We asked Brea Electric to evaluate our 1967 electric panel for solar and ev charging. They recommended a new 200 amp panel. Their price was reasonable so we asked them to do the job. They did all the necessary permits and SCE notifications. In 1 day, they removed and replaced the panel. The next day, they completed panel review to ensure all breakers were identified and working. Our lights fluctuated up and down in authentic Halloween Style. I spoke to Joyce at BEC, and luckily, they had Nick, who was available and local here in Brea. He arrived within 15 minutes. A quick diagnosis revealed that an SCE wire was faulty--power surges! SCE was out the next day, and in less than 24 hours, we were back to normal. We had an "unsolvable" electrical issue after hearing a pop one day in our home that caused multiple outlets in one wall of our home to not work. That includes the outlets that share the wall on our second floor. We unfortunately contacted two other companies before reaching out to Brea Electric. These two companies were inept & incapable of getting to the root of our problem even after a 3+ hour visit. Plus, they kept on asking if we could locate a junction box to find the cause of our issues. They gave up when they couldn't find one. Then, we gave Brea Electric a shot. I had a GFCI outlet in our guest bathroom that when it rained, it would trip and not reset for whatever reason. I looked at the outlet myself, checked for any moisture, loose wires or anything out of the ordinary but could not figure it out. The small metal electrical box was very cramped with all the wires running in and out of it. I called Brea Electric simply because they are local, trusted and had good Yelp reviews. Camden from Brea Electric showed up, checked things out and recommended replacement of the GFCI and and also said wrapping the outside terminals on the new outlet with electrical tape resistant up to 600v to stop any possible arcing or whatever could happen with the outlet in a cramped metal box. In about 45 minutes, Camden was done and had everything back together. We have had several rainy days since and no more tripping of the outlet...so far so good. Thanks Brea Electric! read more

I needed a gfci and another switch looked at that a remodeling contractor goofed on. Sounds like a simple thing right? I can do some basic electric and these jobs were not as simple - more like a puzzle. Brea Electric sent out Kenneth this time around as I previously used them to install and re-center a chandelier that we get plenty of complements on. Kenneth was super professional. He gave me an estimate that was accurate despite all the troubleshooting that needed to be done to figure out what the last contractor did/missed. We ultimately had to cut into drywall, but the cuts were laser accurate and minimal which should make patching and painting easy. He was very communicative the whole time, got the jobs done, and I even learned a thing or two. And above all, cleaned up when all was done.
