Warm, welcoming, casual but classy and comfortable. Our host was genuinely curious what our thoughts were on our pours and how we each tasted the wines. It was low pressure and fun. I personally am immediately enveloped when solid song choices are in a space with me, and this place pairs wine tasting with music. Behind the center counter are shelves of LP's. Really fun place to imbibe some vino. Candidly, I'm not the biggest fan of their wines (not a knock on them at all, just not for my palate), but their space is one of the most eclectic in the entire city. Heavy focus on music (they even have a working recording studio), album lined walls add to aesthetic and the background soundtrack is classic rock personified. The atmosphere at JaM was quirky and fun. My mom and I enjoyed our time doing the Napa Exclusive Tasting. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The one thing that stopped me from giving them 5 stars was that several of their staff members were only half wearing their masks. When they came to our table, they spoke to us with it mostly off. This bothered the people I was with so I couldn't give this place 5 stars. I'm sure in other situations it would be! read more

Some girlfriends and I roamed in here after doing a tasting at Domaine Carneros. It's a cozy, intimate little space with a laid back but high end feel. We went in around 4:30/5:00 on a Friday so it was pretty quiet but still had a nice little crowd occupying a majority of the tables. The bartender/server was very attentive and personable and had great recommendations. We wound up getting a bottle of the Candy Rosè. We loved that you could get a limited selection menu from Tarla next door. It was SO yummy. We made an outdoor reservation, showed up on time, & then was told we had to sit at the tiniest bar. When we spoke up about having an outdoor reservation, we were told they were behind on reservations and couldn't accommodate us. They told us we could sit at a booth but that we would "only have 40 minutes until the next reservation arrive". DO BETTER!! Why have a reservation system where it allows you to pick where you want to sit if you can't honor it? Visiting from the east coast and this tasting room has been the least hospitable in Napa. read more

When in Napa, you must stop here! A group of us came here to pick up our order of John Anthony Wine. So why not kill two birds with one stone, and stay for a few drinks and invite friends! JaM Cellars is a more affordable version of the John Anthony vines. Equally delicious though. I found their tasting room to be very inviting and comfortable. I really liked the rock and roll theme. I'm a hard rocker to be clear. On this visit we brought some of our industry friends and they recommended some wines and I enjoyed them quite well. The JaM Cellars Chardonnay can be found in many stores including CVS and I would like to thank them for not being too exclusive to make this fine wine readily available. read more

We stopped in here randomly while walking around downtown on a Saturday around 8p. I'm a music lover, so the decor instantly drew me in. I was loving the vibe with an intimate setting to get up close and personal with the band. We were greeted promptly and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Purchased a groupon for a tasting and take home bottle for this location. I was going to be in Napa for a few days with a friend and decided that we would try this place out. Found the location nice, due to being right downtown. When we arrived and I advised that we had a groupon, he poured 3 wines and that was it. Didn't really have much to say about the wines, just their names. We also purchased a bottle of the Rose', but did not find it very appealing. I personally was not really impressed with the wines (I'm kind of spoiled, I guess by cheap Lodi wines), but did find the Butter Chardonnay nice. We stayed around for the music on Friday night which was great, however the place filled up quickly and became crowded within a short time. We did enjoy our night out, and the service was great prior to it becoming crowded. I would recommend this for the young crowd as there was quite a following of the musician that was playing. For the customer service. But not really for the wine. read more

A friend and I realized we had the same off days from work, so we literally decided to make the trip out here 2 days in advance. Beautiful wine cellar! Awesome music, the ambiance is very cool and our hostess Sam Smith was fantastic. Very friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. She even gave us a great recommendation for lunch! The sugar sweet white wine is fantastic, the Rosé is delicious and the butter Chardonnay is very good! We will definitely be back with a larger group in the future. Great Goupon the lady who helped us with the wine flight was amazing. I'm sorry I forgot her name but she was wonderful hostess. I love how we can taste the different wine flights and get one free botle of wine to take home for about $40 groupon for two people what a great deal. The place is decorated like a live studio band place. I believe at night they have live music being played by local bands. I wish they offer crackers or something with the wine flight it's hard to drink and not have anything to absorb the alcohol. I know they have a menu so you can order food from a different place but we had already had lunch so we weren't opting for that. I would try to do this wine flight with friends if I ever get the chance. My lesson learned is don't go to Napa CA just for a few hours go there and spend the night because when you drink you need to spend time working off the alcohol. read more

Really liked the bar. Definitely fits the theme really well. The prices of their in-house items are pretty great, but I must admit, I would have paid a bit more if the restaurant had a bit more privacy. My friends and I came on a rare music night on a Saturday. I liked the music but when we left, it was starting to get loud (the noise density was not the best, ironically). But the cellar provides a very relaxed atmosphere. The oriental rugs, the artist walls, the wine bookshelves-- definitely fits that music aesthetic. (Could use some more seating though!) read more

A quaint and unique hangout in downtown Napa. Everyone knows the Butter Chardonnay brand, but did you know there's another? The reserve has only grapes grown in Napa, the common one you see all over the grocery stores has a more broad range of grapes from all over California. If you find yourself in downtown Napa, this is a must stop! Try the reserve and you won't be disappointed! They even have live music on some nights, but make sure to be early so you can snag a spot. read more

We stopped by JaM Cellars in downtown Napa because we were looking to taste some wine and also wanted a bite to eat. The place has a fun and funky feel to it with rock & roll decor that definitely appeals to a younger crowd. The food comes from a restaurant next door and offers great appetizers to share. The wines are good and very affordable! Their JaM Cabernet and Butter Chardonnay are my favorites. You can find Butter Chardonnay elsewhere, but it doesn't have the "Napa" name on it and isn't as selective with it's grapes. At the tasting room you can get Napa Butter Chardonnay and it is amazing and only about $20 a bottle. I wish JaM would open a tasting room in my city! read more

Not at all worth it. We had a decent time at JaM Cellars, despite rude staff. At the end, the way everything was handled with our reservation was extremely unprofessional and sneaky. We will not be coming back after our experience. The wine is sub par and not worth the trouble we went through. We booked under the wine tasting experience that was $30 and booked 2 separate reservations as groups of 6. Upon walking in, since they noticed our group was together we were given the VIP tasting. However, we were never told there would be a price difference and still had to sit as 2 separate groups. When we went to pay at the end, this is when we realized ourselves that there was a price difference and went up to ask about it. We tried to discuss the issue and the staff were very indifferent and unapologetic which just made matters worst. I don't recommend this place to anyone there are much better vineyards with staff that care and make the experience enjoyable! read more
