to be some cardio machines that lack some of their original functionality (heartbeat sensors that don't work). The facility is pretty clean, and well organized, and I haven't seen any behavior by patrons or employees that would be off putting to anyone of any fitness level (and I should know, my strength is pretty poor right now). I can say that I definitely do not recommend that anyone use their personal training options as of now. I'm about six weeks into a six month contract (and very glad that I didn't sign up for one longer or with more/longer sessions)... and now have a third (fourth in one way) personal trainer... the first flaked and never showed for the first appointment (after the 'free personal training session' which was much more a hard sell session)... all communications except for the notice that a different trainer was assigned to me on that first paid session has been by text message, that, and only that communication was by email (which I didn't check until hours later)... no one at the gym knew about the change, either and, evidently, the other trainer was either not there or not that interested (I was at the cubicles where the pt's are based ten minutes early and stayed for at least five minutes after the scheduled time before going to do a workout on my own). The second (third?) trainer was great for a few weeks, but her schedule has now changed, so I've been shunted to a third (fourth?) trainer that I've met (I never met the second that was the rescheduled no show)... each of the three I've met has had a different focus and style, so six weeks into this, I still don't really have a set workout schedule because I haven't been able to settle into any kind of rhythm and routine. Presuming that I don't just give this up as wisdom earned, I expect no less than a few more weeks before anything changes... and who knows what else might happen between now and then. My initial goal was simply to improve my strength and possibly maximize the efficiency of my workouts as I'm getting older and coming off of an injury... six weeks has now been at least partially wasted while costing me a not insignificant amount of money and time. I would have been better off simply doing what I've done previously and working off of knowledge that's 20 years old but developing my own routine and simply doing my best... I would be farther along in improving my conditioning. If you're fine working out alone and don't need a (or want) a personal trainer, I would recommend that you consider this gym... otherwise, I'd recommend that you find somewhere else.

This grand location has plenty of parking, many different activities for families and a few bathrooms to use if you need to go. They keep up with this park. It is always in great condition when I go. I love that they maintain the fields and take care of them. I can see why there's so many games and tournaments held here. One bonus for me is the snack bar. A park and sports complex that has a good snack bar in addition to the well maintained equipment and park is a win win in my book. The program felt very unorganized, and the coaches (mostly teenagers) did very little to engage or motivate the kids. On three separate occasions, we showed up for soccer only to find out upon arrival that there was no class because the space had been rented out for a private event or the practice had been moved to another location. There was absolutely no communication about these changes. For the price they charge, we expected a much more professional and reliable program. Overall, it was frustrating, overpriced, and not something we would recommend.

It gives both the kids and the adults to come together for the adults to hang out and the kids to get their energy out. When the kids had a later morning class it was nice because the lunch items would be offered so we would have lunch right after soccer. However the past few seasons it's been earlier and earlier. We still make it a habit to hang out afterwards for all parties. They serve alcohol at all times while they are open where my husband and our friend bought a glass of beer to drink during one of the classes for those rough mornings! The sportsdome is a nice alternative for sports from being outside offering a big field, practice field (both turf), basketball courts which can also serve as volleyball courts or even for use for soccer sprouts a time or 2. Sometimes the facility can be very busy as there can be different sports simultaneously happening at the same time in all areas, so parking may be limited, but the parking lot is large you should not have much trouble finding parking. Ladies Bathrooms are also clean. They offer ladies and men as well as family bathrooms located across from the basketball courts. I always see them being clean. All in all, the facility is pretty tidy and offer many trash cans so you can throw away your trash without having to walk far away.

Coolest play structure in Sparks? This just may be it!…read more I've had my eye on this park for a few months now and despite numerous efforts, I couldn't get there with my kiddo, until this weekend! The stars aligned and this was our chance, so play we did! The playground has the coolest climbing stuff I've seen including wacky ladders, rock wall type holds, and the coup de gras, the giant rope diamond in the center! There are also great slides and fun stuff to spin around in, plus a lot more. The grounds are kept clean. The parking is so easy. It's virtually brand new. And there are event tennis courts, a gazebo and a walking trail too. This is a great spot! Can't wait to come back!

You can climb through the whole playground without ever touching the ground. The "spider web" in the middle of the playground is big. The kids loved climbing on it. A soft padding is underneath the playground. There are no swings at this park. There is a full court basketball court at this park. There is a grassy area and a paved walkway to enjoy. There is a covered eating area with picnic tables underneath. There are tennis courts at this park. There are bathrooms at this park. The park has its own parking lot. The park is located next to one of the many Sparks Fire Stations. So if you or your child gets injured, the response time should be very fast. Side note: This park is fantastic. The issue I have with this park is the location. The park is located next to McCarran Blvd. There is a right turn which passes by the park. Cars tend to be driving pretty fast in this area. All it takes is one car to lose control and plow through the chain link fence. Hopefully that never happens but you never know. At least the fire fighters are close by, just in case. But overall the park was clean and well maintained. Have fun out there. - Dadzone

Since we were out…read moremid-day we stopped for a quick break hoping to find a dog-friendly water source but no such luck. It seemed that the water source was a single drinking fountain at the restroom at the furthest point of the park. Given that there are tennis and basketball courts in addition to a playground, I'd have thought more than one would be available, especially one to fill bottles and one for dogs. The available fountain was dirty and had low water pressure and the bathroom was closed. I also didn't see a single trash can which may be a problem for some who aren't/weren't expecting to haul trash out with them. There is a large area behind the restroom that is currently wasted space- an additional pavilion (with grills) and grass would be great. Overall, clean park that's great for a quick outing with young kids or those looking to play tennis or basketball, but I likely won't be back as it's lacking the amenities I'd need while out.
