I hope that in reading this review in its entirety that you're able to make a much more informed decision about Jacob Tyler. First, you should know that the Master Services Agreement (MSA) Jacob Tyler provides its clients has a clause that if you work with them you're not allowed to write anything negative about them on public domains. So, essentially, to be a client of theirs, you agree to be sued if you write anything negative (even if it's true) online. So, please be wary of the reviews you read because many people might have negative things to say but can't write them out of fear of being sued by Jacob Tyler. I was originally attracted to the firm for its four 5-star ratings, but I quickly learned the truth. Second, you should know that the only reason I'm able to share honestly what happened with Jacob Tyler is that we do not have a signed MSA. In fact, part of the reason I decided not to move forward with Jacob Tyler is because the CEO failed to deliver the MSA at our kick-off meeting, even though it was promised. I do not feel comfortable working with a firm when we do not have a signed document that outlines the terms of our working relationship. What's even more terrible about Jacob Tyler is that I emailed the CEO the evening after our "kick off" meeting and specifically outlined the behaviors in the meeting that I found unprofessional. Instead of taking responsibility, the CEO blamed it on timing and said the errors were because we met on a Tuesday instead of a Thursday (and by they way they suggested Tuesday and I was fine with either). When I told the CEO that I lost trust in his company and wanted to interview other firms before making a final decision with Jacob Tyler, the CEO charged my credit card for a $7500 deposit and started working on the project. Yes, you're reading that correctly!!! I specifically said I was uncomfortable and felt disrespected and the CEO completely disregarded what I said, charged my credit card, and instructed his team to start working. I run a tutoring business, and let me just say that I run my business completely differently. If I ever interviewed a family on a Tuesday afternoon with the understanding I'd be helping the child...then if the parent or child emailed me that night to say they were no longer comfortable with me and wanted to interview other tutors, the LAST THING I WOULD DO is charge their credit card and start working. It's beyond comprehension. Now, even worse, he's holding my money hostage and claiming to my credit card company that he has a right to the money because we met "no less than six times" before the kick-off meeting, which is a complete lie and we only met two times. I've offered to pay for any work done during that time when they would've believed I was on board, but they refuse to send me those hours and are instead holding my deposit hostage. It seriously feels like the CEO is trying to take advantage of me as a young woman starting a business. It's beyond comprehension how he has behaved. Clearly I cannot comment on the quality of their work because they never did any work for me, but if you care about being respected and working with people who listen to you, then avoid Jacob Tyler!!!!!! I would absolutely NEVER recommend this firm to anyone. Please look elsewhere for your branding and marketing needs. Jacob Tyler will just bring you a giant headache. read more

I attended a kick-off meeting with the CEO of Jacob Tyler and his team. From the beginning of the meeting, I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism of the firm. The CEO arrived 15 minutes late in gym clothes and then made a comment that the website I'm hiring him to make will be better because he's dressed like he is instead of dressed like me (I was in a suit). I truly didn't care that he was in gym clothes but I found his comment unnecessary. I was more concerned that he was late to an initial kick-off meeting than I was about his casual attire. It didn't set a good impression. Then, my impression only got worse because the CEO, who's supposed to be engaged and excited about the project, was on his cell phone during the meeting and left the meeting early. He also failed to pass on documents to his team prior to the meeting, so we ended up wasting time at the beginning that could've been avoided had he been on top of it. Two people at the firm - the creative director and project director - were very engaged and enthusiastic about the project. But the CEO came off as arrogant and incredibly unprofessional. He chimed in a few times during the meeting but it was obvious from the lack of substance of his commentary that he wasn't even paying attention to the conversation. After the meeting, the creative director and project manager - who again were very sweet - apologized for the behavior of the CEO. The creative director, who was definitely the most engaged and creative of the team, resigned from the firm a few weeks later. Needless to say, I lost faith in Jacob Tyler and did not feel comfortable investing thousands of dollars in a company led by someone who would treat young entrepreneurs the way he did. He announced that if our investors had been in the meeting that he would've behaved better because he "knows how to behave with investors." But, to be honest, I think everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless if he or she is the person working so hard to start the business or the person funding the startup. I should've been treated the same way regardless if my investors were with me. My experience should be incredibly alarming to anyone considering Jacob Tyler. Truly, look elsewhere for your business unless you like having a CEO treat you like you're not important because you're not the one writing checks. read more

These guys (Terry Farruk and Joe Costa) are as bad as they get, I would recommend removing your name from Fanable if you want to keep your reputation in tact! You should look at the sites they are actually working on, they are awful (I don't think they know what graphic design is) and at a ridiculous price! read more
