Great strawberries! Did not know it was closed Monday and Tuesday. Really was craving some today but alas not open....will be back

Any time I'm in Wine Country, specifically in Sonoma, and it's Strawberry season (which is NOW) you better believe I'll stop here and get a few pints! The strawberries here are a deep red all the way through and are so super fragrant that you can smell them as you walk up to their stand! Service is super friendly and pleasant, and prices are justified for the bomb quality you get. Other types of fruit and produce are also sold here, but do not skip out on these strawberries. On my recent visit, we purchased half a flat(6 baskets) of berries to devour as is, and as a dessert course after dinner. AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS STRAWBERRIES!!! It was meant to be - we were in the car reminiscing about the delicious strawberries we had in Japan and happened to be driving by the strawberry sign. I am so glad we stopped by. We got 3 baskets at first but after one bite, we bought another 3. These are FRESH strawberries in the likes that you've never seen in the grocery story. If you've ever had a good strawberry, know that there's a place with better ones up in Sonoma County's titular town of Sonoma. The berries here are deep red inside, amazing when fresh during the season, and are affordable beyond belief. This place is simple, no frills, and doesn't advertise cause they know word gets around and they know those words aren't lie. You go up and pay for strawberries by the basket (and I highly recommend getting a full tray's 6 baskets cause you'll like them). They're really fast even when the lot is crowded because everyone just gets their strawberries and goes. Can you buy the various other vegetables they have in bags for $4 a bag, too? Yeah, but they really pale in comparison to the fruit that they've mastered. I wish there was more to say about Watmaugh, but that's really all there is. This place arguably has the best strawberries in the Bay Area (if not the entire country as other reviewers, also say and I 100% agree with for now). read more

Gosh I love living in Sonoma County! It's so fun to have farm stands all over the place especially when they specialize in such delicious treats. Today on my drive home from a work meeting I pulled off because they were open which was awesome midday on a Tuesday, to find a variety of strawberries, tomatoes, shell peas, chilies, okra, and homemade jam. No cards which is also no surprise. They do accept Venmo and cash. read more

Hidden Gem right here! I can't say enough about this place: super sweet fruits, fresh veggies, friendly service, welcome feels... just awesome overall! The stand is not overly obvious from Watmaugh rd (we stumbled upon it while on a driving detour), but it's easy to get in and out of there. Here's the fruit I've gotten (and highly recommended): strawberries, peaches, plums, and persimmons. The strawberries were addictively sweet and the peaches and plums were some of the best I've had! Go get some before the end of November (end of the season). I've also gotten: tomatoes and onions... which looked great but I didn't eat them so I can't speak to it. They have great daily veggie options though and I'm sure they are all quality. Do yourself (and your kids) a favor and go get some fruit from this stand now! read more

I am not crazy about strawberries because they are tasteless when you get them usually (at the store) but these were a different fruit - so juicy and sweet - One variety was Chandler and the other super sweet variety which had to be eaten within a few hours - amazing mouthwatering ... i never knew strawberries could taste like this ! glad i stopped by on way to Sonoma ....Asian guy who runs the stand was super helpful too read more

Absolutely the best strawberries we both have had in our lives. We got a small container to take on our way home but I wish I bought an entire slab. Ventured over to Sonoma to stop here for strawberries as most the Petaluma locations didn't really have good produce. As we pulled up there was plenty of parking spots & a few people leaving. A very popular spot with the product to back that up. We could have gotten the full flat with how delicious these strawberries looked, but settled on a more reasonable amount for the five of us. Being cash only for most strawberry stops like these we came prepared & got the half flat of strawberries )($16) and a basket of yellow peaches ($4 for 4) for a total of $20.00. Looking at the flat, each of our kids were tempted to grab and eat an entire box to themselves so they are safely up front until we get home for a quick clean up before consuming our greatest summer craving. read more

I've come to the Watmaugh Strawberry stand since dinosaurs roamed the earth and they are still just as good now as they were back then when I was a wee tadpole! This past Sunday I was coming home from an event in Napa and decided to take Watmaugh home to avoid the Sunday traffic that builds up at 4 way stop at Bonneau/116/121. As I made my approach to Arnold Drive notice Watmaugh Strawberries and made a quick turn into their driveway. And those fresh fruit smells took my breath away. I ended up getting a nice healthy bag of green beans, 2 large cantaloupes that you could smell from a mile away and 3 baskets of the reddest & most fruitful smelling strawberries! When I got home I cut one of the cantaloupes open and it was delicious and sweet! I then washed the strawberries and tasted one, then two, then three, I just couldn't stop as they were so sweet and delicious! I ended up making fresh strawberry crepes with them! And the green beans were so fresh, they had that nice snap to them and were very flavorful! If you're looking for fresh and delicious fruits and vegetables then you need to stop here! Which reminds, me, I need to remember to come here more often, it's a bit out of my way but it's worth it! read more

Hands down the VERY BEST strawberries you'll ever eat! Seasonal but worth the visit. Two varieties, small and large. We've mostly purchased the large ones but happened to get the small ones recently. I guess it depends on what they're harvesting. The small ones were very ripe and we had to eat them right away. But I'm not complaining! It was a strawberry feast! Juicy and delicious. Each and every one! They have other fruit too. Tried the cherries for the first time and they were beautiful and delicious! Small roadside stand and they sometimes sell out so go early. Been hitting Watmaugh Strawberries for many years as it is a short drive from mi casa. I guess I might as well get it out the way, but their strawberries are not organic as many others mention. With that said though it should not take away from their awesome products! Most of their goods are worth the slightly lower price of the organics at Whole Foods or other various supermarkets, but the gem of the crop are the strawberries of course. I usually grab a couple baskets of strawberries which can last me from one day to 48 hours honestly as they are super tasty! I have not had any of their canned goods or other fruits as I am dreaming about ripe strawberries when I show up, but I am sure they are delectable as well. So a short review summed up, if you are in the neighborhood during the harvest season and your sweet yet healthy tooth is kicking in, I'd suggest giving this local strawberry stand some love! read more

Almost always super sweet...at a sweet price! Only way they'd be better is if they were organic. Our most recent visit was today on our way home to Novato after coming to the July 4th parade and cook-out with our sister church (First Baptist of Sonoma). We got a half flat (six baskets) of strawberries for $15, three baskets of blackberries for $10, a melon, and a couple mangoes (yes, they sell other produce besides strawberries). The kids couldn't stop eating the berries on the way home...nor could we...even though we were full of burgers and potato salad. read more

I saw that other reviewers mentioned that this place was organic, I'm sad to say they are NOT ORGANIC and do not follow organic farming principles. They spray 'Round Up' in the spring (straight from the farmers mouth to my ear) to deal with weeds instead of hand pulling them. Although they claim to refrain from spray once the fruit is out, they certainly do not keep organic agricultural practices. Be aware and certainly mention it to them that you value this, maybe we can get them to transition. I love those strawberries too. read more

The strawberries are picked when they are ripe and sold that day. They are perfect when you buy them. Eat them immediately, they don't last long. I've been coming here for 10 years and always eagerly await the opening and the beginning of strawberry season. These are the sweetest strawberries I have ever eaten and I eat strawberries anywhere they are offered, heck I even grow my own, but they don't measure up to Watmaugh ("what-ma", by the way). Just tried to go there today 7/24/21 at 2:45 pm and they were closing up as I pulled up. They post their business hours as open 'till 7pm. Not.
