Seating in the bar area. Not too noisy.
Yvonne G.

Saturday night and it was packed as expected. My reservation was honor right on time. Something to be said for this. I had the wor wonton soup which was delightful with a strong, flavorful broth, veggies and one shrimp. The broth was on the saltier side but not offensive. I noted that the wontons were not delicate; probably those premade frozen ones. My shrimp in lobster sauce came with plump, juicy shrimp which were not overcooked. The sauce was on the salty side, but I like salt so I ate it. The chef should keep this in mind since other people are not so forgiving. The General Tso's chicken was amazing with notes of sweet and sour. The portions on both dishes were great. The service was friendly and attentive. We'll always come back.

Cashew chicken and plum wine

Great spot, we come here when my family is craving some good Chinese food. Portions are big so there's usually leftovers. Their plum wine is my go to beverage to pair with whichever dish I choose for the evening. This night, I went with cashew chicken and it was delicious. Service is always friendly. Nice seating area and there is a bar area as well in the other direction of the main room. Personally haven't done take out orders from here, but they are always packed with them from what I've seen

Jumbo Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce

Excellent food, all servers and wait staff very professional and attentive to detail. Ambience: beautiful candles and flowers on table. Sat in a beautiful booth. Make a reservation- we're so glad we did because it became packed with every table occupied. I had the sizzling steak and scallops in oyster sauce. My sister had the shrimp /veggies with black bean sauce... OUTSTANDING!

They're only concerned about pumping out drinks to the tables. If you don't mind shitty service, the people are pretty nice at the bar, but they pay no attention to the food service whatsoever. I have eaten there many times and found the food service at the bar atrocious. But when the food finally does come, it is fairly good. They do have a manager who came up to us and asked how everything was, I said the food took an awful long time to get here as it always does at the bar, he said" we're busy " stupid comment from the Manager. They knew we annoyed, They never asked us for dessert or coffee just handed us the check. Since this is the way of the world now be politically correct and don't speak your mind, people like us are dying off, so hopefully they'll survive another day with all the PC people coming into Scottsdale to eat there. If you've been to their Camelback location, you'll be happy to know it's the same high-quality food and service here. I would love to go for happy hour and apps, the environment is very lively with outdoor seating when the weather is nice! The Portuguese Stew was our favorite dish, the white fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce paired perfect with the vegetables and fish. I ate it together with the rice, Calabrian chili, and herbs that came with it. The short rib agnolotti was another great dish that melted in your mouth and had a great cambozola cheese that added a lot of flavor. Great visit, look forward to going back!

The Beef Tenderloin Skewers were just okay; the presentation was a bit stark and the beef a bit grisly (almost impossible for tenderloin). Overall, a nice outdoor experience so we will likely return.

Inside, the decor absolutely steals the show. It's vibrant, detailed, and feels authentic without trying too hard, every corner looks intentional and elevated. Now the food... next level. The guacamole was ridiculously fresh and packed with flavor, easily some of the best I've had. And the mole? Unreal. We figured by now, the kinks would be worked out but unfortunately this experience was worse than our first visit. Let's start with the positive. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. The first time we sat upstairs and the vibe was amazing. Unfortunately, they said they could only seat us outside (although I saw many tables inside remain open during our dining experience). The outside was fine. They had a nice fire and the weather was just right. Chase was our waiter and he was patient and attentive. We ordered the guacamole (without cotija cheese) to start. It was so offensively salty (like someone dumped a bucket of salt in it) that all 4 of us agreed that it was inedible. I asked Chase if they could make us a fresh batch. He said he would send another order out. This time it came covered in the cotija cheese and was twice as salty as the first batch. That was taken away and we asked to try the street corn. What we received was a bowl of cold corn mixed in too much mayo and sprinkled in tajin. We didn't complain, we just didn't eat it. I did question Chase as to why they couldn't make us some fresh guacamole that wasn't overly salted and he said that they could, but it would take 25 minutes due to the fact that one big batch was made in the AM. What?! Shocking considering this place markets and prices itself as high end dining with freshly made food. I've made guacamole a hundred times and it's never taken more than a few minutes. I'm so surprised that the kitchen didn't want to make it right and served us the exact same thing we ordered plus the cheese we didn't want. For our entrees, we had the flank steak, the shrimp, chicken enchiladas and surf and turf. My shrimp was inedible. It was so incredibly salty (the theme of the restaurant) and not cooked properly. The inside was mushy and raw. My husband loved his steak and our friend enjoyed his surf & turf ($115). Our other friend liked her enchiladas but did feel like they were overly salty. We enjoyed our spicy margaritas and then on the next round, we asked for the pineapple infused margaritas. I asked for them to leave the syrup out of mine as I prefer my drinks less sweet. Another server brought them and I asked which one was the less sweet one. He said, "I don't know" and then bailed. Our jaws dropped. They were both syrupy so we let Chase know. He brought me one back that was better and made the way I asked for it to be made. We live down the street and have been to every restaurant in Market Street and surrounding areas and honestly, this would be at the bottom of our list and we won't be back.

Where things really took a turn was the food. I was so hoping I found a new staple in our walkable restaurants list but the food was mostly disappointing. We liked our fairly standard French onion soup and Caesar salad. The shrimp cocktail were not good at all. Shrimp was tough and mealy. They marinate them with a bunch of herbs. Maybe that caused the unpleasant texture? On top of that, I did not like the herbs used in the marinade. Good shrimp cocktail stands on its own! I should also add that these were $7/each. A week later I had the most amazing shrimp cocktail - tender and sweet and almost double the size for $4/each. I don't mind paying $7. I've paid $13 each for good shrimp cocktail. Just a lot of money to spend on something so disappointing. Our sea bass was also tough. Flavor was okay. The piece was fairly thin - possibly why it was overcooked? For those who love sea bass, I suggest checking it out at SumoMaya or Dominick's. Can't be beat! Sadly, I don't think we'll be back. Too many other excellent options nearby.
