Sooooooo many apple vanities! It's just a no nonsense apple farm. I was coming to buy in bulk and it did not disappoint. $22 for a huge box of apples, mix and match variety, and I'm set for some canning! All apples are $1/lb. crazy!! Because of Covid, there were no slices being given out but you could just take an apple to sample. Hubby tried a few because we had never heard of some and all said and done, he probably picked out eight different flavor profiles. Cash only. I have loved Walker Apples for decades. Great selection of heritage apples, and a wonderful experience. You drive up the winding road through old orchards, and eventually reach their outdoor shed where they have boxes and boxes of all the varieties that are ripe and available. You can taste them all! They are friendly, knowledgeable, and won't BS you as to the quality of a particular apple this season. Great prices, great relaxed ambiance, and a wonderful trip on a fall day. It's an especially good spot if you are looking to can apple butter, apple sauce, or other apple products in moderately large quantities. Just be careful: It's easy to come home with more apples than you can store! Helps if you have an extra fridge. Highly recommended! read more

Called to see if it was a U-Pick and instead of kindly saying no, they cut me off and said "I'm not a U-Pick" and hung up. I would have happily come up if they said they weren't and had other products available, instead it left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

I've never been so excited for writing a review! Let me start out by saying I love apples, been eating at least two a day for years. Unfortunately I've been stuck buying overpriced apples from major grocery chains....until I found Walker's Apples. Co-worker suggested the place, and was not too far from my work. Make a long story short all 27 varieties are $1 a pound, I repeat ALL 27 varieties are $1 a pound! They spread the 27 varieties between August-December due different ripening stages of various varieties. I have yet to find a apple I have not liked, usually buy about 20 pounds when I go each month (Yes, all 20 lbs for myself!). Do not pass this place up if you are nearby and a apple fan. read more

This farm store/stand is a true hidden gem in Sebastopol/Graton. Rotating varieties of local, delicious apples at very reasonable prices--$1/lb to fill a bag from the bins of pre-sorted apples, or you can buy large boxes to fill for $25/20lb (not sure about the math on that one although that's the size we got :-)) and $35/40lb. Note that this is not a "U pick" orchard; however, we were not disappointed, as the apples in the bins to select from are already sorted and most are perfect. I even saw a woman who worked there take the initiative to pick a blemished apple out of a box that a customer had filled himself to replace it with an unbruised one as he checked out; that exemplifies the unparalleled customer service we experienced at Walker's Apples. As soon as we walked into the tiny open-air store, which is housed in the back of a working apple-sorting shed, one of the two friendly women working greeted us warmly and offered us a sample from the first bin. This continued until she had made sure we tasted each of the seven varieties available--I appreciated the thoroughness and patience! They certainly live up to the slogan on their sign: Try before you buy! I saw a sign up stating they had won Sonoma County Farm Family of the year in 2017, and it's no surprise to me why; their product and service were both exceptional. They claim to have 27 varieties total, available at different ripening points throughout the season (~August to December), and I look forward to coming back to try them all. read more

These are the best apples you will ever have! This is truly more of a warning - beware! for once you have tried one of these delicious Walker Apples, it will ruin all other apple encounters you will have in your life. You will forever be disappointed when you have any other apple than a Walker Apple. I'm the most excited for Walker Apples around harvest for Gravensteins! They're tart, sweet, crunchy - and great for everything! But especially apple turnovers, fritters, pies, cakes...did I already mention turnovers?!? But that's not all you can find here. They grow around 27 varieties of apples, and will let you taste every one if you have the time. Some of my favorites include the Golden Delicious, the Pink Lady, Pippins, the Northern Spy...but there are so many tasty ones to choose from, it's quite hard to go wrong. The family that works the ranch aren't just the sweetest people you'll ever meet, but are also very knowledgeable about their product; they can tell you what each apple is best used for (cooking, eating, baking, etc), what they taste like, when they are in season, how long they'll last, anything and everything one could ever want to know about apples. I know their prices can't be beat...so I would highly recommend that people stop by and see what they are all about! Have been going here for years. You simply can't rival their array of local, hard to find varieties (Northern Spy, for example), or their low-key loveliness, or encyclopedic knowledge of apple. Great place. Not too far off the beaten path and well worth the travel. They have around 25 varieties of apples, and some that are difficult to find even in farmer's markets. We head up there many times during the season to get another batch of different apples. So delicious and very reasonably priced. If you want to rub elbows with real local agriculture people other than the ubiquitous gentlemen farmer grape-growers, meet the Walker family. After more than 25 years of "apple time" with kids and girlfriends, I choose this as my never-miss October destination. Great, fresh apples available as the ripening sequence moves through the months from August Gravensteins until end of season in November for late varieties. 27 or so, if you can remember that many. One Gravenstein next to the barn where the apples are kept was planted in the late 1800s by Mr. Lee Walker's grandfather. Now the Patriarch, Walker has been there every Saturday to hand out samples of what's on hand, and is a real inspiration. I always buy about 35 lbs, and they never last long enough. Healthiest part of my annual diet. Note to vineyard and winery developers: Please don't even think about pulling these historic orchards. read more

