We reached out to Storm Brain and scheduled an initial consultation zoom meeting. Storm Brain staff no showed for our first meeting. We rescheduled and Storm Brain staff again did not show for our scheduled meeting until we reached out to them to remind them it had started. This was a disappointing way to be introduced to their company and we hope they can improve. read more

I have not experienced the quality of the work at Storm Brain, so I cannot speak intelligently in that regard. What I can say is, they wasted a week of my time waiting to hear back from them only to hear that they are too busy for the remainder of 2019 to take on any projects. My job was extremely simple. Just 3 plugins for a Wordpress site. I just paid $5 on Fiverr to have 1 of the plugins added and tomorrow I will pay $50 on Fiverr to have the 2 other added PLUS my sites backed up, transferred to a new host, migrated to Cpanel and an SSL certificate fully implemented...all guaranteed to be completed within 24 hours by a verified, certified tech with a decade of experience and hundreds of 5 star reviews. But it took Storm Brain a week to tell me they are too busy to add 3 plugins (without site migration etc) for the rest of the year?? This review isn't about a competitive company...Fiverr has people you must find, vet and contract, so nothing like Storm Brain marketing etc. It's about time management and KNOWING your project schedule EVERY DAY like a company should, so you're not wasting people's time. As a small business owner, a week, matters. Especially when you should have known the day I called that your project calendar is full for the rest of the year. Thanks for wasting my time. read more

I write and direct online explainer and promotional videos, and thus have exacting standards for the content and design of all of my marketing materials. On both my website and in traditional print, I need my brand to walk an impossible line between inventive, unique, persuasive and elegant. Basically, it needs to "pop" in a world of incredibly derivative crap, I cycled through several design companies -- and had pretty much universally crappy experiences with them all. They were just imitative, not creative, and made me look more like a Midwestern law firm, than a California production house. Then I found Storm Brain Designs. And everything changed. Storm Brain worked closely with me, put up with my many creative quirks, and ultimately delivered a stunning rebrand and redesign of my entire promotional presence. It was fresh, inventive, and totally me. And amazingly, they did it AHEAD of schedule. I could not be more impressed with the company's vision, grasp of the complexities of my industry, and professionalism. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

I needed a new website developer for a small e-commerce website that I have been working on, so I got on Yelp to find someone local. Storm Brain Designs was just the website development and web design team that my company needed. They created a beautiful logo and website for me that was within our budget and a timeline that coincided with our other marketing efforts, not to mention how our SEO was affected so positively. We come up for all for our top keywords in search engines, so I've gotta say they optimized the site perfectly! Even after the website was finished they were patient and responsive as I learned to use Wordpress and integrate it into our daily operations. If you are looking for a true expert at ecommerce website design, Storm Brain Designs is the only way to go. read more

As Director of Operations, I've been interviewing multiple website designers. Our current website is probably about 10 years old and need of an overhaul. After interviewing a plethora of web designers, the underlying theme was that there are way too many companies that either do not have the technical expertise or do not have an artistic vision that I believe is required in today's market. My experience is that most designers are usually more technical and rely more on client direction for designs. While I do want input into the design of my website, I also want someone that can help guide me to what would be most beneficial for my brand. I almost gave up my search until I ran into Blake Nolan at Storm Brain Designs. After a brief conversation with him, I realized that he was the perfect fit for our small business. Blake was very knowledge about the technical side and provided many options that allows us to customize and maintain our site if we wanted. In addition, he was also able to provide valuable insight on the design of the website and how to attract more clients. I would highly recommend Storm Brain Designs to not only small businesses but anyone looking to revamp their website. read more

If you are looking to get reasonable pricing and great results for your web design, you need to contact Storm Brain. I have worked with multiple web design companies in the past for various websites, and none have provided the service that Blake and his team provided. Blake will help guide you to build a site that fits the brand of your business. Your website should be the main hub for all your marketing efforts, so there is no reason to not have the best of the best. I have also seen design work done by Storm Brain for events that I have attended that I had no part in organizing. The latest large event was for the annual convention for NAHREP. The keynote speaker was Bill Clinton (yes- it was awesome!) and Storm Brain did almost all of the marketing pieces for the event. They were sharp, clean, and innovative. I highly recommend Blake and his crew to anyone looking to build their business! read more

