After experiencing wildly successful popularity last year for their Friday lunches, owner Rita…read moreSturiale closed the cafe portion of this gift shop - café in roughly December to regroup. So it was delightful when The Sturiale Place reopened last month (May 2018) as warm and wonderful as ever for ambiance in the lovingly restored old house, hospitality, service and food. With a revised and bit expanded menu and a new young Chef in the kitchen, formerly Executive Chef at a Portland area McMenamins, this was a unique little gem before and the changes have polished it even brighter. Our first lunch after re-opening was as delightful as the others we enjoyed here last year (see my previous review for details). This time we enjoyed being able to try new menu items like green salad with Delicata squash and herbed goat cheese (half order $7.50), house made pappardelle with braised lamb Bolognese ($18) and mushroom Marsala on polenta ($13). As a great new surprise on the wine menu, manager Gina Sturiale (daughter of Rita) has added a really good white and red wine by the glass, like the nice Negroamaro my husband enjoyed, for as little as $5! The menu spans options from soup through appetizers and starter or main course sized salads through entrees to desserts. Prices range from $6 to $18. Total inside seating is limited to maybe 16 and maybe about that many on an outside deck. So this is not a place for big groups. It is likely not a kids' destination either. As added treat they are now open on Thursday and Friday from 11 to 2 for lunch. And now reservations can be made via Open Table.

I did subtract one star because there is only street parking and many spaces you need a residential permit to park. Also, they have such limited hours of operation. Won't be able to try again until next week. We have a reservation for next Friday, so I will update with review on food then.....

Chandlers in DT Boise is one of the best steakhouses we've ever been to, and we can't wait to come…read moreback. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. We truly cannot say enough nice things about this place. We started with the Huckleberry Lemon Drop and another drink I can't recall, but both were delicious and refreshing. For our appetizer, we ordered the Prawn Cocktail and their complimentary bread--both great. Our waiter even brought us a chef's treat: a Deviled Quail Egg. It was surprisingly good, though I've never had a quail egg before, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Our entrées were the highlight of the night. These were two of the best steaks we've ever had, and trust me, we've been to many steakhouses all over. The USDA Gold filet mignon was cooked to perfection, and the Chairman's Reserve cowboy-cut ribeye was phenomenal. Both desserts were good, but I preferred the carrot cake over the cheesecake. We ended up taking them to go because we were absolutely stuffed. Dinner was incredibly filling and worth every penny. Highly recommend.

This review is long overdue. I visited this restaurant 2 weekends ago and I have not stopped raving…read moreabout it now that I am back home in LA. The service, food, and energy tops every steakhouse I have experienced in Beverly Hills. The service alone can make this place a 10/10. They have a big wine selection and the food truly is worth the price that you pay. There are multiple servers, aside from your main one, who come to check up on you, grab any finished plates, etc. My server Jordan (who btw is absolutely phenomenal, he deserves all the recognition possible) stopped by my table while my boyfriend was in the restroom and grabbed his napkin to fold it for him to return back to. It's the little things that make this place great! They offer valet parking, which is free but you can tip, and your server will take your ticket for you and call the driver so your car is ready when you step out. Yes! I love Chandlers. I will be back for you!
