Food hall with a difference
Keith H.

Authentic which means limited English. Located in ultra smart mall in 5star food court. Food very good. Moroccan mint tea hit the spot and beef brisket ultra soft and well cooked if somewhat Wet(?). Turmeric cauliflower in display counter and reheated to order. Israeli salad as ever really good. We sat at bar but also to go but we're not given knife or fork or asked if what we ordered was good. So in summary. Good food. Great location. Ok service

Chicken Shawarma Platter

This restaurant is located in a pretty upscale food hall in a very upscale outdoor mall. They serve Mediterranean food. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma. It was good. I was impressed with the presentation. I wasn't expecting the multiple tiers of food. All in all a pleasant experience. The food is a little pricey... But, it was good.

This Kosher restaurant located at the MIA Market Food Hall in the Miami Design District offers many healthy options. The modern Israeli cuisine features a diverse lineup of chef driven concepts. We had the Sabich Plate $27 on a three tiered server, the Tumeric Cauliflower $17, and the Moroccan Mint Teapot with two Baklavas $12. Everything was delicious. We ordered at the counter then they brought the food to our table. Service was great.

We ate here with friends the other day. Items consumed were the brussels sprouts, baklava, hummus / pita, falafel and a brisket pita. The food was very good. I especially enjoyed the brussels sprouts, which were sweet and savory. I did not sample the brisket pita or the baklava. Larry S. reported that the brisket pita was absolutely delicious and was an ample serving size with plenty of non-greasy meat. Why is this not a 4 or 5 star review? They charged an auto-tip of 18% AND charged extra for take away (the brisket was consumed off premises) without providing napkins. A service charge shouldn't be assessed without providing service, and if they are charging for take away, all of the associated accoutrements should be provided. While I will return to MIA Market, I won't patronize Jaffa again. The pricing for the food is fine as it's high quality, but the "extras" are not worth it. It felt too nickle-and-dimey.

This was one of the best middle eastern Israeli meals I had in my life and I am from Israel! The food was incredible and the hospitality! Highly recommend and gladly come back again

Falafel Platter - Hummus served with falafel balls, garnished with parsley, paprika, and drizzled with olive oil, in a restaurant setting.

This is the second place we tried at the MIA Market and it was another miss for us. We ordered the falafel platter which was beautiful. It came with hummus, pita, pickles, and a tomato/cucumber salad. Everything was just kind of bland. I wouldn't say it was necessarily bad, it just didn't have much flavor. I love hummus and falafel, but these were just not great. This was another place that felt pretty expensive too. I would skip this place and market when in Miami and find better food elsewhere.

What a great find! If you want some BOMB hummus, come here ASAP. Hummus hummus hummus hummus hummus perfection. The pita is excellent too. If you get a chance, chat with the owner, great guy!

Highly recommend Jaffa Restaurant!! We visited the Atlantic Village in Hallandale within 2-weeks of opening this new location. Five+ stars for cleanliness, ambiance, décor and service!! They also have the ideal menu; offering both unique/fusion dishes and authentic Middle Eastern favorites. Due to the size of our party, we decided to go mezze/tapas/family-style and ordered lots of different menu items. I can honestly say that everyone was impressed at how authentic and delicious everything was. Being that my hubby is Middle Eastern, I can vouch for it's authenticity. As for me, I will be returning very soon and ordering the Turmeric Cauliflower with Zaatar Tahini all to myself!

Jaffa platter - A man with a shaved head and beard sits at a table with a three-tiered stand of Middle Eastern food, including hummus, pita, and vegetables.

After walking the whole MIA market twice since it was my first time there, I decided Jaffa had to be it because of my wife's veganism and my love for Israeli and Middle Eastern food as a whole. Having been to Israel three times, most recently end of 2019, and having grown up with great spots in Puerto Rico and Boston, my experience with fresh hummus has led to a high standard and boy did they deliver. The meat kebabs and hummus were very well seasoned and filling. Cannot wait to go back and will likely call on them to cater an event in the future.

Absolutely wonderful food ! The owner was so kind and gave us five stars Israeli service! I ordered some shawarma and rice bowl and it was great!

I came from San Diego and was looking for a good hummus place. I was very impressed with the great service and with the amazing food! I ordered the hummus with shawarma and it came in a beautiful impressive display tray! I highly recommend it and definitely be back to eat there!