I have used Storm Brain Designs to create two separate web sites and I will never look elsewhere! During the design process, Blake helped us define our "look," offered super suggestions of how to maximize exposure, and made the entire process utterly painless (generally unheard of when dealing with designers). Initial design creation was super speedy and any revisions are always made seamlessly and seemingly instantaneously. Blake has always been available to help navigate the ins and outs of updating our blog, as well, without overcomplicating the process. Look, I don't need to know why things work, I just need them to work. And that's what Storm Brain Designs will do for your company or personal site. Storm Brain Designs is creative, contemporary, flexible, and just all-round great people. You'll have fun working with this team and your bottom line will thank you! read more

Storm Brain Designs helped us develop and organize our content into an intuitive format that could easily be delivered to those that needed to use it, internal and external users. The ecommerce portion of the website was modern and easy to use, compared to our old order entry dialog. The website design was great, but they also have expertise on how to market your website so it will get much more traffic than before. The online marketing knowledge was invaluable. It can be difficult to under stand exactly how search engine optimization works, and that's where their industry knowledge really helped. Thanks again and bravo! read more

I've hired Stormbrain a couple of times now and they are my go-to shop whenever someone needs a recommendation for design or web development. The first time I used them, it was for the complete company brand identity package: logo, stationary (business cards, letterhead, etc), presentation templates, site design, etc. They handled my notes or comments without a fuss and turned over a well-organized package of assets which included everything I'd wanted and some stuff I didn't know how I'd ever use but was pleased to find it was there when the need came up. This included horizontal and vertical orientations of the logo and full-color and monochromatic versions. When our company grew, we had a bigger budget and a better sense of what we needed for our website, so we called Stormbrain again to re-do the whole site (which was pretty awesome the first time, btw). This time we rolled out a complete e-commerce solution which included mobile-optimized pages and robust SEO. At least I *think* it's robust SEO; I don't really know enough about how SEO works to explain it, but I DO know that the main source of traffic to our site now comes from the exact search phrases we came up with together. Long story short, you won't regret hiring these guys. I've sent a number of referrals to Stormbrain and everyone has come away pleased (I see a few of their reviews here, in fact). read more

Storm Brain does great work. I worked with them to update the web presence for an artist I'm managing. The new web design was just what we had envisioned. Also, as a result, it seems our SEO was well improved, as we saw an uptick in traffic. Blake is great. He's patient, easy to work with and offered excellent suggestions, which helped us achieve what we were trying to accomplish. Highly recommend. read more

We found these guys on Yelp and after reading the reviews we decided to use them for our website re-branding and also for a responsive design project. We spoke with them regarding our vision and what we needed. We gave them the design work we wanted and pointed them in direction we wanted to go. They were very good at creating a responsive site just like we requested. I enjoyed the time we spent together working with these guys who were really able to portray our ideas into a functional website for our biz. I know our ideas were a little out of the ordinary but they were able to get the job done without problems. They took a lot of time and work into our site and we are happy with the end project. They have provided us with great direction in regards to our online marketing. They have really helped in numerous areas. read more

I am happy to recommend Storm Brain Designs for their SEO services, online marketing, and per their name good design. The owner Blake Nolan is a natural entrepeneur and when it comes to working with small business or large there is a sense that he "get's it." Not just the design as a deliveable, which I was impressed with (this was the reason I was willing to give them a shot), but at the end of the day paying for online marketing is a necessary evil and nobody wants to just throw money away. Blake is very much both a practical and big picture thinker and cares about end results. I liked their price, appreciate their customer service, and the creativity and energy brought to the table. In summary, Storm Brain is great to work with. read more

