Very high prices even for quite inexpensive menu choices. In this case..plain waffles and coffee. all inclusive 20 dollars. I went there to meet with a friend,and next time we will go to fast food. Came here to try something new. We're in the area frequently and didn't know this restaurant was hiding around the corner. There's plenty of parking, and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We were greeted and seated immediately when we walked in. The server came by with water and took our drink order. After we ordered food, the food came out in less than 15 minutes. I was surprised at how fast food service was. I ordered the berry french toast (was a special) and a side order of small waffles. We met a friend here for breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. The staff sat her almost right away and we joined her right away. Our waitress was very attentive and patience with us as we chatted before we ordered. My friend ordered the Breakfast Combo and enjoyed the entire dish. I ordered the Mediterranean omelet with french toast as a side. It was phenomenal and had a hearty amount of filling inside. My daughter got the dollar cakes and almost finished the entire plate. I've recently moved to the area and decided to try Jam 'N Jelly one morning for breakfast - sadly I left disappointed. We were given a table right away which is always a plus but when we were seated we had 4 or 5 different staff asked us what we'd like to drink and it felt very chaotic having one person after the other asking for our drink order - only one of them turned out to be our server and she was awesome. My friends and I were in this restaurant when a arrogant and rude man with friends entered. You could plainly see that one of them was trying to show his unwarranted authority by treating the owner with a very condescending tone. My friend and I have gone to this restaurant for many years because the food and service are excellent. The owner is also a class act always going the extra mile for those that "woke up on the wrong side of the bed". In this case, the only other table wasn't ready so the owner provided the last open table (this should tell you how great this place is). Ted, the owner has never denied our request for another table and he didn't that day. Rather than waiting and telling the owner they would wait for another table, this guy sat down, demanded another piece of ham, paid his bill and left, only to write a story with little facts. "My ham was warm, but not warm enough". Regardless, the owner Ted brought him a warmer piece of ham. Good God. What a 1st world problem. This guy clearly goes to bed angry and wakes up angry. Mediocre food you will find at any Greek coffee shop. American omelette is aka a Denver omelette is the same you get anywhere. Hash browns were not fresh because they were not crispy anywhere including the brown side. Coffee is the watery medium roast coffee I really despise. Pancakes are the same mix 95% of all restaurants use. The only very good part of this meal was the water with Lemon and a very tasty orange juice. BTW the prices are a little high too. read more

Beware of the owner, Teddie. "I'm sorry you feel that way," is the classic response to accept no responsibility for your actions. Our server was lovely. The ham was not hot, just warm and definitely not up to temp. The server fixed it with no fuss. Upon walking to the front to render payment, the owner apologized for the ham, to which I shrugged and asked "how about the table?" We were three, with a table set with 3 chairs squeezed at an angle flush to the false wall that leads to the upper section. My chair was left with little room to scoot back without being in the stairs to go up to the aforementioned upper section. There was an open table against the wall that had been cleaned just before he, teddy the owner walked up back and sat us in the uncomfortable seat. His assertion was that the table wasn't cleaned when he sat us and that is just not true. The table in front of it was missing when we walked back because it was being used by a nice large family who sat next to us. All that aside, as a proprietor, to take the time to couch a dismissive insult in an apology is arrogant and lazy. Nevertheless, as the owner, you have that right. The right he doesn't have is to behave in an uncouth manner to others when there was no disrespect towards him. Evidently, it speaks to his character, that like the ham steak, was lukewarm. If I am to hazard a guess, he is unaccustomed to being challenged in his domain, being called on a technicality in front of his subordinates, which is unbecoming of an individual of his status and wealth. It could be that I was dressed down to his standard, wearing gym shorts and a hoodie in December weather, taking me for riffraff-- another guess. The waitress still got 20% because she was good. In general, this place is very personable and hospitable . On my last visit in March with a girlfriend, as soon as we walked in we were quickly greeted by the owner, Teddy. He was very friendly and warm. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to dine in so we had some food made to go. I ordered the Gyro Meat platter and my friend had a some sort of crepes with chocolate sauce and fruits. She says that they have very good Eggs Benedict here but I haven't tried it. I thought my gyros tasted OK but it wasn't the best I've had. The meat was drier than I would have liked and the portion didn't seem that large for an approximate $10 lunch. She ordered some kind of crepes with chocolate syrup with fruits and whipped cream. That dish was a large size and by the end she just thought it was all too sweet together. I Overall, I think that this place is quite nice and is a good spot for brunch with friends to catch up. It's a good concept but I wouldn't be able to afford breakfast here every day. We got in just in time. As soon as we sat down the crowds poured in. It's an average cafe but the staff is really nice. The waitress and hostess kept checking on us, but not so much that it was intrusive or annoying. My mom's America Skillet was really good, and so was the Red Velvet French Toast. Remember that popular kid in school, that everyone liked, but you were left thinking "why?! I don't get it! They're really not that great!" Well, that's my exact relationship with Jam n Jelly. Here's my case: 1. They're over priced for mediocre food. 2. Their coffee sucks (are you really even a breakfast joint if you don't have amazingly delicious coffee?!) 3. The parking near the restaurant is limited and therefore annoying 3. The last time I went my omelet was brown... like it was cooked in a used pan or with burnt butter.... common!
