Upfront and in fairness, we took the owner of this business (Donald T. Fay) to Schenectady City…read moresmall claims court and lost after we had hired him in October 2023 for a bathroom remodel. We took him to court on what we believed was a breach of contract, but according to NYS law Mr. Fay didn't write a legitimate contract so it didn't cover us. We learned what he provided, and what we signed, is considered a workmanship agreement. This type of agreement offers virtually no protection for the buyer unless the work is deemed unusable and unsafe. We selected specific tiles we wanted for our bathroom remodel project and Mr. Fay purchased tiles that were close to what we wanted but different brands, sizes, and quality without receiving our approval for the substitution. Mr. Fay lied in court and said that this was our agreement (to get close to what I wanted) despite what he wrote on the agreement we signed. He even provided the receipt of the purchased materials to the Judge which showed he didn't purchase what we asked for. Mr. Fay's workmanship was overall poor. The walls of the shower were out-of-plumb, the grout work shows mortar and tile separator tabs, he did not put in any framing to support a shower door, and the tile cuts he made are unclean. He scratched wood floors and dented walls. Pictures attached for examples of work quality. He tried to take advantage of us by buying cheaper tiles and pocketing the money. He was deceitful when we confronted him, so we fired him and would not let him do any further work. We've lost a significant amount of money in this process as we are having all of his work torn out and redone. Heed our warning and learn from our mistake, unless the contract meets the requirements of the New York State General Business Law you are not protected as a purchaser of services. It was a complete mistake hiring Mr. Fay.

He came to our home and actually put both samples on our floor so we could see the difference. It was evident that Tom and his son Nick LOVE what they do and that was another reason we went with Precision. He and his crew were here for 3 days and did a wonderful job! They showed up on the dot when they said that they would, worked efficiently, and minimized the disruption of our lives. They covered everything with plastic so there was very little dust from the sanding of the floors. They cleaned up after the sanding, wiping everything down and vacuuming. The floors came out better than we expected! We recommend Tom and his crew and Bona floor products!

Interesting...because it never sagged before this paint job. I bought top of the line Benjamin Moore paints. On a 6 panel door, only five panels were painted. I did most of the spackle and patch work myself to walls before they came, but I did expect them to check each wall before painting. They did not. the owner of the company is a very personable guy, but was nowhere in sight while his workers were here. Most supervisors will stop by a job to check and see if there are any concerns...especially when no one speaks English. The workers were very sweet, but we had communication difficulties. Expect to spend a lot of money too, as they are quite expensive...especially when you have to hire fixer-uppers afterwards.

The next day, when my sump pump failed, Todd returned and installed replacements. Todd listened to my concerns and repeatedly went out of his way to help me. He noticed things in the environment that needed a little fix here or there and he fixed them, not charging me extra. Todd took time to help me understand the issues in my basement so that I'm knowledgable about my home in the future. Todd charged a VERY fair price for his services and charged me nothing for repeated trips. I highly recommend All Dry Basement Solutions. Larry told me I'd get two new foundation walls; it would take two weeks & I would get updates daily. I got one update from Mike 1.0, he seemed nice. Work stalled a lot in the beginning. Seems like they only worked every other day when I was told by the salesmen "once we start a job were there until it ends, we don't bounce guys around" whatever, things happen. Two weeks in when the job was supposed to be complete, I go to check on the progress, and my basement is completely flooded with 4-5 inches of standing water. Somebody had shut the sump drainage hose in the basement door pinching in likely while racing out on Friday. I text Mike 1.0 who informs me he hasn't even worked for the company in over a week. Lovely update! Mike 2.0 the new foremen was nice. Sucked he had to apologize profusely for the way the company's leadership is. I had requested several times for Todd to call me or meet with me to go over the issues. Still haven't heard from him. Four weeks later now the job is "done" & not at all what I was expecting. Poured walls halfway, House isn't even sitting on new "foundation" I was told I was getting. Was charged almost 2 grand for "basement clean out and debris removal" when the debris was tossed into my cistern and the basement is in the same state as it was before. Not sure what they cleaned out or removed (besides the already functional & existing sump pump and corresponding extension cords) Charged almost 5 grand for a sump pump that's duck taped together and leaking at the discharge directly back into the foundation. All in all, would not recommend. Office lady is kind whenever she answers. Company has a serious communication issue. Your foremen's need a raise for having to answer for the company's shortcomings, because the owner surely does not.

The first is simple and contemporary, the second involved an intricate pattern of colorful tiles forming wall-size images. Sara worked with us on the design, asking many questions to understand our aesthetic aims and practical needs, and offering a variety of options for us to choose among to achieve our goals. She also provided a variety of very effective ideas and solutions, considering the physical constraints of the (relatively small) spaces, to ensure the best use of spaces and to create a very open feel in both bathrooms, all in a cost-effective manner. The actual construction was done in an extremely professional manner by workers who were not only highly-skilled but also friendly, considerate of our needs, and responsive to our questions and concerns as the projects progressed. Particularly impressive, amazing really, was the tile work performed by Cliff. The colorful bathroom involved laying more than 1,000 tiles, and cutting more than 100 tiles to create the intricate design. It also involved the fitting of the many tiles to very close tolerance specifications. Cliff was both masterful and highly conscientious in completing this tile work. The result is stunning. In addition, along the way in both bathrooms, specific questions arose about alternative approaches to implementing features of the design. Cliff identified and raised these questions for us to think about, and he offered aesthetically pleasing solutions. In short, Cliff's work was thoughtful, technically masterful, and informed by his strong sense of aesthetic beauty. We are most impressed by Kitchen and Bath World for their general approach, their implementation, and the final product in renovating both bathrooms. Kitchen and Bath World has our highest recommendation.