I worked with Blake from Storm Brain Designs to streamline a web-based business idea. He consulted with me on every aspect of this potential start-up from graphic design, look-and-feel, audience targeting, search engine optimization, and user interface. When starting my e-commerce business, I contacted a number of web design firms before being referred to Storm Brain. Based on their portfolio alone I could tell I was dealing with a pro; but after speaking with the owner, Blake, I was left with no doubt. Using my initial design, Storm Brain took my original idea to the next level and turned it into a brand I could truly be proud of. All the work was incredibly clean, and professional, and after almost 2 years in business I know Storm Brain's work has given me the legitimacy I would have never had doing this on my own. Throughout the process, Blake always took the time to listen to my needs, provided a detailed proposal that he stuck to, and once we agreed to use their services, he kept me informed of progress the entire time. My clients constantly tell me how great my website looks and how easy it is to use, and I couldn't be happier with the work Storm Brain Designs did for my business. Without any hesitation, I would HIGHLY recommend their services to anyone looking for a truly professional, engaging web presence. read more

One word to describe Storm Brain Designs: WOW. I came to work with SBD on a referral from a friend who had some web development work done by these guys. I tend to be cautious not to set expectations based on someone else's experience, especially when someone has an over the top good one. Nevertheless I chose SBD to design my logo and redesign my outdated web site. My redesigned website is creative but still very functional and does not overshadow my products or take away anything from the service that I provide. Customers that we have had for years made comments about how beautiful our new logo and web site looked. My project with SBD completely revamped my business. If your website needs to be brought up to date, trust the experts and give Storm Brain a call. You won't be disappointed, they are the best. read more

We hired Storm Brain Designs to help us rebuild one of our websites, and we couldn't be more impressed with the result. After looking at several web development companies in the San Diego area, we decided to use Storm Brain Designs based on the excellent reviews/referrals as well as how smooth the initial discussion process went with Blake and the team. Storm Brain offered a competitive price and a proposal that had the everything we were hoping to accomplish with the new site. During the building process, Blake & team were quick to respond to all emails, and offered great guidance and support with any questions or concerns we had. I was able to see several test designs of the site along the way, and it was wonderful to be included in the project (as well as have my opinions heard) rather than be left in the dark during the building process. Storm Brain made sure that they took our company's initial vision- and executed it in such a way that it began to shape in to something better than we even imagined. The end product was a professional, user-friendly, and beautiful website - and it was a pleasure building a relationship with Blake and team. I was very impressed with Storm Brain Designs and would absolutely recommend them for your next website project. read more

Storm Brain Designs was the first San Diego web design company I contacted when shopping for a local company to redesign my web site. They delivered a competitive proposal within my budget and so began the development of the website. About a week into the project I got my first glimpse of the revamped design and could not believe my eyes!! I had an idea in my head about what I thought my website would look like but what was delivered was above and beyond my expectations. The best way to describe the website redesign was it appeared very corporate and polished, but updated and progressive. Now my web site is something that I am proud to tell my customers and friends about and believe that it is finally an accurate representation of my business.Thank you from the bottom on my heart! read more

My company retained StormBrain to help maintain a very ornery WordPress site that i was managing. They did a great job with my husbands' new site for his business; everything looks super clean, and it's a website that will last years vs. one that will end up looking outdated 18 months from now. The responsiveness of the site and the way that it flows looks awesome, and it's truly a great first impression for anyone coming to learn more about the business. Definitely recommend working with Leah + Blake! read more

I heard back from Leah and Blake about this. They apologized sincerely and explained the cause of this lapse. They had a genuine personal emergency they needed to attend to, and hence missed my in-take. Their responsiveness since then has been extremely good. After talking to them, I now believe that the initial lack of responsiveness was an outlier and not a true reflection of the way they conduct their business. read more

The designer(s) at Storm Brain have once again exceeded my expectations. I've thrown seemingly impossible demands at them several times over the past 10 months and they've delivered better than anyone I've worked with to date. It all started with a little ecommerce/SEO project last year, then a complete redesign for my brand. These guys are true pros and their style is ahead of the game. I'd also like to point out that they are easy to reach and talk to and they listen. That's important for a type A perfectionist nut like myself. Highly recommended. read more
