Sausage and Two Breakfast

Jacob Lake Inn was a wonderful place to stay while touring the Grand Canyon! The lodging was very cozy and cabin like. The food and bakery was delicious. All the staff was friendly and accommodating too! It's only an hour drive from North Rim. When I booked my night where, I accidentally booked the wrong night. I called and they were able to accommodate the change! The cabin we stayed at had 2 queen beds and 1 full size beds which was perfect for our family of 5. At night, there's no light pollution so I recommend going out and looking at the stars above. We grabbed breakfast here before we hiked the Grand Canyon. The breakfast was very filling and delicious! It's very diner style. Don't sleep on the Kaibab Style pancakes that have cereal and craisin mixed in. It was delicious! The pancakes were also very buttery and my favorite to eat. There's also a bakery and we grabbed cookies for our road trip. I highly recommend! There's shops within the diner area that sell Grand Canyon merch and Native American pieces. We purchased some items from there as well to bring back as souvenirs. I'd book a stay at Jacob Lake Inn when I visit the Grand Canyon again!

We've stopped at Jacob Lake Inn for lunch and gifts a few times over the years as the price, quality and selection was always great; however, this time we had our 3 senior chihuahuas in tow and decided to try a 2 night stay. The Inn has pet friendly rooms available for an additional fee of $45 for motel and $35 for cabins (pets aren't permitted in the newer hotel building). We had originally booked a cabin thinking that they would offer more privacy, but looking at the amenities, we upgraded to the motel for the a/c (it's been a hot summer!). Having read quite a few mixed reviews for both the motel and the cabins, we approached the experience with zero expectations prior to arrival. Wow were we impressed! The room was bright, clean and well furnished. The walls were solid between the rooms and the water pressure gave no complaints. Due to fire restrictions, there are no coffee makers, mini fridges, etc. permitted but the hotel provides free ice. We would stay here again in a heartbeat next time we come to the north rim.

Crummy mushroom Swiss burger

We drove to the north end of the grand canyon, and on the way back stopped at the Jacob Lake Inn restaurant for some dinner. First off the prices are outrageous, I payed 16.99 for a "sandwich". I got the "Grand Bull Sandwich" it was the driest sandwich of all time. The meat was extremely overcooked, the bread was dry and falling apart, and worst of all the sandwich was dry their wasn't sauce. For $16.99 i would rather wipe my butt with it.

We planned on 3 nights, but cancelled the 3rd night because the North rim of the Grand Canyon was not yet open.

My husband and I were traveling through and did a search for local restaurants on Yelp. We were…read morelooking for something local and we found this gem! Jacob (I think that was his name??) was our server, he was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu and area. Another gal that worked there was very nice and chatty, it was fun talking to locals about the place/area. My husband and I ordered the mushroom and swiss burger with fries to split. They brought it out on two plates, already split-I loved that! The fries were hot and delish. The burger was as one of the best I have had, cooked to perfection and super juicy. It's a fun stop, shopping, great food and are known for their giant cookies so try to work that in as well.

04/16/26 Delicious…read morecookies and friendly employees. We were greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. I was disappointed there were not more flavor choices, however the four that were available were delicious. Our favorite was the Chocolate Parfait. It looked liked a scoop of ice cream which intrigued me even more. We went right outside and ate two of the cookies right away. We broke the Chocolate Parfait in half and the chocolate was ooey gooey perfection. My husband loved it so much, we went back inside and bought the last one. We were so full after just two cookies that we took the others with us. We saved the Chocolate Parfait for the next day and unfortunately it wasn't the same as eating it right at the time of purchase. The other three cookies I think would taste just as good a day or less later, but don't wait to eat the Chocolate Parfait cookie. The magic in this cookie is immediate consumption.

Best Friends Roadhouse - The dog bed was a nice touch my dogs weren't a fan of the dog beds, probably too many smells.

This review is based on my two-night stay from 10/17/25 - 10/19/25…read more I had heard great things about this place so was really looking forward to checking it out. I was also hoping to "rent" a pet from the Animal Sanctuary for the duration of our visit, but alas, checked in too late for that. I'd advise anyone who wants to "rent" a pet to call in advance to understand the process and time cut-off. I loved the room. It was super cute and well-appointed for guests with pets. There were two bowls waiting near the front door, and two adorable sleeping areas - one in a cut-out in the wall, and another a pull-out trundle-style bed. The mercantile/ store was stocked with cute apparel for pet-lovers as well as items for pets. Breakfast was also served in the store in the morning - with lots of interesting and yummy options - like vegan egg bites and chia seed pudding. 10/10 recommend this place!!

The Best Place For Travelers With Or Without Pets…read more.... For our final 5 nights across the Southwest US, we stayed at the Best Friends Roadhouse. The BF Animal Sanctuary was on our schedule (at least 2 of the 4 days) and both reviews and their website looked great. Pros: - Location: Convenient, especially is you're visiting the Sanctuary. On the main road in the north part of Kanab. - Exterior: A newish looking hotel with nice views to the north and west. - Room: Excellent. Our king suite was spacious. One VERY large room included a big bedroom, a good sized kitchen and a spacious bathroom/shower/vanity. It also had plenty of space for storage and large closets. All done with contemporary Scandinavian furniture which minimizes clutter and convenient controls for lighting, ventilation and automatic shades. - Employees: Helpful. People at the reception desk and in the breakfast area/"Mercantile Shop" were all very friendly. - Breakfast: Vegan and very good. Included with the room. While it wasn't a buffet, you could order as much as you'd like. Much of it was homemade and I especially liked the "Overnight Oats". Unusual Pros: - Cats and dogs are encouraged to stay with accommodations in the room and across the property - "Barn Door" to create privacy between the bedroom and bathroom - Free laundry - Free iPad to use while in the room - Nicely equipped kitchen - Plentiful towels - Choice of full daily housekeeping, partial or none - Attractive high desert landscaping - If you'd like merchandise from Best Friends, the Mercantile Shop had everything Cons: - Bath towels for our first day were luxurious. The next 4 days were like a Holiday Inn. - Toilet paper was 1...maybe 2 ply and quite scratchy - Tissues were a bit rough - Parking was tight, especially on weekends and after 7 PM There are many places to stay in Kanab since it's a busy stop for Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, but the Roadhouse would be our only choice.
