The selection here is very unique, full of mostly vintage and estate pieces... definitely a breath of fresh air after visiting a few other jewelers in the area (one guy literally handed me a catalog). The owner (Steven?) was extremely helpful, patient, knowledgable, and honest - he was only interested in selling me the best ring for me, not simply the most expensive piece. I went to buy a special Christmas/birthday gift for my best friend and upon meeting Eddy Aliyari…read morefrom Kia Jewelers, Inc., he was attentive, communicated well and actually dedicated all of his time to make sure all my inquiries regarding pieces that I asked him to show me from behind the glass, was answered in lamen terms where I would understand where he was coming from. Since I do not work in the diamond industry, I appreciate when a seller explains the metal and the piece's history of why it has the value attached to that item. On my first visit after spending about an hour with Eddy, I didn't feel comfortable purchasing the diamond pendant I was looking at, so I left. My first encounter was during the Christmas holiday. I returned today, after the holidays were over and I was so relieved to see that Eddy Aliyari was at his work station sitting quietly behind the counter doing some jewelry repairs. I greeted him pleasantly and he looked up and was so cordial and kind to me that I knew I had to buy something from him this time. After about half hour in and looking at the initial piece that I saw back in December during the Christmas week, I decided on a different piece which was a 14K white gold necklace with a small round diamond embedded in white gold pendant to go with the white gold chain. Eddy was so patient with me as I asked him to shine it up and wipe the white gold chain for me so that it would shine better and he did without hesitation. The personal treatment he provided to me as I completed the sale, was exceptional. It is a rarity in NYC to find a jeweler that would spend so much time with one customer, specially if they are not sure the customer is going to buy anything at all. My first impression of him was wonderful and coming back today for my second time, my experience was just as nice as my first experience. Eddy even worked with my budget to make sure I would be happy when I left his store. I will return again should I decide I want to buy another diamond charm or gold chain. Eddy made my shopping experience a pleasant one and I would recommend this place should anyone want a kind, honest and attentive jeweler that can be trusted and will work with your budget. He is a good listener too. I also want to mention that Eddy also cleans and repairs your jewelry if needed. He is such a humble and kind man and it was my pleasure doing business with him.

Mr. Aliyari (Eddy) was very personable and asked if I was looking for anything specifically. I showed him two photos of vintage pieces I liked the look of, and he helpfully pointed me towards a beautiful pair of diamond 'ribbon' earrings with the same vibe. The earrings were gold, which I don't typically wear, so he offered to have them rhodium-plated with only a short wait. The resulting earrings are beautiful and even better than the inspiration piece. Pricing was fair, and his service was top-notch.

I had the ability to visit their flagship location in Bali which was a beautiful experience that complemented my John Hardy experience. Sadly, my trips to the New York City boutique have consistently left sour tastes in my mouth. A few years ago I made a purchase and was not even thanked, but instead was told, "I'm glad you came in today," by the salesperson. Today I stopped in with friends and the salesperson could not have been more disinterested in helping. Despite even wearing John Hardy on my visit I felt I was an inconvenience. She placed bracelets on my wrist and was unable to tell me the size. When I tried one on that I really liked but was too large, no offers made to check online inventory or special order a smaller size. I was told one of the items would be increasing in price by $300 tomorrow with the explanation of "everything is going up." I continue to love the jewelry but will stick to online or other options for acquiring pieces; this location isn't interested in a positive customer experience.

She's friendly in a way that's genuine, not forced, and you can feel her sincerity in every interaction. I was used to wearing cheap gloves from Amazon, but these were a serious investment--and completely worth it. With the most recent snowstorm in New York, I was reminded why I needed them. I have poor circulation (even at 25), and my hands are usually freezing. These gloves made an immediate difference. The quality is absolutely flawless. Some of the employees seemed a bit new, but then who I believe was the owner stepped in--and it was impressive. He didn't even need to measure my hands; he knew my exact size right away and carefully explained how sizing varies depending on the style and the thickness of the lining. They made sure every pair fit perfectly. This is hands down the best glove store I've ever been to. I couldn't recommend it enough, and their gloves also make amazing gifts.

