My experience matches other one star reviews -- my order was late with shifting explanations and then, ultimately, untruthful emails to cover it up. My project was a straightforward one: a few thousand slipcases funded via Kickstarter, with Jakprints printing them from my provided art file and then fulfilling the orders, sending them out via mailhouse to the individuals. It went wrong in every single place it could go wrong. The month due date crept by, then doubled. People there would tell me samples had gotten mailed, the order had gone to print, everything was in order, only to have weeks pass and then later, other employees emailing to say no, now, really it was happening. Later, another employee would email to say that my art was the wrong format -- after it had already been printed correctly. The left hand never seemed to know what the right was doing. Postage quotes were delayed and delayed and delayed and then finally given right before they were ready to go, without postage options given. Then the fulfillment services were an absolute disaster -- slipcases were sent out in boxes with no protection or extra space at all, so that dozens were delivered completely smashed. When asked to replace the damaged orders, Jakprints announced that they could not print replacements and would instead use the remaining product that was meant to come to me. They said they could discount the order accordingly. The discount never appeared. Dozens of the fulfilled orders have never made it to their destinations, and Jakprints did not ship with a method that accepts tracking (they also used my private personal address as the return address on every order fulfilled). They have not answered emails trying to get verification that these boxes were even sent. At every turn where a mistake could be made, it was made, and apologies never turned into action or refunds or even replacements without costing me money. I genuinely don't understand how a simple order of printed slipcases, mailed to addresses in a spreadsheet, could have so many possible pitfalls, nor how a company can seem to have so little pride in what they do. At every turn, a straightforward answer would have solved every problem, but excuses or straight up ignoring the issue was their option instead. I wish I had the great experiences others seem to have had, but instead, I'm still investing my time into trying to make sure that all the folks who were supposed to get boxes get them. Terrible. ETA: originally this was a one star review, but Jakprints has reached our and worked to replace damaged and missing boxes, as well as making sure I got the original number I'd ordered. K wish this had gone down sooner, but I respect and appreciate that they're trying to do what they can now. It seems like this might have been an ambitious project for them. read more

