They can either fill it with refrigerant for $800 - $1000 with leak stop and maybe stop the leak for a year or look for the leak at $299/hr and that could take about 2 hours. If they find a leak on a part that is covered then that part is free but the refrigerant and labor is still on me for about another $1000. I paid the $150 service fee for them to tell me that. I called Arlinghaus Heating and Cooling. He said he can do a leak test with dye for $213 after he spent about 30 minutes looking at everything. He also took out his electronic leak detector and spray bottle and checked the most common areas for leaks. He then put in the dye and will be back at no additional cost to look for the colored dye and leaks. Recker and Boerger did not want to locate why the low refrigerant and basically wanted to put a high cost band aid on it without knowing exactly where the band aid goes and maybe do it again every year if it leaks out until the warranty runs out then probably tell me I need a whole new system. Arlinghaus was much better and actually wanted to find the issue and solve it at a much, much lower cost to me.