Seating is mostly outdoors and beautifully decorated, definitely a nice selection for an intimate event. Service was wonderful! The spanakopita was nicely flaky, the spinach filling wasn't overly bitter or pungent (my boyfriend is not a fan of strong feta flavors and enjoyed this while I am a feta enthusiast, we felt that this was right in the middle of our demands which worked great). We both love moussaka which is what my boyfriend ended up getting, dare we say it was our favorite moussaka out of any Greek restaurant in America thus far (coming from New Yorkers frequently visiting Astoria). It was broiled to perfection to give the cheese/béchamel layer a light crunch at the top and maintaining that richness underneath. The eggplant and ground meat were well seasoned. I really enjoyed my stuffed peppers as well (rice pilaf, ground beef, and feta on top), the tomato broth/sauce gave a nice sweet and savory flavor with the meal. Finally, a superb pistachio baklava, 10/10. Super impressed with what Miami had to offer for Mediterranean.

For context, I worked in fine dining in New York and Miami for almost 20 years, so I notice the details immediately, hospitality, management presence, the energy of a room. You can usually tell pretty quickly what kind of operation you're dealing with. We were a party of five. I arrived with my four-year-old son and was greeted warmly by the hostess. That warmth ended instantly. Standing directly behind her were two managers in suits blocking the main entrance. Both looked straight at me and my child and said absolutely nothing. No hello, no smile, no acknowledgment. Anyone in hospitality knows that moment sets the tone. As an Arab woman who grew up around a culture where hospitality is everything, it was already a bad sign. We were seated outside and the vibe stayed cold. Unfortunately, the food matched it. We ordered a lot because I genuinely wanted to give the kitchen a fair shot. I grew up eating Lebanese food and what stood out most was the lack of soul. Everything felt flat, like it needed salt, lemon, brightness, that warm Mediterranean seasoning Lebanese food is known for. The tabouli was especially shocking. A $20+ tabouli with no bulgur that was so roughly chopped it was basically whole parsley leaves and slices of onion. Any Lebanese auntie would die at the sight of it. At one point I asked our server if they had harissa or any kind of spicy sauce. She said the only option was Sriracha. In a Lebanese restaurant that charges $18 for a tablespoon of hummus. An Asian chili sauce as the only option. What made it even stranger is that harissa is listed on multiple dishes on the menu, so it clearly exists somewhere in the building. I asked for the Sriracha anyway out of desperation for flavor. It never came. Same with ketchup for my toddler's fries, it took three requests. Throughout the meal I walked around the restaurant several times taking my son to the bathroom, looking around the space, even going upstairs to the lounge. Not a single person acknowledged us. Not a host, not a server, not a manager. The bar is right by the entrance and every time we looked over at the bartender and bar manager, just blank stares. At one point we were clearly standing there confused looking for the bathroom in an empty restaurant and still had to say "Excuse me, where is the bathroom?" Wild. Later I walked up to the bar myself to ask if they carried mezcal. After dinner I went back to order one. Same energy--zero warmth, zero engagement. And this is with an automatic 20% gratuity already on the bill. The mezcal was a $25 two-ounce pour and I still had to ask for an orange slice garnish because no one offered it. Empty bar, two people behind it, and I still had to request it. Also worth noting, our reservation was at 5:45pm and the restaurant was practically empty. Yet I didn't see a single manager walking the floor, greeting tables, or checking on guests. I had talked this place up to my party because I'd been so curious about it for years, and it was honestly a huge letdown. If you know Lebanese food and understand Middle Eastern warmth and hospitality, this probably isn't the place for you. Expect cold, almost nonexistent hospitality and food that feels stripped of the soul that makes Lebanese cuisine special. The space is beautiful. I'll give them that. Everything else felt like a very on-brand Miami disappointment, what happens when you give people a beautiful restaurant, expensive food, automatic gratuity, and no leadership. From the lack of authenticity and attention to detail, it's hard to believe anyone truly Lebanese is behind this operation. If anything, it feels more like a polished money grab. Honestly, it might have been less jarring if they just called themselves "Mediterranean" like so many other places in this city. But if you're going to call yourself a Lebanese restaurant, the culture and hospitality should actually be there.

We were whisked inside to the intimate, dimly lit interior with a DJ table tastefully tucked away in the back of the space. Service was welcoming but overall, not quite as warm and attentive as I've experienced at other places in town. We started off with the Turkish Manti Dumplings, which were the standout of the night. The complexity yet restraint of flavor, balancing indescribable buttery, roasted, earthy notes with a touch of umami and subtle tanginess from the yogurt. The Mezze Sampler was a nice option for trying three of the dips. All very tasty, but I've had slightly better elsewhere. The Sweet Jeweled rice was the other standout with flavor and textural variety that made each bite pop. I found the Roasted Brussels Sprouts undercooked and lacking the same level of flavor as the other plates. The weakest dish of the evening. The Grilled Whole Bronzino got top marks from the meat eaters at the table. Overall, 4/5 stars for a delicious meal but with tough competition around town limiting my ability to hit that 5.
