One of my favorite Chinese spots to go to. The food is always super hot and super delicious; I've never had a bad experience there. You cannot blame a shop for it's location. Sure, it's near a sketchy part of the beach area, but it is also right down the street from the police academy. Yeah creepy guys stand outside the barbershop next door, but that's not the shop owners concern. I am sure they make a lot of money there. They do deliver; I think. Not sure though. But the owner is very nice and remembers a lot of his customers by face. My boyfriend and I are HUGE fans of Chinese food, but this place takes the cake! I moved to Virginia Beach four months ago and we order take-out from Jade Garden II often! It's a small hole-in-the-wall type of place, but the food is amazing. Orange chicken and white rice combination platters are always enough for two to share, and they have other options, too, however we get our own. The combo platters also come with an egg roll for about $7. I don't think I have ever had such good quality orange chicken, and the chicken chow mein is also to die for. The employees are very kind, and the delivery man now knows us by name ;) Overall, you can't go wrong with this place. We haven't tried any other JG's, as we are satisfied with this one. After a long day of traveling, I came home and decided to order delivery since I had no groceries. I was a little hesitant because I wanted it to be healthy. Everything was delivered quick, was hot and tasted good. I ordered steamed dumplings, shrimp & veggies and the bourbon chicken. The shrimp with mixed vegetables is definitely my new favorite and you actually get a good amount of shrimp & mixed veggies and it won't break your diet!!! Checked out Yelp for the closest Chinese takeout place. Called the order in was told it would be about 10 minutes. It took me about that long to get there and sure enough my order was just being finished, pretty impressed with the timing. General tso chicken was good, not any bit of spicy to it at all tho (which I find is usually the case at most places). Husband said sweet n sour chicken was good but wasn't a fan of the sauce because it was a bit too watery. Crab Rangoons were a really great price for the amount you get. Husband said there were good and had more of a crab taste than our to go to Chinese spot before we moved. The speed and location were all convenient and would probably go again unless I find a place that is still close it better. read more

The staff is very rude and unprofessiona. i am a DoorDash driver. I picked up an order and as I'm going out the door the tea fell on the ground. I immediately went to the window to request another one from the gentleman that i got the order from. Another woman came from the back and proceeded to immediately yell and scold me and to say i could not get another one unless i paid for it. I explained to them which they already knew that this was not my order and they observed me leaving and seen it accidentally fall as I'm trying to maneuver the food and drink. The exchange of how she spoke to me in front of other customers in the lobby was quite embarrassing. They establish businesses in certain neighborhoods but treat us rudely. Ordered delivery to my hotel. It arrived quickly, by a friendly delivery guy. No plates, but forks and napkins were provided. Everything was hot and tasty. The crab rangoons were excellent, crispy outside with lots of hot, crabby flavored cheese. The teriyaki beef was tasty, not too saucy but a good flavor. This is not my usual Chinese food spot but I was limited on time and happened to be in the area. First off, the location is in a sketchy part of town. For example, there was a parked police car in from of the boost mobile store beside this place just for surveillance of the area. In the Food Lion a few doors down, there is always (been there 3 times) an armed security guard at the door. Inside looks like you standard Chinese takeout place. It was surprisingly busy; busier than I've ever seen either of my two favorite spots (Rainbow Garden and MeiZhen). They had a line of ppl waiting to order, ppl waiting at the tables for their food, and the phone was ringing pretty consistently. I ordered sesame chicken and crab Rangoon bc another Yelper said it was the best ever. I get home and tried the Rangoon first. This was a decent portion and size for the $2-$3 that it was. They were stuffed with a tasty filling but really soft. I like the smaller ones that are crunchier. The chicken had a slightly mushy texture. I felt inclined to inspect it a little. I cut open a few pieces and noticed that some of them were undercooked. That was it for me, had to toss it out. I only spent $11 but was still a little pissed to have wasted the money. I know they were slammed with orders but you can't sell customers undercooked chicken. Never again for me. read more

Worst service!! I lived in 3 different states. N always ordered same foods without any problems till today!! Shrimp wiz garlic sauce n chicken with garlic sauce. Nobody ever charged me dinner price when i bought those while lunch time. But this casher lady did. Very unkind rude lady. Then she explained that dinner combo has 5 shrimp n lunch has 4 shrimp. But mine didnt even has 5 shrimp anyways. Again i got those on lunch time.... . Dinner price n lunch price is almost double amount different for almost same portions. NO WAY! NEVER AGAIN! I ordered from Jade Garden frequently because they are just down the street and my mom likes their shrimp with broccoli, and my husband likes thier pancit. However they have been very inconsistent. Sometimes the container of pancit is full, sometimes it is only 3/4 of that. Once it smelled funky and later I got a stomach ache. The chicken teriyaki we got was also skimpy. It is not really chicken teriyaki at all, it is pieces of salty chicken thighs that are deep fried on the stick. The hot and sour soup is the worst I have ever had, and the egg drop has no flavor. And I don't remember the last time I got 10 shrimp as is supposed to happen in the shrimp and broccoli, but it's not usually a big enough deal to follow up on. After receiving a noticeably short amount of only 6 shrimp, I called to let them know. Not only were they not apologetic, they accuse me of lying! All that they rudely offered was to count my shrimp the next time. Fat chance of there being a next time. They definitely do not care about the customer. I have been in restaurant management for 20+ years and this is not how you handle your guests. They are going to lose a good regular customer over a handful of shrimp? I would have been fine had they just acknowledged the mistake, but they insisted it was impossible for them to make that mistake and hung up on me. Twice. I have never been treated so rudely. Years ago I had a friend break her tooth on a screw that she found in her food. It looked like it came off the handle of a wok. They refused to acknowledge that could have happened as well, and said to call their insurance company who ultimately denied paying for her dental bill. We boycotted for years afterwards but out of convenience caved in eventually. Time for another boycott, and there will be no caving in this time. read more