The first pair…read moreof gloves I tried had the lining attached only partially, which already raised questions about quality. Sizing was completely inconsistent as well - an 8 in one style was tiny, and in another it was huge - so navigating the assortment was basically impossible. On top of that, every basic question felt like it was taken as a personal attack. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and the man who I assume is the owner made passive-aggressive comments toward the women trying to help. After I tried multiple pairs that simply didn't fit - despite being open to different colors - he told me that I don't know what I want and that I should "come back after the busy season."

Their new estimate was $300. The wedding band was simple, no stones, and I was sizing down. When I went into the store and asked them about this they said was the new price they were charging to resize rings. It is annoying that not only were they not sticking to the timeline that they gave me, but that they decided to increase the price to do a simple ring resize by 300%. If I could give Tiffany negative stars I would. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Thought my whole experience Tiffany and their staff have gaslight me. I brought in my grandfathers wedding band that he left me after passing away, to have it resized. The in store customer service was great. They told me that it would take two weeks to have the band resized and would $110. After two weeks passed (already longer than the work should have taken) I finally got an email to approve the estimate so they could start the work. Their new estimate was $300. The wedding band was simple (picture attached) no stones, and I was sizing down. I went into the store to ask about the cost change and after 45 minutes of two of them talking to the repair center they said was the new price they were charging to resize rings. They said there was nothing they could do about it and I could accept the cost or ask for it to be returned. So I asked for it to be returned. Initially it was annoying that not only were they not able to stick to the timeline that they gave me, but also they decided to increase the price to do a simple ring resize by 300%. Particularly when other places around the city have quoted me at $40. Because they took so long I wasn't able to bring my grandfathers ring to the funeral with me. When I got back from the funeral I went to go pick up my ring, because it took them 3 days to get it back. When I went into the store, June 28 over 3 weeks after I had first dropped it off, to get my ring I explained the situation to the original sales associate. She came back with a manager who said that they would honor the original price of $110. They asked if two weeks would be ok, I said no so they said they would rush it. After two weeks I called to see when my ring would be ready. The person I talked to said it wasn't started and would take a few more weeks. It was at this point I asked for a manager. I got a call back from Dorian who proceeded to try and blame me for the situation saying I had only brought the ring in a week earlier (July 9th), he also tried to stay that the repairs center was running behind so my ring was forced to be done in August. I demanded that they give me an exact date when they would get me the ring and that they expedite it like they said they would. I got an email back saying that it would be done Friday the 16th. When I went to pick it up it took another 45 minutes of back and forth because they had stamped the inside of the ring with the Tiffany & Co name when it originally didn't have it. I have also reached out to their corporate customer service and was told the district manager would contact me. They have not done so, which is just par for the course in the horrific customer service they have give me. My daughter worked nearby the Diamond District. I was waiting for her to get off work. I had always worn a lot of rings. My husband had purchased a diamond for me. My home was burglarized and it was stolen. I always wanted to replace it. This day waiting for my daughter I saw the glitter. I went into a shop and without knowing a thing about how to purchase a diamond I was taken for $1,000. After I moved here and went to the DD it sickened me to have the men trying to lure me into the stores. If they're all going out of business I'm not surprised. They put signs up saying "stores closing" to get you in thinking you'll get a deal. I caught one store in the act. Right away they took the sign down when I said I was posting my photo on Yelp. I pass through the Diamond District now or avoid it completely. A lot of homeless in this hood last time I was there. Some say buyer beware. I also say do your homework first before you make an investment. The diamond I purchased was terribly flawed. I was upset looking at it. I ended up selling it to a pawn shop for $100! I couldn't stand to look at it and needed the money when I moved to NY. Go figure! Lesson Learned!
