Terrible food quality and customer service. Ordered a huge mojada burrito so a wet burrito with cheese on top. The burrito completely fell apart and since it was for take out they left out the cheese which is part of the dish having sauce and cheese on top. I understand they want to separate sauce on the burrito but I've never had a problem ordering this from any other taquerias. Terrible response to my complaint. Writing this review is very hard for me as Jalapeños is my favorite place to go. I love the Gorditas but the price for one is just crazy now. I like the food, the girls are nice but lately every time we go there's always something wrong with our food. For example I ask for a burrito extra cheese and I get a burrito without cheese. A gordita with sour cream and there's no sour cream. I pay extra to have extra cream, cheese or rice and I don't get what I paid for. Recently I order nachos without Jalapeños or salsa for my husband, he had a long day and was excited about dinner for our special date and a movie at home. As soon as he started eating I saw his face change. I ask what's wrong he said nothing thinking I forgot about the no jalapeños or salsa. He tried eating until he pushed the plate to the side and said I'm not hungry anymore... I checked the plate and Jesus Christ !!!The top had a layer of nachos and toppings and under that beautiful layer the whole plate had jalapeños!!! It wasn't a few... I tried taking them out but the whole plate was covered with them. I felt bad because he couldn't eat his dinner and neither could I for how spicy that was. I understand the rush of making food and mistakes happen but it's become a more than once in a while issue. I don't know if it's because the girls taking the orders rush you to order or because they talk to other employees while taking the orders but there needs to be more attention to detail. Local to my work place I decided to give them a try. Others always say they are good. I'm glad I stopped in. No mask needed & plenty of indoor seating. I decide on the Super Burrito Carne Asada $9.45. This burrito was huge and with great flavor, a lot of meat, guacamole, sour cream & salsa. Also came with rice and pinto beans. I stayed in to eat and was given a basket of chips. They also have a self serve salsa bar. The pickled onions were good as well with the Avocado Salsa, with a touch of heat, but not over powering and very tasty. Although I didn't grab a beer they had approx 6 taps available. The first thing that drew me here was their high rating, and they didn't disappoint! The staff was friendly and helpful and pleasant. And I was excited to learn it was in fact melted montero jack! Next factor the chips of course! It's the base so I except it to stand uo to the weight it carries, literally, I don't want my nachos falling to pieces while I eat them. They did not let me down! AWARENESS: My cousin Chewy talks about this place ALL the time. He goes on and on about how great their Micheladas are. NARRATIVE: Since I knew I'd be in the area. I called my cousin and basically told him to put up or, shut up. I invited him to Jalapeño's and even offered to pay his tab if the Micheladas were everything he's raves about. SCENE: Jalapeño's is located on at one corner of a strip mall. Inside, there is ample seating for larger families with booth seats or, if you visit and just want to grab a bite, a beer and watch a game. There are three bar tables with four seats close to both the bar and restroom. For entertainment. They have three 55 inch TV's positioned on three of the four walls. EVIDENCE: Jalapeño is very clean. The tables upon my arrival were ready to go. They offer a nicely stocked salsa bar for your free chips (you get two free) and their beers come in two sizes. A regular 12 ounce glass and I believe a 40 ounce one. Not too sure of the size but it's pretty huge. I ordered three tacos to try with my beer. One beef. One chicken and one tongue. I also ordered a large Michelada. My steak taco was amazing. Some of the best tasting and well seasoned beef I've had in a long time. The chicken was okay. Next time I'll order it and my beef tongue pan fried so it's crispy. RECOMMENDATION(S): Great spot to grab a Beer, Michelada and some eats. I highly recommend. read more
