First time stopping in to JAFB. I am impressed! One bartender serving everyone - and the dude was fast. No time wasted. It's large, several tables - we were able to play some card games while we drank. A nice spot, clearly?l, to come with friends. The important part - their beers were all solid. I have had a couple of their beers in the past, but at Land Grant's Oktoberfest my friend kept bringing me their Cold IPA (I was pouring for Sierra Nevada) - my girlfriend - who grew up in Wooster - ended up pouring JAFB. Making it to Ohio to a bunch of breweries isn't high on priority list but the tally keeps growing on breweries from this state. It certainly isn't the breweries themselves here but more of the locale. And I am trying to say that with as much diplomacy as I can. One of the latest breweries I tried from The Buckeye State was JAFB Wooster Brewery. Steve and I had the Vienna Lager called the 90 Foot To Vienna. I do like lagers and this type is fairly high on my list on fondness for lager types. Flavors to detect and have fun with here are biscuity, grainy, malty, some honey can be noticed and a clean aftertaste. All in all a very pleasant lager to have as the temps crank up outside for the summer. read more

We stopped in for some liquid refreshment on our first visit to Wooster and had a great experience here. The tasting room is quite large but warm feeling with brick and wood. Service at the bar was prompt and friendly, and we found ourselves wanting to linger. Cream Ale, Vienna Lager, Mango IPA - all were solid choices. This was a brewery in Wooster, OH that I wasn't going to check out initially. It's a brewery and I wanted to focus on wineries and distilleries. But my wife mentioned it and I'm like let's go. I said this brewery turned me off initially because of the name "JAFB" like come on. Remember my initial reaction. We walk in and the place is very nice and large inside. It looks like it was a US Post Office previously but not quite sure. We go and order and I normally get a bunch of samples, but I didn't want to be tore up before the NFL Hall Of Fame event later. I just ordered the New England IPA and my wife ordered the Lemon Lime Kolsch. OMG, I think the New England IPA was better than anyone I tried in Pittsburgh, PA area. It was juicy and really good. I asked what does JAFB stand for. He smirked and said we are "Just a Fucking Brewery" OMG... I said that's got to be the best brewery name that I've ever heard of. Cool place! The Wayne County Cream Ale is smooth and light. The Coffee Stout is surprisingly light too. Great selection here... though, I wish they had a cider. But they did have a fruit ale which was a bit on the sweet side but pretty tasty. read more

Stopped in on an early Saturday evening and this place was hoping with all kinds of people: families, people in sports uniforms, dates, buddies, and a group all dressed up. It's open seating with large shareable fancy picnic tables to intimate high top tables for 2. Since I'd never been before I got a flight of 4 with the harvest saison, hefeweizen, raspberry, and Colombian coffee nitro porter. While all tasty the nitro porter was the best that I've had....too many. Other stuff - From our window seat there appeared to be a small side patio when patio season is around. Stopped here while in the area. We had wanted to come here previous but was never down that way. The atmosphere was light and fun. The bar seems to the locals vibe but everyone was nice and the bartender was attentive. We had 2 rounds. All 4 beers were good. We had the stout, the apricot ale, the Hefeweizen, and the Really Raspberry. We will stop here again if the area. If I could give it a 6, I would We did the Summit County Brew Path two years in a row and have visited many breweries. This is the first brewery I visited that I liked EVERY taster I tried! Husband-approved as well :) Great open space with tables spread out for easy social distancing. Celebrated our 9-year anniversary and we even took home a souvenir glass. With so many shops and restaurant options within walking distance, this brewery is not the only reason to visit Wooster for the day... but it's the best reason! read more

We visited this brewery semi frequently when we lived in Wooster. It was a fun place to hang out, service was always good, and they have solid beer! A few of our favorites are the Really Raspberry Ale, the Wayne County Cream Ale, and the Coffee Porter. There are also lots of pizza places around to order in from, and they often have food trucks on the weekends. read more

I stopped here with a group of friends after a wedding last weekend. The space is open with big and small tables, and you get to seat yourself. There are TVs everywhere - that night they were playing the Ohio State game. Myself, along with one of my friends, were the first ones there. We went up to the bar and ordered the raspberry beer. It was so yummy! It didn't taste like fruit juice, just had the right amount of flavor. There is a huge variety to choose from, so if you like beer, any kind, this place is for you! The bartenders were all friendly as well. They don't have food that I saw, but there was a food truck outside in case you want to grab a bite, which is a nice option. You can also bring in your own food from anywhere! If we didn't live so far away, I'd say we'd be there a couple of times a month. It's a great place to hang out with a big group or just chill and watch a game with 1-2 other people. read more

JAFB has a wide selection of in-house micro brewed beer. They do not offer food but there are a number of restaurants nearby and DoorDash or Uber eats are a good option. They also offer growlers for takeout at a reasonable rate. Amazing place! Every time I come into town I have to check out JAFB. We are from the Denver area and we have a TON of amazing breweries. jAFB is one of my favorite breweries in the state of Ohio. How many times has this happened to you? You just picked up a delicious pizza and you're craving a really good beer, but you don't have a place to enjoy the pizza. And you don't have any beer... If you happen to be in Wooster, Ohio, problem solved! Just make your way over to JAFB Brewery. JAFB will gladly sell you one of their delicious beers and provide you ample room to dine on that pizza, or whatever you're eating. That's because JAFB isn't one of those fancy breweries that has a kitchen in back. These guys just love beer. And they want you to enjoy it, with whatever vittles you may bring along. Personally, I'm glad JAFB doesn't have to worry about a kitchen. I hate having to evaluate a brewery when the food is 50% of the experience. This means I can just focus on the beer. JAFB has a great atmosphere and it's wide open with plenty of picnic style tables. It's also nice and clean and they have a great selection of beers! My best friend and I tried our favorites. He got a Red Ale (6.0%) and I went with the Rain Delay IPA (6.5%). I could tell this was a great beer the instant I caught the aroma. It was nice and hoppy and had that wonderful Juniper scent. JAFB is a cool place to drop in for a quick drink, but I wish we could've hung out longer. It would've been great to sample a few other offerings. No matter, I will be back to visit again. In the meantime, let's keep JAFB busy until I get back with that pizza. read more

