He recently upgraded his service to two hundred amps and installed a 60amp connector for his Tesla. Having been a contractor for thirty years I worked with other electricians who knew their trade. We purchased string lights from Costco to install in our backyard, but we didn't have a spare outlet for the string light and wasn't sure how to mount and install the lights that can withstand the wind and rain. I requested for quotes from 4 electrical companies, and out of 4, Eric provided the most detailed quote with the best quoted price. This was our second time using Jaco electric, and this time again, we were very happy with how things went from the start to the end. First of all, Eric is on top of communication. He will respond to text messages or calls, and he communicates before he comes out and for any changes or for any questions. He and his partner came out to install a new GFCI outlet in our backyard and installed the string light with wires so it's mounted sturdy and can withstand any weather conditions. He and his partner was very professional, and even with my 2 boys and 70 lbs dog around, they finished faster than we expected, and most of all, they were very sweet with our boys and our dog. JaCo is my new go to for electrical work. I am probably above average handy as I can do simple electrical and DIY a lot of other home improvements, so I tend to hold contractors to a higher expectation. JaCo had no problems meeting these expectations. Contracted them for a few jobs: install an external outlet, add a switch and connect with an existing for a three way pole setup, ground some un-grounded outlets. These jobs required some troubleshooting with existing poor wiring, dry wall work, stucco work, and pulling wire runs through studs. Everything turned out great. Workmanship was solid, and tarps were used for easy clean up. Estimates were easy and they were more than happy to answer my questions. The only warnings I'll give are they are a little relaxed with formalities as far as written estimates. However, I'm sure they would be more than willing to provide something if you requested. I've never had an issue with payment settlement, so it didn't bother me. Additionally, they can get pretty busy (probably an indicator of their stellar work), so you will need to see when their next availability is. However, again, with the work they have provided so far, I'm more than happy to wait for their next opening now. I got a few quotes to get my Tesla wall charger installed. I went with JaCo/Eric because he asked more questions about the job than the other guys. I texted him a couple pictures of my breaker panel and where I wanted the charger installed and he was able to give his recommendation over the phone versus having to come by, inspect, then give a quote. I could tell from his recommendations that he's installed many Tesla chargers. There wasn't enough breakers in my box for the charger but he was able to switch out a couple breakers with bigger ones so they could take on more appliances in my home so he could make space for the designated Tesla breaker. He was booked out almost 3 weeks but since this is likely once in a long time thing, I felt better waiting for him. read more
