We went to Silverspur in Menard on a Saturday evening around 8 PM. Right when we arrived, the place felt a little chaotic--staff seemed overwhelmed, especially the host. While everyone was friendly, the overall customer service could definitely use some improvement, including our waitress. She was very nice and polite, but clearly overwhelmed. She didn't tell us about the crawfish boil special until the owner happened to come by and mentioned it. She also forgot to bring us refills for our teas unless we specifically asked. And when we did get refills, there was no ice. It felt like the team could benefit from more training to create a smoother experience. That said, the atmosphere was really nice. They have an outdoor patio with chairs where a live singer was performing. It was a great touch for the Memorial Day weekend! Now for the highlight: the food. I ordered the ribeye meal, which comes with two sides and a roll--all for just $39. It was an amazing deal. My ribeye was cooked perfectly to medium and was honestly one of the most delicious steaks I've ever had. I heard the owner runs a ranch, and you can really taste the quality of the meat. For my sides, I had the broccolini and truffle mac & cheese--both were flavorful and a perfect complement to the steak. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. One minor hiccup: we were charged for each tea refill, which was a surprise, but it was thankfully corrected at the end. All in all, Silverspur has fantastic food, a great outdoor vibe, and friendly staff. With a bit of polish on the service, it could easily become a go-to spot.

13 minutes ago New Hidden gem! If you're in the area, check it out! This is the nicest place in town! Excellent service, food, and decor. There is a large outdoor patio with tables and an additional seating area in front of an outdoor fireplace. They also have a few air bnb's on property, and a boutique! The savory bacon jam burger is excellent. The patty melt is served on perfectly seasoned Texas Toast. Generous portions. They also have sliced ribeye sandwich, chicken fried steak, filet, queso, quail, and more!

Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant & Cantina - Omelette was decent. Avocado slices were super thin but very fresh. No butter or jelly with the bread.

I'll start with $3.00 beer on tap.....Dos Equis and Modelo and some American beer (why would you…read moredrink an American beer in a Mexican restaurant?) My wife was only hungry for one taco, which turned out to be plenty for her....because she kept asking for bites of my Carnitas plate!!! This Carnitas was my style because there were crunchy pieces along with the soft chewy pieces. A nice little green salad and guacamole, rice and beans and !!! We were a bit after the noon crowd, so very quiet, but it's a pretty big place with a full bar so I expect it gets rowdier at night. Really great to find a great place when on the road in a place you've never been.....

    1. The breakfast menu is misleading about which plates include beans and potatoes. The menu clearly…read moresays items with ** do not include them, but many items where they don't include them are not marked. 2. They billed me $13 for an $11 omelette (menu price) 3. They billed me $6 for tacos that should've cost $5 (according to menu price) 4. Wife ordered 1 x $2.50 breakfast taco, they brought 2 and charged $3.00 for each one. 5. Waitress Ruth told me it was $2.00 to add potatoes to the plate. Charged me $3.50 otherwise she was polite. The decent quality of the food is overshadowed by very bad billing practices. They should just be upfront about costs and stick to what they print on the menu.
