Excellent breakfast in the middle of nowhere. If we hadn't seen the episode of The Day Tripper that featured Jacoby's we would have never known about it. I had the ham and cheese omelette, hash browns and toast. Salsa is fresh and made in house. The Mr has The Cowboy": Three eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. Next time we're traveling through we will stop for lunch and try a burger or steak. They raise their own beef.

Been driving past here for decades and finally made a point to stop in! Onion rings were the highlight of our lunch, a was everything else really. Stuffed hamburger steak was delish!!

Had an incredible lunch today and had a great visit with owner of this family-owned and operated restaurant. All had cheese burgers with fried okra, onions and hand cut fries. Beef is incredible quality. The Jacoby family raises cattle, and the Feed that goes into the beef. Owner is vertically integrated and meticulously monitors entire process of meat from calf to table. And it shows. And all is prepared and served by people who are truly enjoying themselves. What a joyful experience. PS- don't miss out on the feed store behind the restaurant. Had three different types of baby chicks for your kids entertainment!

Best burger and strawberry cake in TX. We drove all the way from Austin to enjoy this family cafe. The music was worth the drive alone.

The parking spaces in front are limited, but there is street parking. I was by myself and took a seat over to the side. There is one big dining room with tables along the walls and in the center. The kitchen and restrooms are in the back. This is a family style restaurant, with just a few decorations like a mural of a Mexican scene on one wall. Everything appeared clean as far as I could see. My server was pleasant and brought me some chips and salsa. Chips are the typical thin American style. The salsa is medium spicy, tomatoey and zipped in a blender. I ordered the "guiso plate" and was told I could choose between hand made flour or store-bought corn tortillas. I prefer corn, so I was promptly served the carne guisada along with corn tortillas (which were quite good). The carne guisada had more of an American gravy texture and taste than most carne guisada I have had in Mexico. But I slathered the salsa over it and that pepped it up. This is not a trendy place nor super fancy, but you can find good food and pleasant service. As I left I requested some iced tea to go, and they were happy to oblige, and that was nice as I had a long drive ahead of me. I would go back when I have occasion to go through Ballinger.

It was absolutely delicious, very rare for a restaurant to have all the right qualities perfectly in place, you can tell they love what they do, the wife absolutely loved the The Harris, deli sliced turkey, Vermont cheddar, mayo, spicy mustard, drizzled with raspberry chipotle sauce with spinach on a brioche bread, this will be a place to head to 1:30 hours away but definitely worth the trip. Thank you Joe and Marie Smith for the experience of a delicious lunch.

The sandwhich was honestly just okay. I enjoyed the fillings of the sandwich (especially the grilled onions and meats) but the bread wasn't toasted well so it was just a soft sandwich instead of that initial crisp/crunchy bite that I was looking forward to. Also, the Gouda cheese wasn't really melted either so I was a little disappointed by that. I enjoyed the fruit that came on the side but overall, I can't say this was worth $14. Aside from that, the interior of this place was nice and I love how the restaurant is connected with Urban Roots! The service was fast and friendly and I hope to come back and give this place another chance!
