It's been a few months since I've been there, they do have a decent all you can eat buffet for lunch at a reasonable price.

Absolute worst Chinese food we have ever had. The Buffett food looked old and empty so we ordered off the menu. I specifically asked our server if everything would be cooked fresh and not taken from the Buffett, she said yes. We waited a long time and there were maybe eight other people in the restaurant. The crab Rangoon was grossly over cooked and either no filling or it was completely cooked out. Our entrees finally came out, my shrimp was so overcooked there was no shrimp in them. Then I observed her take our soup from the buffet and refused it and also sent my shrimp back to take off the bill. I had to ask for water which I ordered. The server was absolutely clueless. Chinese in Spearfish? I was skeptical but took the chance. Full disclosure, I did not like what I saw on the buffet line, so we ordered off the menu. The food was hot and very good. I was shocked how good it was. The egg rolls were the best ive ever had, and the General Tso was great. 0 issues, the service, price, and vibes were great. I went to this place about 6pm. I found the buffet very disappointing. Food was only lukewarm. Not a lot of variety. Many of the main pans like rice, noodles, and mushrooms were empty and they were not going to refill them. This place is very over-priced for what is offered. I would not recommend this place. Three of us tonight went to this restaurant to have Chinese buffet and were told each person would be charged $15.95. After the dinner,the bill came showing that each person was being charged addional fee $3.25. So, it was 3x $3.25 more charged than we expected! Unfortunately, we did not pay attention to it when paying the fee and the cashier did not explain what it was while we paid 15 percent tip! I am not saying that we care much about the additional payment if that would make you richer as a pathetic, small businesses owner, but we do care about if we were treated in a honest manner. We did takeout. The chicken fried rice was great! We loved the inclusion of bean sprouts and there were some nice sized pieces of chicken. Unfortunately, the wonton soup, beef & broccoli and sweet & sour pork were just ok and we did not keep those leftovers. The soup didn't have many wontons and they were kind of hard, the beef was a weird pink color and didn't taste great, the sweet & sour sauce was a bit runny and the taste was off. The number of dishes in the buffet is very large, so there's lots of variety. The best thing about the food is that the vegetables are fresh and cooked well (broccoli still has a little crunch, for example). Beef in the broccoli dish, unfortunately, was very tough. My recommendation unfortunately would be to go elsewhere. Stopped in while on vacation and had a pretty rough experience. Multiple empty pans on the buffet and what was there was not fresh. When we asked if there would be some fresh food coming out we were assured there would be. 20min later 2 pans with not enough food for 3 people in them were brought out. With a family of 5 and $18 a plate it was a hard bill to swallow. read more

I imagine that all of the good reviews are perhaps friends of the family and don't want to offend the owners. We are Chinese food connoisseurs and we generally eat it 3 to 4 times per month. This is the worst Chinese food I have ever purchased in my life, I ordered Chow-Mein and I have never seen chow-mein served without noodles until now, tasted like a bag of frozen vegetables with soy sauce, I wouldn't even call it chow-mein, the sweet and sour soup was neither sweet or sour, the wontons were like a folded tortilla chip with a piece of meat the size of a knuckle tucked inside, we paid $36 and one experience is all it took, we won't be back, you couldn't pay me to eat their again. read more

Selection on the buffet was minimal. Quality was mediocre to be generous. Adult dinner buffet was $10.95 and kid buffet was $8.95. Overpriced by at least $2 given the selection and quality. A small dessert selection that was not very good either. We witnessed staff eating at the cash register as well. At least she appeared to like the food. Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in Spearfish. The food is always delicious and good quality, the meat has never had weird lumps or anything, and the rice and noodles always taste really fresh. Ive always loved the sesame chicken and broccoli beef here the best. In addition, the staff is always super friendly when we come in and they'll put our fresh food if you ask for a specific item. It's also a great location on Main Street, so you can watch the cars drive past and enjoy the view as you eat. read more

Jade Palace is a great spot in Spearfish to get your Chinese food fix. Great quality and a great variety of dishes. I love their green beans and the broccoli beef dishes. They have yummy egg rolls and cream cheese rangoons. The Chinese sugar donuts are also a must try for dessert. They do slow down the amount of food they put out later at night, but they will put out dishes when you arrive. The all you can eat buffet is great for lunch or dinner. read more

This is a small restaurant tucked away on the main street in Spearfish. It is owned and run by one family who does the cooking, cleaning, and attending to their customer's needs. Although small and with a limited buffet (about 30 or so items) the food is expertly cooked with the vegetables cooked to a crisp doneness and the meat to perfection. The kitchen is constantly delivering small portions to the buffet so all the offerings are fresh and hot. Because food is cooked in small portions it is never left standing to become a less than delicious fair. Highly recommend after eating there two different days at different times. We shall return, I'm sure. In talking to one of the owners I found that since they took the restaurant over they have been getting old customers back, and they come back again. Best cashew chicken I have ever had! We were staying in nearby Deadwood and couldn't do any more burgers, so called and got take out from here. It was fantastic! Everything we ordered was incredible. The staff were so cute too. When they learned I was taking it back to a hotel they not only included utensil rolls but paper plates for us. I had mentioned some of the food was for kids when I placed the order so they made us homemade sugared donuts and added a box for free. If we ever go through this area again I would eat here in a heartbeat. It was delicious and the service wonderful. read more

I think the food here is far better than Golden Dragon. The hot and sour soup is the best I've ever had. The Black Pepper Chicken is awesome. They have a nice variety on the buffet. It seems like Florance is always there to greet you with a big smile. The entire staff is so friendly. I usually order to go and I never have to check my bag to make sure it's all there. No idea why all the positive reviews. Way below par for chinese buffet. Tasted old and of freezer burn. If I wanted cold food I would have went to Dairy Queen and had an ice cream cone. For what they charge you would think they could afford to keep their food at least warm at the buffet. It is $12 for Monday night buffet, full price for my 10 year old which had a spoon of rice, little bit of noodles, and jello for dessert. My 11 year old had the same but had an egg roll as well. I asked one of the staff, extremely rude and scary american girl with black lipstick, if the price was right and she asked how old the kids were, I told her and she said oh that's the cut off. I said $12 for a spoon of rice and noodles? And her response was yes that's the way it is. Needless to say we wont be back, no one should go there with kids especially with staff that looks like you just walked into a S&M freak show. They should be ashamed for how they do business and a good visit from the health inspectors wouldn't hurt either. read more

Staying at a holtel and ordered delivery on a cold night (roads a little slick) said was going to take a half hour, had my food in 15. Everything was made fresh vegetables. Perfect hand made egg rolls. Cant say enough good things. The delivery man was very friendly and had the foresight to bring plates and silverware. Would order from here again anytime. read more

Disappointing!!! We had lunch here a couple weeks ago and thought that it was OK. We invited friends to join us and this time it was about as bad as it gets. There were few offerings on the buffet. Looking back at past reviews it looks like I eat lots of Chinese food. I feel completely comfortable telling you that this place was up in the top ten. Clean. Well priced. Fast service. And friendly.