Took a fieldtrip from Cleveland and visited this brewery down in Wooster. Very clean, modern interior with long tables spread out across the venue. I took a seat at the bar to get a good glimpse at their beer board. They have a fairly large selection with 10+ JAFB drafts on tap. I did a bit of sampling and settled on the Rain Delay IPA, followed by the Stunt XXVIII IPA. The rain delay is like a Hop Bomb explosion. HIPPITY HOPPITY. Great bitter pine with faint notes of Grapefruit. The Stunt IPA is more juicy with fresh citrus and tropical fruit. Yummy. There is no food at JAFB but plenty of options available in walking distance. The friendly bartending staff guided me to place called Muddy's right across the street which had the perfect food for soaking up the IPAs. JAFB is 1 hr from Cleveland and definitely worth a visit! read more

JAFB is exceptional, especially for being in a small town like Wooster. The level of beer produced in such a facility is truly a blessing for Wayne County. And, now Cleveland gets to enjoy it too after their partnership with the stadium! JAFB doesn't serve food, but they do allow you to bring your own. (As of March 2016.) The beers scale from light and hoppy to dark and barrel aged. There are some really exceptional beers available, so bring your growler for a refill! Get some friends, (and a DD. The Double JAF IPA is a solid contender anywhere and my preferred. ONE HUGE BEEF I HAVE IS THEY REFUSE TO SERVE THE DOUBLE IPA IN A PINT GLASS. THEY WILL ONLY SERVE IN A 14OZ "GIRL CUP". Great local brewery. It's a BYOF format. We went with the local pizzas. I was gathered with some mutual friends of someone who just passed. We were meeting to share stories after the wake. They kept the place open for us late, which was really thoughtful. Context aside, the beer was delicious. Tried an ale, their IPA, and a saison. All were solid specimens of the brew. Their selections are numerous, the ambience is dark and artsy, and the locals are some of the warmer people I've run into at a watering hole. Really had a delightful time there. While the tables are not glass friendly (uneven) it does create a beautiful relaxing atmosphere. Staff was helpful, chill, and knowledgeable. You may bring your own food and though we are new to exploring the area, we have found some great eats in the area or just pack your own dinner. Drank beer and played games with another family. We are used to Colorado breweries that are family friendly ( I get it, seems weird, bad parents) and this one is really like that. They sell soft drink and candy and it's not an inappropriate bar scene. We were comfortable bringing snacks and games and adults having a couple of beverages. Both families had a really fun evening. Will be back, and might take on an escape room nearby next time. Fun town to explore. read more

I'm a beer guy, so when someone told me a brewery opened in Wooster, I knew I had to make the trip. Wooster Brewery is housed in a large, open space that is decorated with modern art, an old red and black tile floor, hand crafted tables and a large bar. The staff is pretty cool(mostly family I think) as is the brewer, Paul. The beer down here is really good; as good as most of the stuff you would find in large cities more known for their beer. No food here, but you can bring it with you. Also, the last time i was here it was still cash only. A great place in Downtown Wooster. read more

Wow. Very, very, very nice beer and atmosphere. All beer is brewed in house and is some of the best award-winning brews n Ohio. Was in Wooster during their two year anniversary party and here's what I experienced. Sorry Columbus Brewing Company but JAFB has THE. BEST. IPA in Ohio-the JAF IPA. The taste and aroma (oh the aroma) is amazing. I can still smell those Citra hops.... BOTTLE IT ALREADY! Their Creature Feature Pumpkinweizen is CLOSE to being the best I've every had but I think Cincy's Rivertown takes that crown, but JAFB's is such a nice balance of flavor yet isn't as smooth. Their New Stunt IPAs are very good as well but I couldn't really tell a taste difference in any of the IPAs. Tried a limited Rosemary Saison which was okay. The tap room is huge with a lot of seating-great for groups. With all the biergarten style seating taken there's plenty of room to stand and enjoy a pint. besides small bags of pretzels there's no food served but a food truck is usually in their private parking lot and they encourage BYOF. Outdoor seating also available. The ONLY thing I hate about the place is their bathroom situation. It's gas station style-sink, toilet and urinal all in one room. I'm not really used to standing in line for the bathroom in a bar or brewery setting. This is a destination I'd recommend any of my Columbus IPA loving brethren to go search out. JAFB has started to grow on me. I was put off initally by the cash only model and the brews were just "okay" for my taste buds. Sometimes I got a "who's this guy" vibe when walking through the doors. Much of this is part of the customer culture which...in fairness, hasnt had a lot in the way of options for a decent bar/tavern to choose from. Ole jaol says brewery on the sign but is anything but. JAFB is a brewery that happens to have a bar. A lot like if u went to Miller or Sprecker brewery and ended a tour at the bar. That is unless your a cool kid and drop lots of cash on the regular. It is in fact Just Another F...ing Brewery. They nailed it. I'm more of a tavern fan but apprecate the option on occasion. Porter on the Nitro pour is my go to when avail. You can BYO food so grab a bucket of KFC or some smelly fish stew and impress the locals with your culture...laughs are sure to ensue. read more
