Over $20,000 in work and a disappointing lack of accountability -- proceed with caution…read more
We hired 3G Plumbing and Backflow LLC for a whole-house plumbing and gas replacement costing over $20,000. The company's website advertises a 10-year warranty on repairs, licensed and insured technicians, and a commitment to transparency and customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of those expectations.
We experienced multiple issues with the gas work, followed shortly afterward by an incorrectly connected kitchen sink drain that caused significant moisture damage to flooring in four areas of the home. The company acknowledged the incorrect drain connection after we reported the problem. Despite repeated requests, we could not obtain the reassurance we were seeking that the rest of the plumbing had been checked and that no other leaks were occurring.
Once the flooring was opened, the extent of the damage became clear. Repairs involved substantial flooring and subfloor work, as well as cabinet repairs. The damage left the affected space unusable for our tenants, and we were left coordinating repairs, managing tenant concerns, and covering additional accommodation and cleaning costs. This was a significant burden that should not have fallen on us after investing so much in a whole-house replacement.
What has been most disappointing is how the owner, Ryan, has handled the situation. Rather than working toward a resolution that reasonably addresses the documented repair costs, the company offered $4,469.24 against $8,938.49 in documented expenses. I even offered to absorb $2,000 of the flooring and subfloor costs as a good-faith compromise, reducing the amount requested to $6,938.49, so we could settle this directly and move on. Even with that concession, we could not reach an agreement.
When I requested the company's insurance carrier and claim information as an alternative way to address the damages, that information was not provided. Instead, the company insisted on a signed release of liability before making its proposed payment, despite the substantial gap between the offer and the documented costs.
Mistakes can happen in any trade. What matters is whether a company takes ownership, communicates transparently, verifies that the underlying problem has been addressed, and stands behind its work. In this case, both the workmanship issues and the difficulty obtaining a reasonable resolution have been deeply disappointing. The company's advertised commitments to dependable service and customer satisfaction did not match our experience.
My advice is to proceed with caution before hiring this company. For a project costing over $20,000, I expected far better workmanship, follow-through, and accountability. Verify licensing and insurance independently, obtain clear written warranty terms, and document everything. Based on our experience, I would not hire this company again.