I called Jakprints after a bad experience with Big Frog in Solon. I explained that I needed to place a new order and was interested in their company. The woman I spoke to just kept pushing me to their website and could have cared less about any questions I had to ask. After going to the website, which is completely void of user friendliness and full of errors when editing/adding items, it took me about an hour to get my shirts selected and images uploaded. After a day of waiting, I received an email stating that I needed to place each cut of shirt for my order individually. Go through that process all over again? No thanks. Maybe that should have been explained by customer service. Moreover, after submitting over $3K in apparel, maybe a phone call to help me should have been in order. Guess not! I love this print place!! I first was going to use another online print place with was 3 times more expensive but they kept saying that they couldn't print a circle business card with a border because it might be off center. Then I decided to try jaks. They offer a FREE sample kit which is perfectly helpful in helping you decide what you really want to order. They were totally fine printing circle business cards with borders and let me tell you, they look amazing! I think the price was about 1/3 Or 1/4 of the other places and they did such an amazing job. I ordered 2500 cards and as a small business that was a little risky but it totally paid off! Get their sample packet! Oh and they have great customer service. THE UP-SIDE: A hip business for absolutely any printing need you may have. I used these guys for a two-sided, color postcard and they did a great job. The web site has all of the templates you may need for your job, and things couldn't be made any easier. With tons of products available, you'd be hard-pressed to find a product they don't offer. THE DOWN-SIDE: The only real down-side to this place is the overdone, uber-hipster attitude. That's not to say the people aren't nice - they are. However, the people here are trying WAYYYYYY too hard to play the part of the indifferent, artsy type. It's fake, and I wish they'd just cut it out. THE SUM-IT-UP: This place is great, and I'll continue to go here for all my printing needs. They're fast, have a great and helpful web site, and have hundreds of products available. I didn't know a printer could was capable of this sort of thing. No, really. And honestly, Jakprints now has a customer for life. I mean, they're so good that I might even consider negotiating my first born, just because. In all seriousness, I've always heard amazing things about these guys. I still to this day am not quite sure what took me so long to give them my business. Maybe I thought they had be expensive... who knows. Regardless, they really worked with me on the mini budget I had for my project. I had one rep who helped me figure everything out in one phone call. I was able to upload, approve and pay for my entire order online and the best part? It was done in like 2 business days. Easy-peasy. Wait, let me correct myself. I think the best part was the price. This is coming from a girl who's been through the ringer with every FedEx Office employee and local print house 'round town. Misprints, reprints, backorders, wrong orders--it's because something I've dread. I even had a girl mess up my order so badly that she tried to charge me $700 for a quantity I did not order! Not anymore. Jakprints is local. They hire local people. Why is this important? Well, for one, those local people know the city and it's businesses. They'll actually take the time to look at your files and check for misprints. I actually had a local print company let me pay for 500 fliers with "Flying Pig" on them. Seriously? You're a Cleveland biz and you don't know that it's supposed to be "Flying Fig"? So, not only did I pay for an over-priced order, I had to pay for reprints and I know for a fact now that you don't even look at your orders prior to printing. Cool. I'll go to Jakprints. Affordable, efficient, friendly, and quality print jobs make me a fan for life. Jakprints is a well oiled machine ready to produce perfect prints on anything you want and for the best price. I have had them do two jobs for me and am ready with a third and each time they've been the best quote, and have gotten me my product faster than I expected. My initial order had a little snafu with the shipping address being inverted, but they were ready to reprint and overnight ship if the packages weren't found. That's stand-up! A lot of places would just blame UPS and move on. My experience with their customer service has been great. Pleasant and helpful. I love that they are an Ohio company and support local Cleveland (my hometown) stuff, especially their band scene, but that they are also the go-to printer for places around the country. I really want to love Jakprints, but they aren't giving me anything to work with. The prices for standard products are pretty consistently higher than their local competitors. And every time I have requested a quote on a custom item, I've had to go back and forth in email with their rep who seems to have little to no experience. He asks for specs even though I gave them in the initial request. He wants a picture of a finished product to better understand what I want. I understand that on unique projects but not on fairly standard print options. I don't even have to have a quote that is set in stone - I'm totally cool with a printer giving me a quote based on his best understanding. We can always go back and change it. But I have to be able to return to my client with options. I end up never getting a quote from Jakprints because the client needs the project printed ASAP and other printers are able to give quotes within a couple of days. If other printers expressed the same confusion as the Jakprints rep, I would assume that I wasn't being clear... But that isn't the case. Bottom line is that Jakprint's sample products look great and I would love to add them to my list of local go-to printers, but I can't do that when their prices are consistently higher and I can't even get a custom quote without spending days going back and forth with their rep. I dislike giving poor ratings to businesses because it can really hurt them. I want to be fair. For that reason - and because the problems I have encountered are inconvenient but not actually harmful to me - I am giving them what I consider an average rating. If I ever work with them, I'll update this review to reflect that experience. read more

I am honestly so surprised this company came through for us. I had a very complicated custom order, I worked with them for a couple weeks through email and phone and they were always great at communicating with me clearly and promptly. I never felt like I was talking to an uninterested employee, everyone always seemed like they actually wanted to help me. I ended up ordering 2000 pieces of my custom order and their price was almost half of what other companies had quoted me. I was a little nervous to receive my order as I still had some fear they would mess up the folds but I received my order the exact day they said I would and the prints were better than I could have ever imagined. I don't think I've ever been as happy with a print job as I have with this one. 100% recommend this company, specially if you're a graphic designer trying to create something really custom. read more

Ordered 5 custom shirts for my pool team. After a long design process due to the need to use their design templates, 1 of the 5 shirts was printed completely inaccurately as the player name and team name were the wrong color and unreadble. On top of that, the shirts were printed on a material that did not stretch or breathe at all so they were also unwearable. I don't know about their other products but do not ever order shirts from here that need to use sublimation printing. Oh and you also have to prepay before speaking to anyone about the product. read more