My wife and I bought the full and gave most of to our friends - to their delight. They do around ~25 varieties of apples. Definitely call ahead to find out what's in season. It's a hidden little farm that goes about a mile off the main road. The entrance is right at a corner turn and I don't know how some cars make a left onto the entrance since there is a hugh blindspot if you're going this route. Went here thinking there would be some kind of stand for selection, nope. Seems like this is a place meant for people buying in bulk since there are 40lbs or 20lbs boxes and the ladies are packin' them in at the conveyor belt. There are different varieties but, they all come at a different time of the year. When we went, there was only one variety available and a lady that attended to us with a sample. I had been taken here a couple of times by friends and loved the place. Today, just be coincidence, I was driving by and recognized the place. We picked up a great 40+ pound box today of Northern Spy, Grannies, Rome Beauties, and Baldwins for $25 (10/9)... always amazing the difference between Walker's and apples from the supermarket! This year's crop is a few weeks behind because of the cool weather, so there should be lots of good apples into November. A great family operation here that has been running their ranch for over 100 years and is the last big apple producer in the Sebastopol area. read more

Our very first trip to Walkers Apples and we will be going back! There were so many different varieties to choose from. We walked away with a 20lb box that was overflowing. The lady that was telling us about the types of apples and offering us a taste of them so that we could get ones we liked was so helpful. Even as we filled the box, she kept saying "keep going". I was looking at her like "wow, are you kidding me!". She even let me know that if I wanted to bring my grandmother when the pink ladys came into season, I could pull the car right on up to the cement for her ease to walk to where the apples were. I only get apples from Walker's Apple Farm in Graton. I love the Pink Ladies apples. They are sweet and crisp. Mr. or Mrs. Walker will give you samples to taste of the apples that are ready. Gravensteins are first. I like the hard sweet apples for my lunch. I eat 4 a day. You have to when you get 40 pounds at a time. Drive through Graton and keep going on the curves until you see grape vineyards, then go straight up a small road when the main road turns left. 1/2 lovely drive. Park at the end of property behind the main building. You won't be sorry. read more

This place is one of sonoma counties hidden gems. I have been twice so far and every time i go,it gets better and better. The family is always so welcoming and my son had a blast! He made instant friends with the little boy who was there and he got absolutely filthy in the rich dirt they got up there,pure wholesome goodness of boys and their dirt. My dad drove us up their and he actually ended up chatting with everyone there about being in the service and such while i watched the two boys run through the orchard and running down the hill. I think thats probably the most fun he has had anywhere,he has never gotten to get dirty like that before,the smile on his face was so worth it! They had samples of the gravenstein apples they had for sale and we watched the apples take their baths and get picked through and put into boxes. Will definitely recommend this place to family and friends and whoever i can. You cant beat the prices for bulk apples and the atmosphere is perfect and so memorable. read more

This is a place that I have been going to for a very long time. Yes, a genuine Sonoma County original and one of a kind. The Walker family is what keeps America Great and they have some of the best apples you will ever experience. The area in and of itself is a little piece of heaven and I cannot say enough great things about this little farm and the owners of this farm. I wish I had been the first to review. We've been visiting Walker's Apple Farm in Graton for many years now. Today was a nice visit. Lee Walker is an ex pro baseball player and my husband loves to talk for an hour about baseball. They had many varieties to choose from today and I got mostly pippin and granny smith for baking, but they also had some other varieties that I took a little of each. I bought a bushel, the prices are great. $1./pound if you only buy a few pounds, but if you buy a 1/2 bushel, i.e. 20 lbs they are $15, and a full bushel 40 lbs is only $22. We'll give some away, bake a lot and eat a lot of apples the next couple months. The area is so nice too, a lot to see and do in Sonoma county so if you are in the area between May and November stop by Walker's and pick up some apples, you won't be sorry. Also as mentioned, they always let you try them b4 you buy them. read more

Beautiful, real apple orchard and ranch, a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the drive. A lovely woman offers tastes of all the varieties, and unbelievable at $1 per pound, mix 'n' match. Way cheaper if you buy in bulk. No fluff or boutique gifty stuff, just the best apples and all the ambiance of the farm. Did I say that these are the best apples I ever tasted? They are!
