I did business with this place once before when Jake ran the place and I had no problems. Jake passed away and it was taken over by new owners and is ran nothing like it was before. I was asked to wait a month and I did and then 2 months before I got my motorcycle back. I had two main things that I asked to be done and when I got the bike back only one done. You bet what I was told it would cost wasn't the final price and yep over paid for half a job and when I got on the motorcycle to ride it around I discovered loose and missing parts. So I tried to contact them and ask for the parts that was needed, each day for a week I was told they would come by and drop off the parts and each day I got an excuse of why they didn't drop it off so I my self can fix it and make it road worthy. Half the things they said they would do wasn't done and I now have to have someone else take a look at it to make sure that it was done right because I just don't trust them. Not professional, sloppy, disrespectful, they can't keep their word. Your word is everything in a business like this. I don't like being lied to or taken advantage of they did both. I got a call about the carburetor going bad and needed to be replaced. The person I got the motorcycle from told me that the carburetor was a racing one and very expensive that only a scumbag mechanic would try to tell me it was bad and give me a used one. (Who can I trust?) I get another call about the back brake rotor and something else after they had (already checked in the beginning) the bike as to give me a price for the work to be done. Either case my experience with them was like being lied too my face while they did what they wanted in a rushed sloppy job that wasn't completed. I can keep on ranting with more details but I think everyone gets the point. I wish Jake was still around he was a good guy. So today I took my motorcycle out around the block and noticed the speedometer cable was no longer tied to keep it from moving around as it was before and it got caught on the foot peg and pulled it from the screw part of the cable because someone undid it and didn't mount it back to the frame. I checked the pictures I took from before it to make sure it had cable ties and sure enough it was tied before I took it them. read more

Jakes Shop took in my Harley Trike and fixed all that was wrong with it to make it safe (had to re due what the original shop messed up) and are now adding air filters and big tires etc.. they are wonderful to work with because they are so loyal to their customers and take such pride in their incredible work. Wouldn't recommend. Unfortunately they don't keep their word. Charge you for parts broken from their doing. Brought my bike in no problems at all. Was told THEY broke my throttle when pulling my bike out. I understand accidents happen. So they fixed the throttle but charged me for the piece they broke. Awesome shop! First time getting service done. Matt was very welcoming and helped out a lot. Had my 5K maintenance service and was done in a couple of hours. Everyone there was nice and welcoming. Also met Josh when i picked up my bike. Nice guy as well. Overall, work done was excellent and on a good schedule. What struck out the most about the shop was they made sure i got home since it was raining pretty bad and rodes were very wet and slippery. Shows a lot about them. Highly recommend. I highly recommend Jake's Customs, LLC. These guys are friendly, professional and do great work. I have had work done on a previous bike at Jake's, but when I purchased a new 2019 Softail Heritage in August 2019, I knew that I needed their help customizing my bike. This week they installed new 14" apes and new grips on my bike. Mark completed the work faster than anticipated, and I'm so happy with their work. Josh even offered to trailer my bike back to Lodi since it was getting dark, and I had quite a ways to go in rush hour traffic. I declined his offer, but was super impressed that he would even offer to do that. That evening, Josh checked with me to make sure that I made it home safely. Later that night, I was messing around with my back seat and dropped the seat screw, and it was lost somewhere in the bike (so I thought). I looked for that screw for two days. To my surprise Josh messaged me to follow up to see how I was enjoying my new bars. I told him what happened with the seat screw. He said he had the tools to find it and would come to my house in Lodi to help me. That's unheard of! I couldn't believe he was willing to do that. That's definitely going above and beyond to provide superior customer service. Josh, Jenn and Eric were in Lodi in about an hour, and within 30 seconds the problem was solved, and I learned something about my bike and the "lost screw" that really wasn't lost. It was just hiding. LOL! Even though I knew these guys were great, I was blown away by the extra step in helping me with the "lost screw". Jake's Customs has a customer for life in me, and I will recommend them to all of my friends and family that need their Harley's worked on. If I could give this shop lower then one star I would found this shop through Google my lower end had major run out and I needed a reliable shop that would return a call just once I only went to this shop because supposedly the owner is a veteran and I tend to like dealing with veteran owned establishments because I to am a veteran severely disabled and I assumed this shop would take care of me when came to the shop the owner was not there his employees said to leave my number and the owner would call back so after waiting 3 days for a call I call the shop the employee said the owner was not there and he will make sure he calls me when he gets in after another 3 days of waiting I called the shop once again this time the employee said the owner was there but was busy and he would call me back the only reason I put up this nonsense was because the employee said the owner will take care of me and they need to setup a day to set aside a date to pull apart the motor needless to say that phone call from owner I was waiting for never came so I moved on this shop gave me a weird vibe I am justing saying a weird vibe would I recommend this shop to what little friends I have NO read more

I called Jake explaining I was a new motorcycle owner and wanted him to give my bike a once over look. He told me to come on down and he'll fit it in or I might have to leave it there depending on what time I showed up. I asked around for a recommendation for a Harley mechanic and several people suggested to me that I visit Jake at Jake's Custom Cycles. I came in not knowing what I wanted or needed to get the performance gains I wanted for my 2017 Street Bob. I told Jake that I didn't really know that much about Harley's but I knew I wanted more power and better exhaust. Jake told me, "That's not a problem." and then he asked me some questions about my riding style and what I might be looking to change. He made some recommendations and then explained the process.
