Seasoning was too much on the mushrooms and chicken fried steak. None on the mashed potatoes or green beans. Instant mashed potatoes and the gravy was watery. Burger was blah. French fries were hand cut that was a plus. $50 for 2 people FOR LUNCH. I do not recommend this place. Thank goodness we don't live there. Season All is the seasoning I bet. We read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Its Friday so we had to have the catfish. We also tried the onion rings. They were served hot and crispy. Yum!! Food was fresh, we got burgers and they were excellent. The place was packed, so we did have a wait. But it was worth it.

This place was pretty tiny but completely full. It has your typical small town feel. We stopped in for lunch and I was not disappointed. They had fried catfish samples and it was delicious! However I was in the mood for chicken, but next time we're in town I will definitely be getting. The woman working the counter was super friendly. I got the Chicken strip basket and my fiance got a stuffed burger with avocado and bacon and each with curly fries (upcharge for those) We were both more than satisfied. His only complaint is that he said that the bacon tasted like turkey bacon, but other than that he enjoyed his burger. Also I don't even like pie but OH MY GOSH they were sitting on the counter and they looked awesome!!! Was tempted to try but I was so stuffed by the time we left. Man, I love small town restaurants. It's as if they still care about you. Got here about 8 pm and place was half full. We ordered and found a table so we could look at all the stuff on the walls. You know how small towns are. If it's interesting, hang it on the wall! My jalapeño cheeseburger was fantastic. So fresh. Glenda's catfish was off the hook! (Get it? HA!) A nice little restaurant on the main road through Brady. They offer all-you-can-eat catfish for about 20 bucks. Everything is well-seasoned and the main dishes are cooked to order. I enjoyed the beans and fries. The beans have a couple of kinds of meat in them which adds flavor. The corn is most likely just a cheap canned corn. Not that great. The chicken fried steak was cooked very well. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The catfish had a nice amount of seasoning but I wish they were whole filets instead of little strips. For the price of the dishes, customers definitely need more quantity on the sides. You get about a mouthful of each side unless you order the fries or corn. I actually used the beans as a dip for my catfishstove there wasn't very much. There was only one guy running the whole place and he took care of everything efficiently. I will most likely return when paying through Brady again. read more

To make that statement in a small place like Brady is one thing, but it's mighty bold to say the best in the whole state. Well, they definitely have the food to back it! The chicken fried steak was legit! Dare your granny to make one better. The only reason this joint fell short was because they didn't advertise the best pecan pie in the state too!! That little slab of pie will send you to the moon and back for seconds! If you aren't into small hometown atmosphere skip it. (Your loss!!) If you're passing through, stop and give this place a try. No sanitation protocols here at all. The cashier handles cash money and food with his bare hands. I watched him several times. You also scoop your own ice with the scoop who knows how long it's been there inside the ice. Everything good about this type of cuisine with none of the usual down sides! We turned around to stop here on a Monday night after passing the full parking lot and fun lights. I'm so glad we did! I'm a native Texan but I've been in the big California city for awhile and would easily call myself a well traveled foodie. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp and even the little things you don't expect much from like the corn were really great. The family that runs it are very attentive and the decor is super traditional Texas. The deer heads are dressed up funny and there's rockers on the porch. The cashier didn't seem to be in a good mood and it was obvious. No smile, no conversation, the look of impatience as my SO made his complicated order... we hoped maybe the food would be good. I opted for a salmon burger and it looked sooooo bland. They didn't even bother to put lettuce or tomato on it. I had to steal some lettuce from my SO's salad just so I didn't have to bother with the cashier again. Still the burger was just... okay. Nothing special about it and definitely not memorable.