I had to do a complicated job that involved plastic VIP passes, greeting cards, postcards, and mailing. Jakprints was the only place that could take care of all those things. I haven't seen the final pieces in person yet, but I was really impressed with Jessica there, who went the extra mile to make sure my pieces were sent out by the deadline, even though my client was late providing some necessary information. She also did things like forward photos of paper stocks when there wasn't time to put a sample in the mail. I did have an issue with some paper samples that weren't sent out when they should have been, but the employees did everything they could to make up for it. It's not the least expensive printer I've worked with, but the extra personal service made it worth it for this job. read more

Advertising for company claims that they print accurately from digital images, but after buying some T-shirts, a company salesman said company does not have the digital printing equipment to print gradients on images (.jpg, .psd, or .png) accurately - company printed sharp edges on areas of image that were gradual fade-out to transparency in image sent to them. How to not keep customers These guys totally screwed me, and that wasn't the worst part of it. The worst is that they didn't try to fix it or care whether I was satisfied. I had a big event coming up where I was going to sell my apparel. So I ordered 32 jackets and 30 hoodies to be screen printed. When ordering from Jakprints, if you need to have your order by a certain date you can specify and agree to pay any potential rush fees. Well I needed these by a certain date and specified it. So anyway, my jackets arrived in decent time, but every single one of them was printed upside-down. I was, of course, panicked and upset as my event was coming in a couple of days. I double checked my files and the proof that Jakprints sent, which were fine. I told Sara Lessman of Jakprints about the problem, and even said I was willing to possibly keep them if I could get discounted for the mistake. She offered me $90.56. Ninety dollars and fifty six cents. I paid about $1200 for the jackets, so that covers the sales tax. My other option was to return them and they would send me 32 new jackets with the right print. But the event I ordered them for was in a couple of days. That, coupled with the insulting discount they offered, drew the line for me with the jackets, and I ended up requesting a refund instead of a reprint. Wait, it's not over. I also ordered 30 hoodies from them too, right. So... they printed these hoodies right side up, I really liked them, but they were late. They didn't ship them until after the event I ordered them for! I double checked my order to make sure, and wrote them an email complaining about this, but they never replied. They never replied to me, the unhappy customer, that's a good way to keep business. Two things to note: One, I had been a customer with them already for 3 years, giving them thousands of dollars in business. Two, I haven't been a customer since this happened, which was about a year ago. read more

Worst experience I've had with a printing company. Took us nearly a month to get a quote despite immediately replying to emails and calls on our end while rep took days to reply to us. Then they over charged on first order and credited second order without communicating this to us even once. THEN they kept missing their shipping deadline to get the second order out and changing the ship date again with NO COMMUNICATION from them. We've had to call every other day to get any information from them about the status of our orders and no one seems to know what they're doing over there. A few weeks ago i placed an order for promo stickers my boss wanted to hand out at the next trade show. well everything went good. they had me pay in advance 240 dollars for 1000 stickers, and the proof was sent 18th. the 19th i approved the order and there is were the ball was dropped. The Account rep that i emailed never pushed in the order. they listed on-line that it was in production but the truth of the matter was still needed approval, an approval that i had already given via email. WOW now they have offered free overnight shipping but still will get my product that was payed in advance until THURSDAY 3 days from NOW! Last project i will ever do with them. And now i have a boss upset cause he doesn't have his stickers to give out. I don't recommend to trust this company, and if you do call them all the time to make sure they get your projects done. read more

Company came highly recommended, but after multiple emails back and forth I was unable to get an accurate quote from the company. They also continued to quote a PMS black when I requested their standard spot color. The below shows two of the quotes they sent over, the only difference should be $50 for one pantone match but mysteriously there is a $200 difference - they were unable to explain why. I've ordered form them a few times and their customer service is not great. I over paid for some folders and signed off on the proof and a week later they emailed me and asked me if it's approved... which means my order was delayed a week and it missed our event. They were not willing to fix their mistake at all.... and they did not even apologize for their mistake. They just told me it's delayed and that it's my fault. So very disappointed in them.
