AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS STRAWBERRIES!!! It was meant to be - we were in the car reminiscing about the delicious strawberries we had in Japan and happened to be driving by the strawberry sign. I am so glad we stopped by. We got 3 baskets at first but after one bite, we bought another 3. These are FRESH strawberries in the likes that you've never seen in the grocery story. They are JUICY, SWEET, AND RED all the way through! Amazing! Some of the BEST I've ever had! Eat them fast though because they over ripen quickly.

This painting of strawberries brings a lot of joy to the already joyous scenario of being surrounded by strawberries

If you've ever had a good strawberry, know that there's a place with better ones up in Sonoma County's titular town of Sonoma. The berries here are deep red inside, amazing when fresh during the season, and are affordable beyond belief. This place is simple, no frills, and doesn't advertise cause they know word gets around and they know those words aren't lie. You go up and pay for strawberries by the basket (and I highly recommend getting a full tray's 6 baskets cause you'll like them). They're really fast even when the lot is crowded because everyone just gets their strawberries and goes. Can you buy the various other vegetables they have in bags for $4 a bag, too? Yeah, but they really pale in comparison to the fruit that they've mastered. I wish there was more to say about Watmaugh, but that's really all there is. This place arguably has the best strawberries in the Bay Area (if not the entire country as other reviewers, also say and I 100% agree with for now).

    Amazing strawberries

I am not crazy about strawberries because they are tasteless when you get them usually (at the store) but these were a different fruit - so juicy and sweet - One variety was Chandler and the other super sweet variety which had to be eaten within a few hours - amazing mouthwatering ... i never knew strawberries could taste like this ! glad i stopped by on way to Sonoma ....Asian guy who runs the stand was super helpful too

    $16 half flat strawberries

Ventured over to Sonoma to stop here for strawberries as most the Petaluma locations didn't really have good produce. As we pulled up there was plenty of parking spots & a few people leaving. A very popular spot with the product to back that up. We could have gotten the full flat with how delicious these strawberries looked, but settled on a more reasonable amount for the five of us. Being cash only for most strawberry stops like these we came prepared & got the half flat of strawberries )($16) and a basket of yellow peaches ($4 for 4) for a total of $20.00. Looking at the flat, each of our kids were tempted to grab and eat an entire box to themselves so they are safely up front until we get home for a quick clean up before consuming our greatest summer craving.

Great produce and great prices, will definitely be going back. They can be quite busy, but the line moves quickly.

Ask the Community - Watmaugh Strawberries

Does petaluma Boulevard have a strawberry farm with fresh pea strawberries?

Richard, I don't know what a PEA strawberry is? If you are referring to SIZE as the size of a pea then NO, I did not see SMALL strawberries. Regular size and DELICIOUS.

You'll spend a little more, but the shopping experience is more curated and atmospheric, and the products speak for themselves. I stopped in recently while on a short trip to Sonoma, specifically for salsa, some kind of dip or spread for crackers, and a cheese or two. I spent awhile browsing because that's the best part, and left with exactly what I needed (proud and amazed I stuck to my budget haha). I bought a fantastic bleu cheese, brie, a cantina style salsa, and this whipped, layered, tomato-basil dip made of ground almonds, avocado, sour cream, tomatoes, and herbs. Kind of a lot going on, but it was so good. It's always fun to see what you'll find here. Like a locally made gluten free apple pie, the perfect bouquet of flowers, or a freshly baked loaf of sourdough.

If you come in here at five 5 o'clock or after, it's always a disgusting display. Very sad to see.

Its first…read moreopening day was July 9th this year so I figure why not go check out an organic local farm stand. I arrived around 10ish as it is only open from 9AM-1PM and it was jam packed which is a always a good sign. Parking was quite simple, find a space and squeeze in, no lines to guide the challenged rookie drivers. Immediately noticed a wide variety of vegetables and some fruit that was in season and some not. Regardless it all looked very fresh and delicious (Some of the best vege's I've seen in awhile). Now some of the oddball veggies and fruit were tad bit expensive, but it is not local to this area so I can understand. The more popular veggies and fruit were on par or slightly pricier than your chain grocery stores. Now let's take a minute and ponder why one would buy old non enticing veggies and fruit from a major chain and not consider supporting a local farmer and get some organic, fair priced, delicious food? It was a no brainer, I ended up stocking up on carrots, giant onions, romaine lettuce, spicy peppers, cauliflower, and some melons. First time in awhile where I was super excited to get home and whip up a delicious meal. Now I find myself wondering if I can devour all of this in time for next Saturday's opening, yep I'm officially sold. Stop by if you have time on a Saturday, it would be well worth your time.

As I was heading back to the square (where there is an abundance of restaurants), I didn't want the busyness of the scene; thankfully, I got on Instagram, typed "good eats in Sonoma", and BAM! Salumeria Ovello popped up on my feed, and thank goodness it did! An easy 4-minute walk from Vallejo House, Salumeria Ovello is owned by Andrea, who is a Michelin-star chef from the area of Piedmont, Italy. Having been to Italy twice this past year alone, I remember quite well the quality and taste of the classed Italian Sandwiches. The worker who served at the counter was very helpful, and within the restaurant --- there are just a few seats. I'd say, 3 tables with two seats at each table. For my food, I decided to order the Massimo --- which is on "sliced Focaccia, and has sun dried tomatoes, stracciatella di burrata, prosciutto cotto, basil pesto and crumbled taralli (crackers)". Each sandwich is made fresh-to-order, and you can taste the quality. Each ingredient worked together in harmony, and to satisfy the americani in me, I definitely enjoyed the taralli in the sandwich --- reminded me of putting chips in my sandwiches in school. While I waited, Andrea also brought out some slices of salami for me to try --- free of charge, which was very kind of him to do. All in all, if you want to get away from the busyness of the Mission Square, take a 4-minute walk to Salumeria Ovello, and you'll find a little piece of Italy in Sonoma! Ciao tutti!
